Another random question... If a Pokemon has Cute Charm, Poison Point, or other contact abilities, will it work past a substitute?

For example: If a Poison Point Roserade used Substitute and the opposing Pokemon uses some sort of physical move, would the opposing Pokemon still have that 30% chance of being poisoned? Or does the Substitute make the physical attack NOT a contact move?

Also, I was wondering if the opposite happens. Let's say the opposing Pokemon used Substitute and attacks a Poison Point Pokemon, will the opposing Pokemon still have the chance of being poisoned?

I hope I made sense.

I want to re-post my question, but I have another question at the same time... Is attract and confusion practically the same? Would confusion always be better than attract because attract is more situational or does attract have a slightly or seemingly higher chance of infatuation as opposed to confusion?

How does this custom spread look for a Bulky Water Milotic in OU?
252 HP/ 244 Defense/4 Special Attack/8 Speed
MovesetL Surf, Ice Beam, Hidden Power Electric, Recover
It gives her 394 HP to maximize her defenses and decent defense of 280 and special defense of 286. She receives maximum coverage to kill Dragons and other bulky waters... the four evs in special attack guarantee the OHKO on Salamence (HP Electric reduces her Special Attack by one), and the 8 speed puts her at the decent 200 to get past all the mediocre attackers.

How can I fix it?

Pokésav allows you to create Pokémon with any desired characteristics that exist in-game, move your character, create items, generate BP and money, so on and so forth. You can either edit your save file directly by using an R4, or you can use a device like Action Replay serving as a middle-man.

Ok so I followed the link and read your post, but HOW exactly can I use an Action Replay to do that?

Pokesav generates a code that you put into your Action Replay. Once you've created a code and put it on your AR just press L and R to activate it in-game.

A better place to ask would be here, or here if it's for OU.

How do you sign up for the Smogon Frontier? Do I just post the needed information into the thread and then start battling Brains, or do I have to wait for something to happen or what? I'm confused...

is pokemon a geographic thing like the dinasaurs? because of like rampargo and stuff. also when did pikachu become available orginally? because i cannot find him anywhere in pokemon platinum for the nintendo ds lite.

Confusion is better- it works on both genders (and genderless) pokemon, has the same chance of activating, and when it does activate, the confused pokemon hurts itself instead of just doing nothing.

Of course, you can utilize both. :pimp:
Parafusionflinchtract ftw.

does Milotic even care about speed in OU?

For ev training, if you KO a pokemon that brings you 2 attack evs, but don't gain a level and then gain a level from koing a pokemon that brings you 2 defense evs, does that mean the 2 attack evs don't count or what?

I don't really understand your first question, but to answer your second, Pikachu is native to Viridian Forest in Kanto, which isn't available to explore in Platinum. You can still catch Pikachu in the Trophy Garden, Mr. Backlot's backyard to his Mansion located directly south of Hearthome City.

What order should I follow?

-Training EVs
-Evolve with Stones (or natural means)
-Give Proteins, Zinc, etc.
-Teach moves
Use vitamins (Protein, Zinc etc) before anything else. Then do the rest of the EVing, and if it wants to evolve or learn a move you want on it, go ahead and let it unless evolving early makes it miss out on a move you want (Chimchar's Nasty Plot, for example).

In shoddy battle no matter how many times I try for some reason, my pokemon's move pool won't appear on the screen
I cant switch either, the little shaded box always stay blank.
this has been going on for a while, can anyone please help?
And I've already tried signing off and downloading shoddy battle again
I do have all of the moves set for every pokemon (duh)

Is the current Jirachi distribution event manipulable (That's really a word?)?
In other words, can I reset the game without saving and not lose my Jirachi?

I could use a quick reply, since I didn't consider this before actually picking mine up and can't save (Or rather, won't) until I know the answer.

If you mean after getting the Mystery Gift Card, then yes, you can reset.

I ended up soft-resetting mine for a good nature and decent IVs.

Okay, another question. Is it possible to overlap mystery gifts? Like, if I decide to wait to pick up my Jirachi until I have a good movepool/nature decided for it, and I've gotten at least somewhat decent at competitive battling, but there's also another mystery gift available, can I activate the second one and still pick up my Jirachi afterward?
