So I needed a new team, and I had no inspiration. I started by just using random shit, seeing stuff that worked together, and seeing what worked well. After a ton of trial and error, I found a few pokemon I wanted to work around, and this is what came out. Been using it for awhile, and its been going pretty well. Feel it could use tweeks though, so yea, here it is.
Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 Def
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Roar
So I had this team about done, and I needed a lead. I wanted something that worked well, could possibly come in later, and wouldn't bring many weaknesses. I looked, and pert seemed to have good synergy with my team, so I threw it in, and like yea. So lay off rocks first turn, EQ for STAB, Ice Beam provides good coverage hitting grounds, grasses, and dragons, Roar allows me to scout my opponent.
Latias (F) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Trick
So I wanted a way to use specs latias because of the damage I have seen it done. I found some things that had good synergy with it, and found the right place for it. So Draco Meteor for STAB, Surf for fires and grounds, T-Bolt for bulky waters. Trick is prefered over dragon pulse to cripple walls and physical sweepers.
Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 156 HP/126 Atk/228 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Taunt
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
So I had the next three pokemon picked out right now, and I noticed that I had a sort of ground weakness, and to a very lesser extent, fire. Heatran seemed like it could cause trouble, especially scarf vaients. I looked through stuff that could beat EQ users, and stop fires. I then remembered this weird varient of bulky gyara I had. Since I had wish support, I knew it would be ok, so I threw it in. The evs on it allow it to hit 280, which is enough to outspeed both lucario and heatran, and take some hits from both. I just kepy the HP the same for it, and threw the rest of the evs in attack, just to retain bulk. So DD to boost, Taunt to stop walls, Waterfall for STAB, Stone Edge for better coverage, and hit fliers.
Metagross @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 28 HP/252 Atk/228 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake
- Trick
- Explosion
So scarf metagross was one of those guys I really wanted to use, but didn't have the best opportunity. I started this team with latias, and threw this in too, and as the team built up, it had a pretty solid place, providing some much needed suprise revenge kills, cripple shit, blow up, all that. So mash for STAB and hit dragons, rocks, and stuff, EQ for steels and fires, Trick cripples walls and such, explosion to kill most anything that may cause trouble.
Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP/220 Def/36 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Wish
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic
So I had a few guys in, and I noticed two very important things. I had no form of recovery anywhere, when most guys were bulky, and I had no way to counter gyarados. I looked for something that could help with both situations, and I thought of jirachi. I figured a wishcm one would be able to help because it would provide support, plus if I get a chance, I could be able to sweep with it. So CM to set-up when I get the chance to do some damage, Wish to provide healing and support my other members, T-Bolt for coverage and waters, Psychic provides superior coverage for jirachi, and provides STAB.
Heatran (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP/16 SAtk/240 SDef
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Will-o-wisp
- Substitute
- Earth Power
- Overheat
So I needed some form of special wall, and I wanted some fire moves. I also noticed that I had no reliable way to deal with scizor. I started thinking of a normal sub heatran at first, but I wanted something a bit more defensive. So I remembered using burn support heatran awhile ago, and I remember how it did for me, so decided to use it. WoW cripples physical sweepers coming in expecting to be able to counter tran, subsitute is a bit abstract though. I didn't need rocks, as swampert sets those up, and wanted another move. I saw sub as an alternative move, and also didn't really want roar, so went with sub, as it seemed logical. Earth Power hits heatran and other things, Overheat for strong STAB, dunno if I should switch it for fire blast though.
So thats it. Its been pretty good, so yea. Please gimme some good rates, and thanks!!!
