@ DDRMaster, very close to what I think the path will be, except that if you look at the top where you do that turn back to the town above the giant pokeball, you will see just above the turn a suspiciously Pokemon-Leagueish castle...

You're right, that castle does look exactly like the Pokemon League in DPPt (atleast from this distance). I guess the part north of there could either be the stuff you do after you beat the Champion (like with the Battle Tower) or something like the path up to Shaymin's area in DPPt.

i think there supposed to be pockets...have you ever seen chicks with the super mega short shorts and the pockets stick out?

Nope, I've never witnessed this particular fashion disaster. Maybe it's a trend in Japan...I wouldn't know.

NESGamer posted this picture a few pages back in which the white spikes were revealed to be part of a skirt she had had shoved down her shorts. It was fanart though, and I think it was intended more as a joke than an actual explanation.

In all honesty, I don't get all the fuss about the female protagonist's appearance. Her skirt is no shorter than May's or Dawns. The only difference is that she doesn't have the high socks. Her hair is a little ridiculous, but hey, this is Japanese pop culture we're talking about here.

hopefully, seeing as there's nothing pathetic about it. it's pretty much on the same level as the super short skirt Dawn wears; at least the daisy dukes are functional for adventuring. hell, May wore skin tight leather pants, or whatever the crap they were. that is much more "pathetic" seeing as they would probably just be uncomfortable, unlike daisy dukes. a lot of women dress like that when it's hot out (most of my friends do), so I don't see how dressing functionally (as well as realistically) is pathetic, while dressing outright ridiculous like the other female protagonists is not.

May didn't wear leather pants...those were her legs, if I'm not mistaken. Of course, this is coming from the guy who only recently learned that Brandon's white head covering is a hat, and not hair...so I may be wrong again. Anyway, I like both the play characters for this Gen. They look a little more realistic, especially compared to those from Gen 3. The one thing I don't get is how the girl is dressed for hot weather (sleeveless shirt, shorts) while the boy is dressed for cold (long pants, jacket). Either he's going to get heat stroke, or she's going to get frostbite. Hey, maybe this is a subtle hint that we'll be able to customize their clothing! I HAVE SAID IT, THEREFORE IT MUST BE TRUE!!!

Either way, am I the only one who thinks it's pathetic to see a female protagonist wearing daisy dukes?

I like the Munna story, but what happened with the mother?

Also, these probably aren't related to this 5th gen's legends, but I want to see some legendaries based on these guys

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ssu_Ling

As would I. I'm thinking they would be Grass/Dragon, Fire/Flying, Steel, and Water (possibly Psychic or Dark as well). Also, if they do base Isshu off of China, they would have to make a Golden Dragon of the Center as well. The only problems I see with them is that the Azure Dragon would get Swords Dance, the Fire/Flying would get raped by SR, and Gamefreak really seems to make legendary trios and nothing else.

I wouldn't mind having these being the basis as the new legends, especially since they were the gods from FFXI (if anyone played that game and remembers them...). I still would love seeing these as being Genbu (I think that is the turtle's name...) being Ice/steel, the bird (forgot name) being Fire/Flying, tiger being Steel, and the dragon being Dragon, maybe given a secondary typing, maybe Grass since it represents spring?

EDIT: Just realized that the turtle would get killed by fire and fight (hopefully it would have huge Def and SpD to make up for it), the bird gets killed by SR, and the dragon has a lot of weaknesses...

Hm, you've made a good point.
The male trainer looks cliche at best.

Hmmm, the fire ape thing's ability means that attacks do more damage, but lose they're secondary affects? Hello base 150 power STAB fire blast

Why would a Tortoise be Water-type again?

You're just pissed off because I insulted your anime "interests". If she was trying to wear something functional, she could wear some damn cargo shorts for all I care. And the purse or handbag kind of takes the place of men's pants and shorts having lots of pockets, so she doesn't really need lots of pockets in the first place. And that being said, most girls agree that skirts are comfortable from what I've heard, so if you're carrying all of your essentials in a purse or handbag, it makes no sense not to wear something comfortable.

I think the crocodile will be fast or maybe have an ability that its speed doubles and cuts in half every turn. So, one turn it is doubled and the next it is halved. That is just what I got from that video. It slowly moves about, then strikes at double the speed.

That'd be interesting in doubles. An opponent may see the crocodile and double-protect the turn it is double-fast, allowing the croc's teammate to maybe set up or something while the opponent is afraid of the croc doing work.

Every 2000 years, it comes up from the bottom of the ocean to see the sun with the eye on its stomach. Not exactly garenteed to be Water (Lugia) but it makes sense.

Edit: @ WarriorPrince: Yes they are, although, the Dragon is more like a cloud and the tortoise is basically Torterra with two heads.

How'd you come to that base power?

It was a complete guess actually. I just increased it by 25 points or so to show how broken it could be.

Anyway, here are my thoughts on where you go in the region. Forgive me if it's illegabal.
Numbers mark the HMs.

So you arrive at the city, battle, beat the first gym. You don't have the HM to cross the desert, so you use your new hm to cross the eastern bridge. Beat jungle gym leader. South part inacsesable. Use new TM to cross desert and go north. Beat gym leader, use hm to go west. Beat gym leader to go through the pair of mountains. Arrive at the small town north of the mountains, use new hm to go south along the mountains and cross the large lake. Use a new HM to go to south jungle area. Opens up path between all sections of the region. Go north to the city, beat gym leader, go to pokemon league. A bit straightforward, with no 8th HM and every city has a gym leader, but I think it's a good rough sketch of what we can expect.
zoroak is event exclusice to japanese people?

No, I think he's pissed because you used the word "pathetic". Obviously you dislike the female trainer's daisy dukes because you don't think they would be functional for an actual adventure, and you feel that dressing females in revealing clothing is demeaning. There's nothing wrong with having those opinions; I myself wonder how those daisy dukes are going to fare in the ice-covered mountains to the far left of the Isshu map. However, you should have been more specific in your original post. Just saying that a girl looks "pathetic" because of her choice of clothing is a sure way to get someone angry.

Let's not get into a flame war over a lousy pair of shorts.

That's a cool idea. Unfortunately, the abilities of the "croc" (Megukoro) have already been confirmed. It will have Intimidate and a new ability which boosts its Attack by one stage when it gets a KO. The Japanese kanji for this new ability can be translated to either "Overconfidence" or "Earthquake Spiral"...take your pick as to which one sounds cooler.

Fuck indeed. As if that wasn't bad enough, the only way to get more Zoroark is to breed the female event Zoroark with the male event Zorua, which, according to the plot of the movie, is supposed to be its child.

Say it with me now, kids: EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
