Is the Life Orb Tank Milotic set viable in OU? I mean, I know Starmie has more speed, but Milotic is bulkier, likes status rather than switches out of it, and isn't pursuit bait!

So could the spread in the analysis work to make it a surprise Gyarados and Salamence killer?

Say I did use Life Orb Milotic in OU, would the ev spread/modest nature listed in the analysis work?

Vaporeon outcl- just kidding, eh

Milotic is a defensive pokemon. It's better off sleeping and dealing less damage but outliving its competition. I must admit that Life Orb does have good synergy with rest, so it is an alternative to lefties in a defensive spread.

Yes Lovirna, same EV spread, and Milotic =/= Vaporeon...

Say...what nature is generally better for DDMence, Naughty or Naive?

Naive allows you to possibly outspeed or tie with stuff like Scarfgon and Scarfrachi, however Naughty allows you to hit harder, and its easy to bait Flygon into an outrage and switch in a steel. Really up to you, but I do recommend Naive.

No. Against a +1 NAIVE Mence outrage always KO's, and even using Max/Max Milotic, Mence is doing 82% (again Naive) minimum. Good luck countering Mence when you can't use it for anythig else at the same time. Even if you do manage to get Milotic in before Stealth Rock and have Marvel Scale activated, you will be left with less than 20%, so its not really viable against Mence. However, you will have better luck against Gyarados.

you can't outspeed scarfGon and scarfJirachi with a positive nautred Salamence as they all share the same 100 base Speed and both Flygon and Jirachi usually run max Spe and a +Spe nature only to tie with +1 DD Salamence.

What's Fully Redi, Non Redi, Semi Redi? I want to participate in trade threads but I get the feeling that I should know what these things are before I do.

Where do I find the usage statistics of pokemon?

Fully redi means that you can redistribute and the person you trade to can too
Non redi means that you cannot redistribute
If you get semi redi rights, that means that you can trade it, but the next person can't redistribute it
If the person has semi redi rights, it means that that person can trade it, but you can't redistribute it

I'd welcome some advice on the Hariyama I'm building. I already know the general build I want,

adamant
thick fat
448 HP
309 atk
201 def
-
219 sp.def
-

I haven't done the calculations for the exact EVs, but it's using all 107 points. I haven't decided upon the moveset yet. He is built for sp.def and a leftovers HP number. He is adamant for the 12 extra points it provides over careful. The general moveset I have in mind is,

-leftovers
revenge
payback
bulk up
rest

Close Combat does incredible damage without Revenge's limitation, but defeats the purpose of so much defensive investment.
Brick Break is I assume doing much less damage in the long run.

I'd like him to take physical hits a bit better than he currently does. Rest feels like a gamble until I can test it.

The underlying purpose of the build is soaking fire, ice, rock, dark, and bug attacks. And with these stats he can survive a max sp.atk modest Alakazam psychic.

Would Knock Off and Close Combat be better for my purposes? Counter? Rest talk?

Which would you use as a special wall in conjunction with Weezing?

  • Lanturn-may not have perfect synergy but its handy resistances to BoltBeam, Flamethrower and Surf are really no laughing matter. Its HP is a bonus, too.
  • Clefable- No synergy except for the fact that Weezing resists Fighting. Can do damage via Facade, Meteor Mash, etc. and can take hits really well. Immunity to status via status-inducing orb and immunity to Pain Split, Leech Seed and entry hazard is a big plus for this thing.
  • Drapion- perfect synergy at the cost of lack of some resistances. He can't take special hits that well but can survive some. This doesn't also have gigantic HP or Sp. Def. However, its ability to wield Black Sludge to somewhat "block" trickers is good.
Help me choose please. I'm stuck among these good qualities.

Drapion's special tanking abilities are limited, while Clefable's are formidable and it can run a wide array of very troublesome and very diverse support movesets. My problem with Lanturn is it's narrow movepool, it's options are limited,. From the 3 you listed, I would suggest Clefable.

No, No, and maybe, probably not. Jynx is outclassed by basically any special attacker in ubers. In the sleep department Darkrai in particular kicks its ass.

Glaceon is probably outclassed by stuff like kyogre who just hits much much harder than it ever could.

Gyarados just is not as strong as Rayquaza and basically gets raped because everything and their mothers run thunder.

Jynx and Gyarados may struggle in Ubers, but I'd look again at Glaceon. Its modest Choice Specs Blizzard, which is probably the set most worth using, basically has the capability to 1HKO fifteen out of the twenty-one pokemon (excluding Wynaut and Arceus) in the Uber tier, and 2HKO everything except Manaphy and Kyogre. So more or less all it needs to do is come in safely and live one attack from its switch-in, should that survive...I know that Uber pokemon aren't the only things used in Ubers, but it might be worth a try?

Which would you use as a special wall in conjunction with Weezing?

Um, maybe Umbr-...oh. Clefable is probably the best option of the three then, with Softboiled, high special defense and its wonderful support movepool. Weezing/Clefable is a pretty tried-and-tested duo anyway. Lanturn looks quite tempting, but using Drapion as a special wall would be stretching its capabilities a little...

Then which offensive combination would work on Milotic? Modest + Choice Scarf? Timid + Choice Specs? Modest + Choice Specs? Timid + Choice Scarf? I mean, besides Salamence could an offensive set work? I mean, Salamence isn't guaranteed a Dragon Dance!

Does anyone know how to beat a smeargle belly drum / baton pass team?
completely raped me :0

You really have to beat the lead of a Baton Pass team. Once they get going they are hard to stop. I am assuming that Smeargle used Spore in order to set up? The best anti-Smeargle lead in the world is Honchkrow. Honchkrow's ability prevents it from being put to sleep, and then OHKO's with Superpower. Honchkrow is actually a good lead in general, it is an extremely underestimated threat. Honchkrow usually ends up KOing one pokemon, and then most people send out TTar...which dies to Superpower... I am getting off track but yeah, try Honchkrow. He deserves more love and is the best Smeargle counter :)

If that doesn't work just roar/whirlwind the opponent away XD

The other thing you could always try against Baton Pass chains is Trick them a Scarf.
Or Explode on them. But then that usually results in a ragequit.

I'm aware of that, but I'm referring to using it in the Battle Frontier. The HeartGold Battle Frontier doesn't ban illegal egg move combinations does it?
If you want to cheat your way through the BF then by all means do so. But don't go posting your streak without saying you did that. (If you get the moves by glitch I'd say it's not cheating, but it still might not be put on the streaks thread we have here)

But it's not gonna survive. Any Uber physical attack is gonna take it out, and it'll probably fall to most special attacks too.
If you're dead set on using Glaceon, either spread paralysis like crazy first, or put it in a Trick Room team.

Fast Explosion. Or just generally hit hard.

Quick question:

If you don't fight or faint any of the map legends (such as Heatran, pixies, Cress, etc.), can you still RNG abuse them for IVs?

The stationary ones like Heatran and Regiggas have their IVs determined when you enter the battle so you can still RNG abuse them. Mesprit and Cresselia's IVs and Nature are determined when you first talk to them and fly away. Zapdos, Motres, and Articuno's IVs and Nature are determined when you get the National Pokedex in Platinum or when you beat the Pokemon League again, if you defeat them.

Quick question, do the BT trainers use choice scarf? And if i migrate a machop to platinum, is its nature set when i save to migrate or can I redo the palpark to get one with no guard?

I don't know about BT, but i'm pretty sure the nature and ability and all the things are set when transferred. It is the exact pokemon you caught from the Gen 3 games.

So its impossible to get a machamp with no guard if I transfer from third generation?

Edit: Ok thanks guys I guess I cant get the pokemon i wanted.
