In regards to DPPt Egg IV abuse, does the mere turning of the NPC advance the frame?

That may explain why my frame is jumping every time I hit my Seed/Delay...
 
It happened to me as well before I started using Pikatimer. I spent hours on one poke because all I had was my computer clock and my estimate of split seconds.You're going to have to keep trying. Try hitting game start earlier or later, depending on if you tend to get early or later delays.

okay
sucks that I cant get the pikatimer. Were you successful a lot without it?
and my seconds is 13, maybe I should recalibrate to an easier time
 
I am not sure whether I am insane or not, but I seem to hit certain delays more often on certain days on the DS. Maybe just change the date it has and you'll somehow hit it. If you do hit it like this please say so, just to prove that it might have an affect and that I am not the only one experiencing this.

Well if you can always hit 13, then stay with 13. You're probably hitting your target time if you always get 13, but what about the delay? And by changing the date, you're screwing with your IVs (which, i'm just assuming you're trying to go for?).

I was persistent, so yes, I got my pokes. Some were easier than others. Mostly I had to really pay attention to what I did that made me get closer to a seed.

I have experienced swinging delays on some days, Human, so yeah, I believe in DS gremlins. I'm joking, but yeah, weird stuff happens on some days. The day after the crazy swinging delays, everything went normal again.
 
I meant change the date and time for hitting the seed and by changing the date to hit certain delays I meant it as in on the DS date thing when I change the day to May 26 or something like that (if I remember correctly), I could not hit a delay of 485, which was what I was hitting consistently the entire time the previous day. I changed the date to May 20th and immediately I hit the delay of 485 which I hit before. It seemed pretty consistent for me when I did this for other things, just wasn't sure whether it was just me and dumb luck or actually something.

i always hit 13 its just the delays
my delay is 481 but i keep hitting 491 and around there

EDIT: and I only want it to be shiny, i could care less about its ivs

Before, then you give the pokemon you want, well you can give the pokemon before you call as it doesn't make a difference (I think). After you verify your seed get to the right egg and save before you take it.
 
I'm confused.

I already got the shiny egg with the right ability and nature if that's what you were referring to, and I'm saved in front of the Daycare Man; I just need to SR for IVs but don't know when to verify the seed with Elm's Responses.

So do I verify before or after I take the egg?
 
Misread your post, you got and verify your seed before you get the egg. At that point you increase the frame until you are one away from the target frame. Get out of the pokegear and get the egg quickly. You should have gotten the egg with the IV's you wanted.
 
Calling Elm increases the frame by one. So you should be on frame 10 when you finish verifying your seed. At that point you should got to the radio and get to whatever frame you want to -1. Get out of the Pokegear and then get the egg from the Daycare Man..
 
While going through the guides and setting up to catch Heatran on my Platinum I got this frame with the formula and seed from the special spread file : 2153. I have all three birds, mesprit and cresselia roaming around so I got this: 2153-5-1=2147 which divided by two is 1073,5. My question is: Given that ,5, what exactly does that mean journal flipping wise? One more or One less?

it means that you can't only rely on journal flips to catch heatran, you will have to do 128 steps with 5 pokemon to account for that. So you can do 1071 flips and then walk 128 steps with 5 pokemon in your party, alternatively you can KO one of the birds to have your target become 2148 and do 1074 flips so do which ever you like.

Thanks for the clarification.

Though, this leads me to the question, how do I verify the seed if the frame is 3? Or is my only choice at this point is to hatch the egg every time and check its IVs?

If you chose a frame of 3, then I suggest to choose a higher frame. A frame at least above 10 will work.
