Thats what I was thinking,something like this,but with no arms and legs.

Honestly, that's the best fanart I've seen yet, and the most plausible after seeing the sketch of it's 2nd form. It's still not going to be Dragon-type, though. Right now, it looks pure Grass type imo, but I hope they don't leave it that way or it will be a Sceptile clone.

Also, Water/Rock for the Otter's evo? Please, no. It's a horrible defensive typing and Rock makes no sense with the samurai idea either. Water/Fighting all the way.

I'm just going to throw out there that Grass/Dragon is the only possible Dragon typing that hasn't been done yet that still retains the obligatory x4 Ice Weakness.

Since Smugleaf is based on grass snakes, which aren't venomous, I personally doubt it will be Grass/Poison, but you never know.

Though what's up with the serious comparison of Rock/Water to Water/Steel? Steel is a vastly superior defensive secondary typing. It may have almost the same weaknesses, but it was many, many more resistances, including Dragon and SR. Even if Grass isn't used so much, Swampert ensures that you'll still find pokemon running it for coverage.

Dragon-types don't necessarily have to maintain a x4 Ice Weakness(Kingdra). Also, it could be another Charizard-esque pokemon. Resembling a dragon, but having a Flying secondary type.

Actually, I'm willing to bet they were beta names, not simply "nicknames." Mijumaru's name is "Rakkomaru". Its evolution is Rakonosuke. Notice how Rakonosuke has one less "k"? Because it had to be shortened, since it would have broken the 5-character limit. This is fine for us, but it probably changed the meaning of the name some how, or perhaps they simply just didn't want to shorten it. But they probably wanted to have both Mijumaru and its evolution to have the same prefix, so they changed Rakko/Rako to Miju. An educated guess on the evo's name would be Mijunosuke. Its last evo probably won't have it in there, though.

Also, I say again, 10 bucks says Mijumaru's last evo is going to end with -zaemon.

Makes perfect sense. It just adds more and more to the idea that these are beta sketches and Tsutarja's evo won't be so... duck-like.

Oh please no... Grass/Flying would make it worst. Here's hoping for a truly Dragon second typing. Even though it wont be Overused Pokemon..

The typing itself is really not that bad. Weak to Fire, Flying, Ice, Poison, and Rock. It only adds Rock, which is bad because of Stealth Rock, but hopefully it'll get some changed mechanics anyways. Plus, it resists Fighting, Grass, Ground, and Water, which are a pretty good palette of resistances. Grass/Flying would be better than the other likely candidate, Grass/Poison, because Tsutaja doesn't seem like it'll be bulky (therefore the ground immunity helps a lot).

Grass/Dragon is the only type for me when it comes to Smugleaf. Even though it's so unlikely :/
Yup a dragon in early game is less likely to be not to mention for a starter. But seriously if Tsutaja would have a Dragon as a second type it'll be epic!

Well of course Grass/Flying isn't that bad but it would be disappointing since Jumpluff and Tropius already have this type combination. Yup it looks fragile but also fast and a sweeper.

I also want onother twin pair of Pokemon,like Plusle and Minun,they were always my favorite to use in RSE.
But Grass/Flying is the most likely because if you think about it, the variations and diffrences in types for the starters finals is getting more diverse
So my pick is
Wotter final-Water/Rock
Smugleaf final-Grass/Flying
Pingnite final-Fire/Ground

Mijumaru- Water/Fighting
Tsutaja- Grass/Dragon
Pokabu- Fire/Electric (Just cause of its yellow patch color). Fire/Dark is likely too.

I dont think that Fire/Electric is in the cards,its always a sub type like Fighting/Steel/Flying/or Ground
And said before,a early Dragon is just not going to happen,but that would be awsome.

But if something unexpected happened with type combination this generation will be the "Variety Type Combination". Look at Reshiram and Zekrom; Dragon/Fire and Dragon/Electric respectively.

I hope not,because we dont need any crazy combinations,and you are saying its electric based on a yellow spot,thats like saying Wotters going to be part fire because of its nose.

Lol. Well it'll be fun though. But yeah, who knows what gamefreak would do. Lets just wait patiently and hope for some good news.

But if that's the case, where do you get Wotter's evo as Water/Rock? Unless I'm missing something big :/

Of course, none of our opinions matter because GameFreak is probably not reading page 600-whatever on this thread.

That being said, I think it'd be more safe to say that Pokabu is Fire/Ground or maybe Fire/Dark. I'd like Fire/Electric to be a non-starter- how awesome would it be for its two abilities to be Flash Fire/Motor Drive? :P

What does making it worse or better matter? GameFreak isn't going to make every pokemon OU like everyone wants. Not every pokemon is going to be suitable for standard play.
And Grass/Flying is hardly bad if you have the stats and/or moveset to use it. Shaymin-Sky Forme.

The fact that EVERYONE's first complaint about a defensive Fire-type is "SR weak not good" doesn't show me Fire can't be good defensively... it shows me that a Pokemon is considered less viable because it is weak to ONE WHOLE MOVE: Stealth Rock. Which is why it needs to be changed.

It's just ridiculous when you step back and realize how strongly SR has shaped the metagame and reshaped everyone's thoughts on battling.

And Spenstar... I really don't see that happening, lol
Wouldn't Fire/Ground typing get nuetral damage from SR though?

Smugleaf final-Grass/Flying
Pingnite final-Fire/Ground

Wotter final = Water/fighting
Smugleaf final = Grass/Flying (changed my mind from steel, this actually makes more sense now)
Pignite final = Fire/Ground

To me this seems fairly balanced. Except Smugleaf would own on Wotter, although Swampert owned Blaziken just as much in Gen 3.

one more thing
I noticed this trend kinda in the images
Wotter-> Samurai
Pignite-> Ninja (the bandanna)
Smugleaf-> ???
