I haven't actually RNG'd for IVs, but I have RNG'd for shiny eggs. There are actually two RNGs, one is the regular RNG and the other is the IRNG, which is for eggs (I think the I stands for Incubating). The IRNG is not advanced by Elm calls, but it is advanced by taking an egg (or rejecting it) or it can be advanced by 2 by calling Joey when he isn't seeking a rematch.Alrighty, I'm trying to help my friend Egg IV RNG on HGSS but it's difficult as I can't actually see what he's doing. He's trying to hit frame 14 on Seed AC1601FC. So he said he hit his seed, verifying via Elm calls which match up... so he calls 13 times and grabs the egg, which is correct, right? Since the egg is Frame 1... But his IVs are way off and don't show up at all in the IVs in that seed.
The only explanation is that he didn't hit the seed, even though the calls matched up... Could there be any other explanation? Roamers are gone, btw.
EDIT: Parent B was holding a Power Item. Has it been tested as to the effects of Power Items on the RNG?
Not a question, just an interesting observation I made... I used the RNG Reporter to find a shiny egg for me, a jolly male. I hit the seed, verified it, and hatched it, but it wasn't shiny. I just realized that I forgot to update the OT ID, but I had updated the SID. Interestingly, though, the hatched pokemon was still a jolly male.
My delays can vary by 10 as well. Sometimes I consistently hit 588, other times I hit anywhere from 582 to 592. Just check your delay and if it keeps hitting 587, find a new seed with the new delay. If it fluctuates, just keep trying and eventually you will hit the right delay. So I was RNG abusing for IV's, and when I checked my delay from finding a seed after hatching the egg, my delay changed drastically(by about 10). Does anyone know what could have caused this?
EDIT: Sorry, to be more specific, my delay before was around 597 and when I checked, it was around 587.
Wow, that's great to know. Don't have to go through all the work if I'm not looking for a shiny. Thanks. Also, thanks for the guides you posted in your thread on RNGing shiny eggs, that's how I learned to RNG :)I think that works if you use no SID and no OT so you can target a nature and ability without the shininess. Someone found a shortcut to this without having to hit the exact seed. KuyaJBoy told me that you can try to hit your seed, but if you hit an adjacent, you plug in the seed of the adjacent in the first window of RNG Reporter and generate the egg possibilities and, hoping your target nature and ability aren't too far down the frames, you advance frames to get the egg on the adjacent spread instead of the target.
Alright, I'm looking for someone to teach me how to RNG standing legends. I've read everything I can find, watched bearfan's videos, but there still aren't set instructions, as far as I can see. This is my spread:
730004c2
22 4167fe3a
BOLD Ability 0
31 31 31 30 31 31 ELECTRIC 70
And my time and stuff.
June 2, 2010 0:53:50
Delay 1208
Frame 22
I've saved in front of Suicune (battling at Burned Tower so no NPC troubles) and from here I have no idea what to do. I can use PikaTimer but I'm kinda hesitant on trying Emloop or whatever because it's in Japanese ... I'm also on a DSi if that matters.
What am I supposed to do from here?
You're welcome, lukester. Btw, I've had seeds in which the delays swung plus and minus 50 or more in either direction. I had no choice but to choose a different seed whenever this happened.
black.arwing, dump the power item. You don't need it for RNG. When doing RNG, all the IVs are chosen by the gamer, not by the power item, so the item is only making your friend's RNG results random.
I'm doing a capture RNG in HeartGold and the javaRNG found a shiny adamant spread with a seed of af160246. When I'm putting the IVs in the seed finder, am I looking for the lowest frame or af160246?
