Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

You said you wanted frame 14, right? So you call Joey six times 6 x 2=12. That leaves only frame 13 and 14 left. If you reject 13, you are left with the egg on 14. You could, of course, try calling Elm to advance, but like I said, I haven't tried this. KuyaJBoy would have to confirm that he did, because he gave that advice.

If you went one frame higher confirmed by IVs of the hatch, it's probably because of NPC movement. Did you read my post earlier about using your right thumb pad on the screen to hit the return button on the screen so you are directly on the talk button?

Remember that I don't have an AR to force egg or anything like that. I confirmed it by Egg Order, and I got a 12.5% Female Jolly Totodile (the frame before was the same, just shiny).

And yes, I did use the buttons and not the touch pad.

I'm not familiar with confirming by egg order using natures and gender. How are you doing that exactly?

Edit: I only ever see IVs. Which settings do you use to get natures and genders instead?

What's this about a "Joey" (I assume you're referring to Youngster Joey) advancing the IRNG frame? I thought there were no known methods of advancing it in HG/SS other than collecting eggs, but I know that there must be some other method(s) because one time I collected 6 eggs and got a Pokémon on frame thirty-something, rather than 7.

DPPt Shiny Breeding (Normal) with Shiny unchecked.

Jolly Nature, Any Ability, 12.5% Female, Year 2087.

Joey advances frames for getting the right egg by two each time you call him. But he's worthless when he wants to battle, which seems to be a Monday.

What are you doing with that year? 0.0

Are you referring to Egg PID? I don't think you can properly verify your frames using that part of RNG Reporter. You already have your egg. You should go to HGSS breeding. Go read my conversation with Pehu in my guide.

It's the only 12.5% female Adamant/Jolly spread I could find. -_-

And yes the Egg PID.

I really have to stop doing two things at once. I'm also doing RNG while trying to help you. Sorry for getting confused.

So you want to get a certain nature/ability egg. This isn't egg IVs? Just making sure.

Ok, so you need to find an odd frame without a weird date. Give me your ID, SID, usual seconds, and usual delay, nature and ability so I can check for a seed here.

Edit: I hope you are using PikaTimer, because you may need it.

ID: 35903
SID: 24927
Second: 59
Delay: 481-489 (Best if Odd)
Nature: Adamant or Jolly
Ability: Doesn't matter

And no PikaTimer here.

Let me get this right? It takes you 59 seconds to enter your game starting from the DS game start screen?

Edit: Most people take 12 to 14.

Edit: You need to recalibrate to find out your real seconds entering the game. But it's probably around 14. You need to get Pikatimer and learn how to use it. So long as you have a PC and not a Mac, you should be able to get it running. Just make sure you have up to date Java and that Java is set to open the Pikatimer package.

I have to go pick up my daughter at school so I will have to get back to you.

Oh, I thought you meant the second when you start the game.

It's about 13 seconds.

Edit: Crap. I'm screwed then. T-T Guess I'll leave the breeding all up to Diamond...

Alrighty, trying to do an RNG on Palkia (not very original, but it's a first for me).

So got my seed 290802AC, with my Hasty Syncher. Set it to Method J etc. Now, am I'm looking to advance the frame to hit the number listed under Frame, or Actual? Frame says 486, and Actual is 505. And since Palkia counts as one frame, I have to advance it by n-1, and then move to "talk" to it, correct?

use the number under the frame column not the actual frame and yes just subtract 1 from 486 to get 486 - 1 = 485, also remember to subtract 1 more frame for each roamer you have out.

Hm... so if I have to hit 485, or 489, or some other Odd Frame for that seed, that means that with 6 Pokemon in my Party, I won't be able to hit an odd Frame, right? I mean, Journal Flips are +2, and 128 Steps = +6 b/c of 6 Pokemon (if I read correctly), so there won't be a way to get an Odd Frame, unless I deposit one of my Pokes...?

yeah unfortunately with 6 you can't hit an odd frame

I don't think you're screwed, unless you're talking about not being able to use Pikatimer. Pikatimer will help a lot if you can use it.

Anyhow, I found this seed for May 31, 2010, 13:30:13.

C60D0223 delay 537, frame 2 adamant female 12.5%

So you'd set the DS clock to 13:29 and, according to Pikatimer, you'd have to turn the game on at around 59.07 seconds and hit A on the continue screen at around 13.93 seconds.

If you plan to use your computer clock, keep that in mind and adjust to get closer to your seed.

This seed shows up on frame 2 for international parents. Let me know if you need an international ditto.

Ah, okay. Is calling him the only known way (besides collecting eggs) to advance the IRNG? Are any other trainers known to advance the IRNG when you call them?

I haven't tested any others except the juggler Irwin and he failed. Someone posted earlier that Elm advances the egg frames but I haven't tested that either. The only one I know for sure is Joey.
