Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

So, the ID/SID combination is what determines the shininess of your Pokémon. If you're trying to capture Pokémon with perfect IV's and non-shiny, you don't need your SID for anything. If you want shinies but not flawless, you can use your SID to figure out shiny spreads in your game. If you want shiny AND flawless either you breed (using your ID/SID combination to figure out shiny seeds) or you have to abuse your ID/SID combination when you start a new game to be able to capture shiny flawless Pokémon.
So, lets stick with capturing non-shiny flawless Pokémon. Have you downloaded RNG Reporter and PokéRNGDP?

i already have RNG reporter but pokeRNGDP... i dont have it where can i download it? and after i downloaded it, what the next thing to do?

You can find it here. Just download it, you don't need it yet.
First save in an area with high level Pokémon (any area around the Battle Frontier works best, I usually save in the Survival area). Then, turn of your DS.
Now turn it on again and synch your DS time with an external clock with a clear seconds reader. When the seconds hit 0 on the clock, click OK in your DS to set to any hour you want. Let say you synch it to 18:00:00. Imediatly start your game. Exactly when the clock hit 0 seconds again, soft reset (Hold Start+Select+L+R). Enter the game world as fast as you can, (just mash the A button like mad). Once you're in the game world, catch a high level Pokémon (usually more than 47 will do). Now, open RNG Reporter and click "Seed Finder". Now click the "Find Seed By Stats" tab and input your date, time (which would be 18:01 in this case) and the nature, stats and characteristic of the Pokémon you caught. It will give you a delay and seconds value. The delay is how much it took from the soft reset until you hit continue and the seconds value is the DS clock second value when you hit continue. (It will usually be 14-16).
Take note of the seconds and delay on a notebook and repeat a couple of times. This is a very important phase and you only need to do it once. Once you know your seconds value and your average you won't need to repeat this. When you're done with that, tell me your seconds value and delay range please and I'll tell you what to do next.
Let's take this by PM from now on, ok?

If you need a certain spread to be shiny, you can use that seed and try to achieve it when starting the game. If you want more than one good spread, use this sheet by OmegaDonut, it has got seeds which give groups of good shiny spreads.
To hit the needed delay and seconds, you have a good guide at the end of this post by Romsstar. He says that his usual delays are between 5730 and 5740 but mine are actually around 3600 so the calibration phase is really important. I would advise that you start the game as fast as you can and then save and use an AR to find you're SID so that you can know exactly what delay and seconds you hit (read Romsstar post to know how to do this with ID Finder). You only need to do this once. Afterwards, proceed with the calibration. What did was use a timer and get comfortably to the screen before the ID/SID combination is generated. When the timer ended, I pressed A, input the ID in the program and figured out my delay. I did that a couple of times and then searched for a time that would give me a ID/SID combination for that group of spreads within the delays I had figured I could easily hit.
Hope I helped^^

so i have to restart my game? is that what the guide says to do?
hmmm that guide is rather vague for me =/

hmm for me idk if its worth restarting, but ill think about it
thanks for the help!

also does a dlibird really kill salamence?

Your welcome^^
And yeah, an Ice Shard from the standart Delibird set does 124.5% - 148.6% against a Dragon Dance Salamence (without Intimidate being taken in account).

Hey guys. iv'e saved just in front of daycare man, he's holding a shiny pinico, careful nature. Could some1 run through what to do for good iv's? Under the egg iv's tab i found a spread i want, what do i do now?

I forgot is there anything you can do if you're using emloop and the delay you get when checking your seed (Step 9 on the first page) is higher than the delay you're aiming for? Since I won't be able to subtract the checked delay from the aimed delay.

Anyone? If you need me to, I'll explain what I mean, unless there is nothing I can do and will have to use a different spread.

I'm pretty sure there's nothing you can do. It's logical, there's no way to run through the screen faster and that's the only thing that determines the delay so... I guess you can either catch it on wired years (I wouldn't do that) or try another seed.

Not like I have a problem having a pokemon coming from the year 2090, well kinda....yeah I do. That's ok as I have found another seed and am fine. Just had to know though.

If Emloop gives you a delay above the one you were aiming for and you weren't mashing A as fast as you possibly could to get it, just subtract the difference.

Quick question: If I call Joey and he asks me to battle, does that still advance the frame by 2 or no? I forgot that calling him Monday afternoon's made him want a rematch so I need to know if I still get the frame advancement or not.

There are some youtube videos that will help you with that. Below is a post by bearfan092 on the first page of this thread:

This post serves as an easy to find location for the various videos designed to serve as tutorials to those who wish to abuse the 4th generation RNG. These are put in order from what I feel is most basic to most difficult

Enjoy!

I'm using a spread with an encounter code of 6 because I keep trying to catch Mime Jr. in the Trophy Garden. Thing is, I keep getting Staravia. If anything, shouldn't I be getting Pikachu because Pikachu's encounter code is 6?

:EDIT:

NVM I fixed the problem.

I think Joey only advances frames when you are trying to capture a pokemon (i.e. Method K or 1). The frames for nature/ability/shininess are only advanced, one at a time, when you receive or reject an egg. Not even Elm calls can advance the frames (I have confirmed it. I called Elm 10 times to verify my seed and I still get the shiny egg with a desired nature/ability even though the egg is at frame 1). I don't think there is a way to skip through eggs in HGSS as of now.

But of course that's different from the frames for Egg IVs as Elm calls will affect Egg IV frames.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Okay. I figured I was wrong. Joey does in fact advance egg frame. My apologies.

Just now a friend of mine is trying to RNG on his DSi... He can't hit the seed even after several attempts counldn't reach the right seed.

a couple of minutes later he tries with my DSlite and gets the seed right several times actually...

So the question would be: Is there any difference RNGing with a DSi?
edit: BTW his game is SoulSilver..

There shouldn't be. I thought the same thing when I started doing it with my DSi, but now I'm fine.
