Thanks for the tip. I managed to find a seed with the same spread at frame 23, so I'll have to work with that.

2 more questions:

1) Just to be sure, by the 9th time I call Elm, with no roamers, would I be at frame 10?

2) After calling Elm, could I mix between calling Elm and Youngster Joey (who advances the RNG/frame by 2 iirc) to get to my desired frame (23), or would I be better off only calling Elm to advance to that frame?
 
I am trying to catch Heatran and I've hit my seed twice(confirmed via coin flip trick) but still no modest Heatran. I was wondering, when my game starts, it starts in a journal page with a caught pokemon, should that count towards the amount of journal flips I have to do or not?

1) You don't count the number of calls. You look at RNG Reporter to see which frame matches with which response.

2) After verifying your frame, then calling Joey will be faster (as long as you dont call him Mondays at daytime). Make sure you follow your frame on RNG Reporter and stop probably 3 frames before your target frame.
 
Can someone help me find my loading time? I have been doing trail and error and I got way WAY off course somehow. I am using the Seed Verifier and a roaming latias to see if I hit the delay correctly. My Delay is 605. I am using a modified delay of 954 right now... I think I need help getting my game loading time correct.

Thanks for the help; I ended up just using Elm's responses until the 22nd frame and finally managed to get the IVs for my Shiny Adamant Aron :).

Although when I first started calling, the first 3-4 call responses of the seed were ignored for lack of better words. The 1st call corresponded to the 4th response or so. Is that normal?

Either way, I'm glad to have RNGed my first shiny egg in HG :).

Congratulations! Yes, sometimes that will happen because that one NPC present will move quite a bit before you are able to press the Pokegear. It even says that the calibrated frame is usually three, so you are okay. Congrats again on your first RNG!
 
When using Pikatimer at the start and your narrowing down your timer, is it normal for the seconds you hit to have a wide range? Im trying to hit 23:02:50 with a delay of 680 but when cheaking the seed I have hit my dalays can range by +/- 100 and my seconds can range +/-10. Using the 'other delay' box doesn't seem to be helping get any nearer my wanted seed. Half the time it says there is no match for my elm calls either..... Anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

Are you breeding or catching?

If breeding, go see my noob guide on Pikatimer. If catching, maybe you should look at it anyhow and adjust how you're using it.

It definitely helps to put in your usual delay when breeding and your usual seconds entering the game.
 
Hi guys!
I have one problem to make the calibration step right in Soul Silver, I can't find any wild pokemon over lvl. 50, they doesn't appear at that level in the game.
So, I was wondering if catching Ho-Oh (lvl.70) several times can work in the same way that a wild pokemon.

I spent my entire day yesterday missing my delays =(
and I never knew calling elm increases the frame, on Sunday I hit my time and delay and verified by calling elm but my frame was 3. I called elm 9 times so that moved it to frame 10? Thats why my egg wasn't shiny.
I thought I finally understood this but now I'm lost again
 
Calling Elm does not increase the frames for shiny eggs. Eggs are IRNG. Elm increases frames for RNG. Joey will increase frames for shiny eggs, IRNG. So you did not miss your shiny by calling Elm. You're supposed to call him to verify that you're on the right seed.

You need to 1) check that your SID and OT are always correct before you hit ok to calculate your seed and 2) make sure your dates/times are correct when resetting the DS and 3) avoid incoming calls by choosing low frames and calling Joey to reduce the frames down to the one you need so the next egg you get is the right egg.

once I hit my target time and delay I put my parents in the daycare then call joey right?
 
Yes, you can do it that way, but I once called Joey first and then put the parents in the Daycare and I had my shiny egg anyhow. So don't panic if you accidentally call Joey first.

I wanna make sure I dont mess this up, I hit my target time and delay.
Should I just put the parents in the daycare??
my frame is 13, so I call joey 6 times and then start biking right?

EDIT: As soon as I put the parents in the daycare my mother called, can I still get the shiny egg or am I screwed?

EDIT 2: she called a second time while I was waiting on an answer

EDIT 3: Got tired of waiting on a reply so I tried and it worked, Mother calling doesnt affect the IRNG. I finally go my shiny charmander!
 
hey guys i have a question
how do i advance my frame if the lower right button of the radio only shows buena's password?(which does not advance the frame IIRC?)

good, my problem is that I am trying in platinum to extract a clefairy shiny with nature timid. I have to advance the RNG 6 times (4 steps and use sweet scent). what it spends to me is that when I hit the delay and the frame well, me a medicham shiny ALWAYS appears, and never another poke shiny. is there any motive for which this happens?

notes:
- I am using sweet scent in m. coronet
- when I initiate the game, the first poke is a dragonite, and before using sweet scent, I change it into a mew with synchrony to nv10
- there is a max repel position

well for the frame your trying to hit the encounter slot is that of medicham and not clefairy so you will always get the same result as long as you go for that frame. Every frame has a designated list of encounter slots so you have to find the frame that gives you the encounter slot for in the area you are trying to abuse in. this post explains it http://www.smogon.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1821938&postcount=5 and to see the encounter slots for a seed, just insert the seed into the seed (hex) box in the main window of RNG reporter, click generate, find the frames that give you the spread you want and right click and select calculate encounter slots if the number given for that frame does not match clefairy's encounter slot in that area of Mt. Coronet then you cannot use it to get your timid shiny clefairy.

it costs, I have entered this linkage and have seen that I have to give him to the option 'calculate encounter slots ' and that takes me to a page in which there says the pokemon that appears. now I am looking for a spread that it extracts to clefairy. I have already seen as this goes.

EDIT: I obtained it, found a clefairy shiny, only that I have found in the SS to nv8, and his ivs are not a big thing, but it serves me equally

In this case, would Ditto be a Method 1, or J Pokemon? And once I do the RNG advances, do I just use the Pokeradar and go into the fist grass patch I see, or do I need to do something else?
