As far as the water fighting type goes (I have hope from the beginning for this type) I really hope this imagine isn't pulling my leg as it has yet to be confirmed. Also does anyone think that GF or someone will respond about a prerelease of the beta?

Actually, it's more or less "confirmed" with the latest episode of the anime, which showed a silhouette of the girl in the pre-production sketches. However, whatever names are on there are probably not right-- the only correct one of the ones we know (basically only the starters) is Pokabu. Mijumaru is something different, and Tsutarja is called as "Ivy". Coromori, the bat, may not be the final name either. But it sounds like it could be. "Coro", which is from the same word as the title of the magazine "Corocoro", is, somehow, onomatopoeia for for something round... I guess the best way to translate it would be the sound something round and bouncy makes, and "mori", from "koumori", which means bat.

But yeah, the evolutions of the starts as well as the other two new Pokemon on there are virtually confirmed.

As far as a legendary trio I expect one good one one decent one and one that GF hates
Gen1 Good Zapdos Okay Moltres Poor Articuno
Gen2 Good Suicune Okay Raikou Poor Entei
Gen3 Better then okay Registeel Okay Regirock Poor Regice
Gen4 (Throws a slight loop) Good Azelf Okay Uxie (loop) Mespirit- not banished to NU but still not great in upper tiers

Manson I realize that the image is pretty much confirmed however the typing of water fighting may not be. It could just be a straight shooting water type that would truly irk me to no end that it looks like a fighter.

I figured you didn't know since you said "has yet to be confirmed", but okay. Yeah, Fighting-type would be great and it looks it to me. But I guess you never know.

I don't see why so many people are obsessing over the Gen. 5 Grass starter. First of all, it's an enjoyable design, but there's no reason to lose your head over it. There's definitely much more promising Pokémon designs from what sources we do have. Second of all, if you're sitting here bitching about the evolution of it, just keep your mouth shut until we see the final evolution of it, and you can continue to keep your mouth shut then. This seems to remind me a lot of the Dratini - Dragonair - Dragonite family.

Just like the new Grass starter, Dratini evolves into something extremely similar to it (except I've never seen somebody bitch about that). However, Dragonair evolves into something that is absolutely different. There is almost no similarity at all between Dragonair and Dragonite, the only similarities you could possibly find would be that they both have appendages extending from their heads, they have similarly shaped heads, and their underside areas are differently colored from the rest of their bodies. So shut up about how the Grass starter's evolution is too similar to its pre-evolution, because it doesn't matter at all until you see the final result

its not that smugleaf2 design resemble the design from the original one, its that the design is horrible, it look almost the same and that is not so bad, but the small changes they did just made him look fucking pathetic.

if smugleaf was completely different and evolved into that i would still say the design sucks. dragonair on the other hand is simple but look pretty nice.

i said before and i am going to say again:i will only have a final opinion when i play and finish the game and the entire fucking dex.

I agree with that final statement. And I'm going to use the starter with the best stat spread and or movepool anyways, forget how they look.

Even though it was probably posted previously...

I don't understand why you people are using anything but the Gen 1 starters as examples as to why small changes in second stage are not new, unusual, or terrible.

However, I do agree with Lucalibur that Tsutarja's evo doesn't look as good Tsutarja did. But there's still a final evolution to get, so.

Interesting tidbit about the designers of Pokemon themselves...I figured the number of them would increase over the span of Pokemon but didn't know about the main designers kind of fading out.

We should really all stop complaining though. At first I was kind of pissed but all 1st evolutions are pretty much the same as their prevos. Cannot wait for the 2nd evos though :P

Why is everyone going against Wotter being Water/Fighting? I think it's a concept that hasn't been exploited at all (although Poliwrath is decent, it's sort of situational and none of its stats are that high). Those are two great STABS and a couple nice resists (i.e. Rock, Fire, Ice). Sure, the Fighting secondary type in starters would be for a third time; however, at least it's not another Fire/Fighting :P

You know that picture could have been a rough draft and the Pokemon and/or character design has since been revised. We can't be sure if their first evolution will look like that until it's officially released.

Lol , I read somewhere yesterday In a website that they're releaseing betas of the game in August(For jap people to test out) we might get some news by that time.

And I'm sorry it was around 6.am in the morning , was sleepy , but if I find the page Il edit the post.

2. The Pokemon.... Desukan is hideous, the plasma grass fighting looking dude is freakish, the woman in the dress is monstrous, Gear is too monstrous for words, Pokabu is the saddest excuse of a fire starter in pokemon history, Mijimaru has a bloody shell embedded on its body, Mijimarus evo is looking horrendous, Winged Kuriboh next to Jessie in that image is horrid and dont get me started on Munna.

lol@opinionsi100%disagreewith. care to explain yourself?

but when a design is shit it really doesnt matter if you like or not, in the end its a shit design.

the design being shit is based on whether or not you like it. they go hand in hand. these designs are no more shit then every other middle starter evo in that case, because at least one person is going to dislike each of them.

the Smugleaf evo looks exactly like everyone should have expected it to; a bigger smugleaf. Mijumaru evo is in the same boat. people should stop complaining and wait for the final evo before they get all uppity. if you don't want to do that, at least explain your hate, because I'm tired of hearing the same repetitive shit every time something new is revealed. if it's such a huge problem, then leave this thread and don't buy the games. simple solution. :|

personally, I only dislike that bat thing. I can see potential for an evolution, but in that stage I think it looks... well, fucking stupid, for lack of a better term... I keep seeing Koffing, only with wings, and... fake. like it would be a Koffing replacement used by another company to avoid lawsuits. it'll grow on me though, I know that.

by the way, looking at the Mijumaru evo, it looks like the shell is gone... however, it seems to have a sash or something going across it's chest. maybe the shell turns into armour? the picture is too blurry to really judge.
