I'm just hoping they don't make a new type and that they don't 20+ new water types

We've already got plenty of offencive Steel pokemon, just look at Metagross, Scizor, Magnezone, Heatran, Empoleon, Lucario, and possibly Jirachi.

Defencive Dragon type could work, if it had a good type to go along with it. Water/Dragon is a very good type combination, and could work well as a defencive type (And would also set it apart from Kingdra). I think we can all agree, though, that the best defencive couple for for Dragon is Steel. Give it Levitate, and it's got only one weakness.
 
most water types are pretty crap but that aside it make sense the pokeoceans are filled, just think about it:SO much different species in this world of ours just waiting to be discovered deep into the seas! millions of different fishs, sharks and friends!
 
Maybe they should make a similar type to water so they can keep the oceanic diversity without flooding it with water types.

Fact is that Steel is a bad type on its own taking into consideration its common weaknesses. This is only in the metagame, of coarse, where people are always prepared to face steel types, but you get my point. Taking into consideration that a Steel Eeveelution would most likely have a pretty shallow move pool, along with inadequate stats to support its weaknesses, it would probably be banished to UU.
 
heatran never use its steel STAB moves, magnezone use only because of movepool limitations...and t-tar, empoleon never use flash cannon, lucario never use flash cannon and jirachi prefer psychic, they are part steel but NEVER use they steel typing on the offensive.

Since Metagross, Jirachi, and Scizor are the only steels on that list who actually use their Steel STAB, and Metagross like never uses his Psychic STAB. Pretty much Scizor would be hit the hardest, then Jirachi, and then Metagross

Jirachi only uses his steel STAB because it gels with his ability, and Metagross only uses his because its a powerful move. They would be infinitely better if they were psychic typed. Metagross only doesn't use his psychic type because zen headbutt is shit.

Steels don't like being Steel because of STAB, they like it because of all those resistances. That was the whole point in making Steel type: Lots of resistances with common weaknesses and bad offencive coverage.

Well, technically that wasn't the point, but that's its purpose nowadays.
 
i'm looking forwards to water being joined with fire, or grass with fire, or ice with fire, you know, something gimmiky like that

and yeah, most water types suck, cept for the legendaries and the bulky waters (which are not even 10)

Uh no they wouldn't. They would have way more trouble Switching into stuff without their Steel typing
 
well, psychic is not that good nowadays... pursuit really messed it up....

imagine if that happened to dragon...new type which basically kills any dragon :o
 
Okay, since this all started with a proposed steel eeveelution, it boils down to this: it couldn't be offensive unless supported by another type, which an eeveelution will no have. It also will not have the selling points of the current offensive steel types, namely: meteor mash, bullet punch, and serene grace.
 
if there was to be a steel eevee....i'm thinking limited movepool
EXTREMELY limited movepool....gosh, steel is already somewhat limited move-wise
(and i mean moves like attacks, i don't mean moves like movement xD)

Like I said, if there was a Steel Eeveelution, it would be banned to UU. Possibly NU, with Registeel as a competitor.

it would be cool something all powerful with double stab on something superweak...like a double-stabbed sacred fire from max attack ho oh with six calm minds and choice specs under the belt on a paras during that has had their defense lowered during sunny day and flame orb

edit: i know all eevolutions have minimal movepools, but you gotta acknowledge some have usable-er movepools than others...like how vaporeon's is better than glaceon's
