I thought at first, when I saw dynamic used in that, that instead of simple flashing sprites when they got hurt, maybe animations for pain, more involved attacks instead of moving the sprite forward, and some other things. I believe Black and White was being made sometime before Heartgold/Soulsilver came out, so it's obvious there's something big going on.

No first person shooter pokemon battles.
^LMFAO Zoroark used Glock
What I think they mean by 'dynamic' is that the battle will be like PBR, with all sides of both/ all 4 Pokemon seen. Also more 'physical' changes will be made, i.e. an Earthquake would result in the illusion that the DS is shaking (like remember when Rowan was blabbering in the library and the explosion at Lake Valor happened?).
Any stupid additions, aka Fusions, the 'first flyer' (Pidgey, HootHoot, Tailow, Starly) being pure Flying, triple battle, triple typing, and hybrids (Salamence+Gyarados=Draggawind) are, well, stupid, and will force me to return to competitive battling in RBGS.

A pure Flying Pokemon turning into the ??? type wouldn't look shoddy because only the people who actually go into the game and look at its code (like us) will even know that it turns into the ??? type. Everyone else will just assume it loses its type and somehow has no type for the rest of the turn.

A pure Flying type is better than a Normal and Flying type since it can be used to counter Fighting types. Having a Ghost immunity in OU or UU isn't that useful if you have an Electric weakness, since many Ghosts (especially Rotom) carry Thunderbolt.

IMO, they won't make a pure Flying type unless they make a Flying Eevee evolution or have some other branch evolution Pokemon that evolves into Pokemon that are all monotyped but have varying types.

If a pure Flying-type Pokémon uses Roost, it becomes a ???-type until the end of the turn. However, all Flying-type Pokémon have two types (except Arceus which is unable to learn Roost). To obtain a ???-type, the player must change a Pokémon to be a pure Flying type (with Color Change, Conversion or Conversion 2), followed by using Roost.

Just thought this might clear things up a bit. Considering there is no weaknesses or resistances when a pure Flying type uses Roost, this would be most logical.

Are we seriously still talking about this? How about other interesting possibilities, like, there might actually be more than three fire families this time!

(haha just kidding April fools)

Absolutely mind-boggling!!!!

But cereally, i really hope they make a new Gyrados/Milotic line with Water/Electric typing and built to be a special sweeper. This would make my life.

the fact he is lame on the physical side and lack reliable recovery besides volt absorb is more then enough reason to ask for a better water/eletric type IMO.

We should get a Water/Electric type which has the choice of abilities between Water Absorb and Volt Absorb, which is built as a mixed sweeper. Who knows what it'll be running?

surely not going to run something like aqua tail, t-bolt, ice beam and superpower right? i hope they make something useful this time, we need more useful walls not named blissey.

Though Lanturn is my favorite, I wouldn't mind him evolving into a more dolphin-like Pokemon with two floating balls of light circling him...like he could lose the two lights on his head and they could become the two floating power orbs.
I'm going to see if I can pull off a quick sketch of what I mean.

I'm no great artist so I can't draw how I picture it in my mind but this is the closest I can get:

Haha he looks so happy!

While I would like to see a dolphin Pokemon, Chinchou and Lanturn are based on angler fish. If it were to evolve it would most likely be of the deep sea variety.

Yea. I know. It's just that the smile on Lanturn makes him seem dolphin-esque. Remoraid to Octillery is pretty weird so who knows? Anything is possible.

Yes, Lanturn is willing for a evo.

I mean, look at Lapras stats: now look at Lanturn ones. See?

Lapras is superior in every damn important stat (and also movepool wise)...

Too bad Lapras is Ice typed. That alone guarantees that Lapras isn't going to be that much used. Oh well...

Better than anything I could draw :P That fact that the second evolution suddenly changes the species that the pokemon is based off of would be the weird part.

so when i mentioned lanturn was a donphin everyone got angry at me but when he talk about lanturn=donphin you guys just correct him? wtf you guys got against me? lapras being a ice type does give ice beam STAB but besides that she lose defensive power thanks to the ice type.

He could be another "The Happiness Pokemon"
hmmm...stats...
140 HP, 50 Attack, 80 Defense, 105 Special Attack, 80 Special Defense, 80 Speed, 535 Total
That stat total is similar to the ones of the 4th Gen Pokemon who evolved from pre-4th Gen Pokemon. If he goes by being a "Happiness Pokemon," he could utilize Wish for a healing move but then, Vaporeon might be seen as "outclassed."

Anyways...Chinchou and Lanturn are anglers but the transition between the three goes through quite smoothly. Chinchou is some bug-looking fish then to Lanturn which is more like an angler fish but without the teeth but with a dolphin-ish face. The change to a dolphin wouldn't be too out there. He pretty much needs to change his fins around. Lanturn and fishes swim with their back fin left and right. Dolphins and whales swim up and down. That would be the biggest change Lanturn would have to make if it would go mammal.

Just leave Lanturn alone. There's plenty of other useless pokemon aspiring to evolve.
I'm always obliged to pick the fire starter because of the lack of good fire pokemon even halfway through the game. Water is usually the best starter, and a lot of people think grass=weak. Meganium is actually really good, and they need faster Grass types like Sceptile... just not odd-looking.

I don't mind GameFreak poking around Lanturn for an evolution, as long as they don't make it something like Infernape or Glaceon. I'm fine with it and Lanturn to me is like Pikachu to Ash so in a way, they "have my permission."

I'd love a Lanturn evolution, but I still want it to be UU :)

Just high UU. I love dolphins and I love Lanturn, and an evolution would be awesome as long as Nintendo don't stuff it up and make Lanturn look bad :P

This. A big part of why Infernape and Heatran are way up at the top of OU is because there are no reasonable alternatives for Fire-type STAB, one of the best STABs. There are pitifully few Fire-types and most have crippling drawbacks like lame secondary typing, poor stats, tiny movepools, or some combination thereof. In Diamond/Pearl, for example, the only Fire-type Pokemon available before the Elite 4 is Ponyta.

I would be perfectly comfortable with it if these new games feature no new Water-type Pokemon except for the starter and maybe a legendary and/or difficult-to-obtain new evolution, like some postgame item that evolves Lumineon into a 550 BST monster. No waterfronts in this industrialized society, instead a lot of factories home to half a dozen new Fire-types, including several strong ones available early in the game. Give us a non-legendary Fire/Steel to abuse that great typing more, or add some other cool secondary types like Fire/Water (4x resist to Ice, Fire, and Steel, only three weaknesses) or Fire/Electric (7 resists, only 3 weaknesses, plus super effective STAB on 6 types and resisted only by Flygon, Swampert, and Latias in OU).

Fire-types are the single biggest area for improvement on the overall roster at this time.
