Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Why do you add 1? When you Sweet Scent Pokémon it says they have a monster frame of 2 but you never catch them on frame 3, do you?
The monster frame is the frame in which the Pokémon will appear if you do nothing but the action listed (sweet scenting, fishing). If you had to add 1 to the monster frame, you'd say most legends have a monster frame of 0 because they appear on frame 1 xD
Derp -facepalm-. Thanks >____>
It's a miracle I've caught so many RNG'd pokés thus far without understanding such basic knowledge.

Okay this is weird. I caught a pokémon, as I said before that appeared on frame 4. It's actual frame is 20. So I know I'm on frame 25 currently (actual frame[20] + 5). My target frame was 199. If I'm correct, I needed to do this many advances:
199 - 25 - monster frame[4]
199 - 29
170 RNG advances, or 85 page flips.

I did 85 page flips, and fished for a pokémon. I turned out to be on frame 200, instead of frame 199. Does anybody know what's wrong? I know there are no wandering NPC's in the area (I'm in Lake Verity).

EDIT: If it helps, this is my seed: bb16028a

You're welcome^^ Well, the thing is, you did. That's what matters!
(You see, I just made this stupid and basic mistake of hitting a seed just to realize that none of the frames with my desired spread had the encounter slot of the Pokémon I was looking for which is crap... - I caught a Timid HP Grass Growlithe anyway but whatever, I was looking for a Houndour -.- ) I just felt like saying this.

EDIT: Hum... Once again, 1 frame away from the truth. I guess. I dunno this one from own experience but according to Omega Donut,
When using Sweet Scent to advance the frame, your final frame will be the Method 1 frame of the Pokemon you catch (listed as "Actual" in RNG Reporter) + 6.
So, the battle advances the frame by 6, not 5.

Well that's odd, because before battles increased the frame by 5 for me...Oh well it doesn't particularly matter now, because I figured that I had to add 1 for some reason onto the actual frame and finally got the poké :)

Thanks for the help Dusk252

I probably am posting it in the wrong place, but is there any way to change the sound of the "press the button now" beep in pika timer? It'd help A LOT if i didn't have to count along to know what beep is THE beep.

I need help with RNG HGSS,

-I calibrated my delay 5times and I mostly had a delay around 495-497, but I only had 2 seconds every time(That's the first thing I don't get.)...
-I know the delay I need to have(669), so I open Pikatimer and fill these things in:
*Calibrated delay: 495
*Wanted delay: 669
*Calibrated seconds: 11(I think this is my problem, because I calibrated 2 seconds everytime, and it's kinda impossible to do the intro of HG in 4,35 seconds...)
*Wanted seconds: 50
I do everything I need to do, but when I need to call I don't get any matches ever.
I'm inside the daycare HG.

Shiny doesn't come up. Which is why I'm asking in the first place.

If none of those results are shiny for your ID/SID, then you can't get it shiny. Simple as that.

There'd only be a very slim chance that you'd find a spread like that shiny anyway unless you had actually RNG'd your ID specifically to make it shiny, in which case you'd have had to have a seed to make shiny in the first place, making your question redundant.

ARGHHH I can't get it right!!. I need a technical explanation for the +2: is the +2 due to having the wandering NPC, or just because? My seed is now 0A140262, frame 24, in sandgem town Poke mart (1 wanderer). Plus two, 26. Minus one, 25. 12 journal flips, 1 frame short. I thought that letting the wandering NPC take one step is what would let that one last frame advance to reach frame . Am I wrong?

Just because.

No, your frame count is right...unless you have a Pokemon roaming. You need to make sure that the NPC isn't turning while taking that step, too, or else you'll go over.

You weren't resetting on the minute, at the minute of your DS clock, then (that's what determines the seconds). The seconds are arbitrary like that, but 11 is still too small. Try 14 or 15.

I've got a question about the Seed Finder function in RNGReporter. Can you check the seed on any frame or does it not work after a certain number of frames?

I'm going for Jirachi on Pearl right now and I want to know if I can frame advance, pick up my Jirachi, and then check my seed via wild Pokemon encounter. My target frame is 121.

IIRC it works up to Frame 1000 or so, so you should be fine.

Or just use the coin flips.

Did anyone find out how the natures are generated for Wondercard pokemon yet? I have RNG'ed perfectly around 10 times already and have not gotten the right frame. I got the same nature around three times for three different natures though.

Even if we did know, it's not very feasible - the nature changes constantly, probably 60 times a second. You could have a save state in an emulator with the IVs locked in and get a different nature every time you reloaded it.

I'm currently trying to RNG Jirachi (On frame 114)... from what I've received in my two attempts.

The first try I got the Jirachi that corresponded 2 frames before 90(112).

The second try I advanced 2 more frames to make it land on 114, but instead I got frame 116 jirachi...

Right now I don't know if I've got to talk to the delivery man faster or what?

BTW are there any reliable methods to advance frames faster? or more than 1 or 2 a the time?

I don't realy get it, I start pikatimer at the same moment I set the time, and I reset when the first timer hits 0,00.

Bob Saget >.>
I accidentally left my Platinum game in and set the clock to 21:57 or something.
It passed 23:59, but not while the game was on.
I then went back one day (because I made a mistake) and reset the clock to a different time.
Will I loose my current Trophy Garden slot Pokemon?

No, the slot will stay the same

When the 1st timer hits 0,00 you are supposed to start the game!
It's like this:
Set the time - start the timer
restart and wait at the game - pictochat - ds download play screen
press A to enter the game the the 1st timer hits 0,00

Whoa, another random question:
If you hit even high delays like 1260, 1254, 1266, etc., can you hit an odd high delay...?
yeah just do what you normally do to changed the delay from even to odd and vice-versa like adding/removing a 3rd gen cart and stuff like that.
