omg, luvdisc! the third one is from monster hunter! zomg zomg zomg i love monster hunter.

elm:because not even gamefreak is retarded to the point of making a move that only freeze.

Why is there no attack that freezes without causing damage?
'cause Nintendo hasn't made one.
but really Nintendo probally didn't want to make one in GSC, becuase of how broken it was in RBY, and hasn't thought of making one.

Kingler and Crawdaunt get a status move called 'Crabs'

Crabs
PP: 5
Acc: 100
BP: --
Type: ???

Infects the foe with Crabs. Only works on Pokemon with hair, fur, etc. Does 12.5% damage per turn. Does 25% damage to Reshiram per turn. Once a Pokemon is hit with 'Crabs' they are no longer able to breed.

McLuvdisc, I think Telekinesis will change the Pokemon's ability to Levitate similarly to Worry Seed. It would work well in Doulbes with Regigigas and Slaking.

Yeah, I mean I am a big fan of the originals and find them to be one of the best made. So I would love to see the originals have some new material, new evolutions and such.

So am I. So much a fan in fact that if it isn't from 1st Gen or can't evolve from a 1st Gen poke I don't battle with it. Honestly I could care less about Zoroark, the new starters, or this "OMG awsum Rotm-A Countur!!!11!1!". If I don't get new evos/prevos of 1st gen I'm gonna be a little dissapointed.

I hope Telekinesis does something more useful than that, like preventing them from using ground moves or causes them to take damage when they fall down or something. Sure it would be useful in Doubles but I'm tired of attacks/abilities that are only useful in doubles (like Plus/Minus =_=)

Same here! I really want to see more improvements on the first gen. Buff up some of the lowers. I also want to see Arbok's stats go up. They should add more buffs and evos/prevos from first gen, than the rest, or focus less on the later games.

New type
Hmm, yes, it seems I was unaware of ''what I started''. That's also why I didn't mention it as news, because the information I have is not really that usefull in the whole discussion.

"at this point" actually refers to 2 months ago, when I was last updated on the subject. I only mentioned it now because it was specifically asked for.

btw, the ''Light-type'' I only quoted from the introduction, referring to the rumours. That's why I put it in a seperate paragraph.

I apologize if that has caused any confusion. Like I said, I am not that well informed on the subject of the extra type, so which type it is, is something I wouldn't dare touch with a 10 foot pole at this point.

@RedKirby
I hope by giving a more story-like explanation, I explain things better then giving point by point answers, but if there are still any gaps, feel free to ask.

First of, about 'the source'.
I have personally known him for quite some years now, I know he has had an affiliation with Nintendo, and I know that in the past he has provided me with inside information that was correct.

He does not work at GF himself, but knows someone there, who shares information with him.

Normally, I don't just go for things I hear via via, but in this case, there were two reasons why I did trust him, namely:
1) I personally know him and he has told me correct information before
2) aside from Minotauross and the snake, the information matches up with the information I have personally received from Nintendo.

I have not yet discussed this matter with him in detail, since he's away right now, but there will definitely be some things to be set right.

Nintendo
If you are a video game specialist (journalist/analyst/jack of all trades (I'd probably be the latter)), you keep in touch with the video game companies. This can either be at events (public events, press events or personal invitations), or if I decide to contact them for something.

Now you have the 'normal' PR talks, but like if you are a good customer at a meat shop, you might get a free slice of meat (here in the Netherlands), if you build a relationship with the companies you work with year after year, you get to trust eachother and the company will know what you can do for them. If they know, that your way of reporting, is intelligent, and honest, they know that trusting you with 'off-the-record' information will be in good hands.

Having run the largest Legend of Zelda-website back then, I've build quite a good relationship with Nintendo, and they know that if they trust me with information, it will be put to good use. That's also how I know with most companies, when they tell me something, if it really is all they know, or if they're holding back some information.

Why me
As I've explained before, 'leaking' information can be a very effective way of marketing. As I've mentioned above, if you do your job well and build the right relationships, you sort of get on an A-list; if they have new and/or exclusive information, you could be the one they will share it with. Now I don't mean to say it's like some secret underground pact or something, but when opportunities arrise, or when you bring up a subject, you may be the lucky one to be given the chance.

That's how for instance, I got to confirm the PlayStation Home-feature for the PS3, a sequel to American McGee's Alice, two years before it's official announcement, the releasedate and online functions of NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, or the development and destructable environments of Killzone 3. (end of CV-plug)

It's a relationship, and a status, you develop over the years.

Hmmm... he knows what hes started.

Auto-Freeze could be a bit overpowered...I mean, it's like Sleep but without a move like Sleep Talk. Fire moves can thaw through it I guess but still...not every Pokemon can be expected to have a fire move, can they?

Exactly, with Sleep you can still do something if you randomly decided, or was on a rest talk. But with Freeze, what could you possibly do? You're on grass, that doesn't do anything fire, gg?
Freeze Talk???

how about we not even talk about this overpowered auto-freeze move in the first place? everyone know its broken and if gamefreak does it will probably be banned.

I wanna see improvements too but I gotta admit I'm of the opinion that everything can't be awesome. Some stuff just has to suck. Arbok got Switcheroo and that's nicer than I'd have been to it.

forgot to add this doesnt apply to genderless pokes

I'm actually surprised that only, what...3 fire moves in the game can thaw yourself out? Why doesn't every fire move? And why not make it to where you can't freeze fire or ice types? That just makes sense to me.

Yeah, but I would like to something better done with Gen 1 stuff.
Don't be so cruel to my snake buddy.

Yeah, freeze pretty much means the Pokemon is finished. If all fire moves could thaw, and maybe a decent selection of other moves(Brick Break, all the punches, Dragonbreath etc) then maybe freeze wouldn't be too broken. As long as the thawing moves were competitively viable

Even a percentage to unfreeze would still be decent enough. But only 3 or so moves to unfreeze does not justify a non-damaging freeze.

I'm furious that its an Event one...

I'm just gonna AR and catch a low level one in the wild. Problem solved.

Yeah, he never said what it would be, just a new type.

EDIT: Apparantly, hes the real deal, in terms of being an insider. He still hasnt proven his claims however, so everyone should make of that what they will.
But you would think some one that high up in Nintendo would at least use good grammar and punctuation...But hey; maybe they ARE just as lazy as us :p
