I want to RNG the roamers in HG, and I want to make sure I understood. With JavaRNG, I've found a nice IV spread :
3540916513F 46f43bca (TIMID, ability 0) 31/22/30/31/31/31 (Seed: a21504f7 Frame: 240) HP ICE 70
Then I choose the seed to time finder, and I have to input the location of the two roamers left, but how do I determine that? Do I use their location right before I save, or is there a way to determine where they should be if I it my seed? I'd need help to clear that up.
There are a few people on this forum who can find your SID for you via pokésav or alternate methods. Just ask in the "Simple Requests" forum and someone will probably help you free of charge.I apologise in advance for what I believe will turn out to be a problem of human error on my part but at the moment I cannot see where I’m going wrong.
I also apologise if there's a post solving this somewhere else in the thread - I looked through a random sample of about 50 pages before I got bored of not seeing anything like my problem.
I’ve been trying to use RNG abuse to get a shiny evee for my friend as a kind of birthday present.
I have a shiny weepinbell I caught on a random wild encounter. Upon deciding to use the RNG method I followed all the instructions in the “deducing SID” article thoroughly. I also followed the instructions in the “hatching a shiny egg” article thoroughly. I’m sure that I am entering the information for my seed correctly and I am sure that my ID is correct. I’m not so sure about the SID but that’s because it’s the only thing I can see being wrong.
The first time I tried, to no avail, to get a shiny pokemon with this method I was a little sloppy with my taps so the most recent 4 or 5 times I’ve been thoroughly meticulous.
The pokemon which hatches from the egg is not only not a shiny but also has a nature which does not match with that of the frame it is on. In fact the past few times I’ve tried it I’ve been hard pushed to find the specific nature of the hatched egg anywhere near the shiny on the generated list.
This may or may not be relevant but the amount of taps I’ve been given is generally around 30 on the happiness app. and about 10 on the coin flip (just a rough average). I’ve seen a lot of people quoting much higher numbers than this however I am also using the international breeding option (Japanese ditto).
I just don’t understand what’s going on here and maybe I’m doing something wrong but I’d really appreciate if someone could at least suggest something that could be the problem. Maybe if there’s a way to check that the SID I calculated is correct?
I need a answer. I cannot RNG at all with this happening!I haven't had trouble RNG breeding in a looong time.
But now.. AUGH!
Using the Shiny Egg tab on Time Finder (I already know how to do it)
But when I try to match up my coin flips, (I'm going for 2010 06 12, 23:36:16, with a delay of 602) I get insane stuff like 2010 06 12 23:36:08 with a delay of 534!
Why?? I am getting the right second for sure!

the part in bold applies everywhere, even in areas with wild pokemon; like caves, grass, etc.I'm trying to RNG Riley's Riolu and I'm slightly confused as to how steps affect the RNG. Here's my understanding, and if anyone could confirm or explain, that would be great:
In an area with Wild Pokemon (Caves, Grass, Water, w/e) 1 Step = +1 Frame?
In an area with no Wild Pokemon 128 Steps = +(# of PkMn in Party) Frame(s)?
I hit my seed on one attempt for the Riolu but it ended up being 14 frames over my target, so I'm assuming it's because I took a few steps before the final battle in that cave.
Reposting because no one answered, and I'd really need help on that one.
Hmmmm, I have a question.
I was trying to catch a Zapdos with a 867 frame (all three birds were intact, Zapdos is my first method 1 rng). With no roamers out I figured I needed a total of 428 flips and 128 steps with 5 pokemon to reach 861 and adding the 6 from Zapdos it would give me my magical number.
Well, I went onwards with that for 10 times never hitting the correct frame. In three clear cases I messed up my math for one reason or another, leaving six where I hit another frame and the one where I finally caught the pesky bird. Strange thing was that going through my notes, all those other six times I was always hitting frame 874. So I figured: 874-6 is 868 so if I don't take the 128 steps and one journal flip less, I would totally hit my frame. And so I did.
What really leaves me clueless here is that this also happened to me while going for Palkia (the RNG was also advanced already by seven frames) and the fact that nowhere in this thread or in the guide says something about those strange 7 frames my game was always adding up. I would really appreciate if someone could help me shed some light on these strange frames I have been getting in my last legendary RNG'ing (Because when going for Dialga and heatran it didn't happen to me)
If this is DPPt, then it's possible it took you part of a second longer to hit A, where one of the NPCs moved. If HG/SS, it's still possible but alot less likely since the only NPC there doesn't move too often. Ass for the spread, I'd keep it so long as it doesn't need the attack stat. 1 off in HP isn't too big a deal most times unless it's weak to SR.How is it that on one certain save I sometimes hit a frame of 2 and sometimes 3? On a side note, should I keep a 30/x/31/31/31/31? And gorsh damnit I still can't hit my delay!! I changed to a delay of 637, and I consistently hit either 635 or 639...
Use their location right before you save. Where they should be if you hit your seed is what Seed to Time gives you, not what you put in.
I have a question about the Pikatimer. So everytime I fail to hit my delay, should I put in the other delay and update? Or if I get close to hitting my delay should I continue doing so? When do I stop doing this? Or do I never stop?
Are there any natures that can't be abused for a hex flawless spread?
