Man you made me think of something: Our grass starter looks like it could be the "fix" of Sceptile. I mean, they really look similar thus far. And Sceptile is great but has been ruined by the physical/special split. The new Grass starter should just be a physical sceptile. *MY best wish*Probably just leaf blade but water :P
I'm hoping for something more exciting than that d:
Samurai Otter:
physical set:
waterfall/new powerful physical water move/shell blade
close combat
ice punch/other powerful new physical ice move
aqua jet/return/other powerful (possibly new)physical normal move/powerful (possibly new)physical electric move
special set:
surf
ice beam
aura sphere
close combat
if sad otter does become a samurai, shell blade could very well be its signature move
aura sphere lololol. why people think they can just give aura sphere to any pokemon? its not that simple, aura sphere is not a common atack like tackle and togekiss is the only pokemon that learn aura sphere while it dont make any sense.
Yeah, I don't see that Otter thing learning Aura Sphere, lol.aura sphere lololol. why people think they can just give aura sphere to any pokemon? its not that simple, aura sphere is not a common atack like tackle and togekiss is the only pokemon that learn aura sphere while it dont make any sense.

And since we haven't gotten our epic fire boar yet...Mijumaru, I CHOOSE YOU!!!!
i am neutral to emo clown evo, its not horrible like thugleaf but its not amazing(still cool though).
water/fighting is a great defensive typing but if he is a offensive pokemon then it might cause some problems.
You guys are absolutely right about the lack of creativity. Smugleaf should have evolved into an octopus and the otter into a vulture. Lazy asses.
What I think is really interesting AND an example of generational art growth is the fact that we've yet to see evolutions of Pokemon that are essentially just fusions of multiple prevos. Examples include Weezing, Magneton, Dugtrio. I think Game Freak has moved on from this sort of copout on creative thinking, moving onto evolutions that are different and inspiring. Correct me if I'm wrong but after Gen 1, I can't think of any of these triplet-fusion evolutions. Just shows that the styles of Pokemon and GF's art very much evolves.
Ah, so the art was confirmed!! That's GREAT news for the otter, and the grass snake... looks hideous, to be honest. Hopefully the 3rd form will be vastly different!
But with that Fighting-looking evo, and it's new attack "Shell Blade"... a Samurai otter sounds so amazing, and plausible. If it happens, I'm going to need a fresh change of pants on hand. Samurai Otter... COME ON, GAMEFREAK!!!
...in other news, I am saddened by the potential replacement of Zubat in that round-furball-bat-demonwinged-thing.
After all these years of being trolled by Zubat in every cave, tunnel and forest, I've come to enjoy my pain and suffering. My body won't be able to adapt to a change in stimuli....
Pokebeach said:There's a team of people that is in charge of monster design. They're listed under "Pokemon Design." They come up with the ideas. They decide which ones are the best and refine them. Then, Ken Sugimori draws those designs. In the first generation, it was a group of four people (Sugimori being one of them), and Satoshi Tajiri's role (the creator of Pokemon) in creating the monsters was basically to approve them and suggest changes after the basic ideas were being designed. He's the only one under "Director" and "Game Design" for the first generation which means that he was in charge of pulling everything together and the overall experience of playing the game.
Nowadays... well, the truth is that in Ruby and Sapphire, Junichi Masuda took over. Ever since R/S/E, Satoshi Tajiri has not been working on the games at all. He's listed as "Executive Director" in most games. What does this mean? "Executive Director" is a fancy way of saying "this is the original creator, he approved this game but was not an active part of development." Occasionally he's listed as an "Executive Producer," which, from what I can gather, means he funded it but was still not an active member in developing it. Finally, in Pokemon Rumble (surprisingly enough), only Sugimori and Masuda are listed in the credits as "advisers" for the spin-off game. Tajiri is not listed at all.
So, Satoshi Tajiri is not really putting his mind into the monsters anymore. However, there is another part of why the monsters look different. The "Pokemon Design" of D/P/Pt was held by thirteen people. Ten of these people did not work on the first generation's Pokemon; Shigeki Morimoto (he's the guy who put Mew into the game) also stopped doing monster design during D/P/Pt. What does this mean? The people coming up with the Pokemon ideas are, mostly, different people each generation. R/S hired a ton of people, and that's why the third generation's style was so different. Black and White has also hired more people.
Thus, the main reason why the Black and White Pokemon look weird is because the design team has new people on it. Also, Satoshi Tajiri hasn't worked on the games for a looooong time (since the Gold and Silver days), thus the reason why Gen III and Gen IV looked so different from Gen I and Gen II. And now Gen V could look very different as well.
A flying serpant thing sounds so cool! It would be my favorite starter of all time :DHOLY CRAP samurai warrior coloring of Mijumaru evo is AMAZING. Dayyuummm. Water/Fighting for sure!! 8D
Smugleaf evo looks a bit awkward, because it's body got thicker/bigger but it's limbs got... Smaller. It's eyes look more snakey though. It definitely grew on me, but Mijumaru for me all the way :p.
What I think will happen with Smugleaf, is that as it evolves its limbs shrink but it's body lengthens, so the final form will actually be a huge serpent. Those leaves that grew on Smugleaf 2.0's back look like "baby" wings... So it might evolve into a badass flying serpent. How is Grass/Flying typing wise? The only other Pokemon of that type is Tropius (Ahh Tropius, you might suck competitively but you're kinda awesome).
LOL
Yeah I'm glad they have, GenI was full of 'em but it's all good I still find them interesting but I'm glad they don't abuse that anymore. The only ~fusion~ evolution line after Gen1 (IIRC) is the Beldum-line. Metang is 2 Beldum fused, and Metagross is 2 Metang fused / 4 Beldum fused.
So is this "Shell Blade" like confirmed? I've never heard of it.
