Welcome to smogon Khan!!! (and wonderful username).

That's not a terrible poke for a Soft Reset like that, and yes you can get +100EVs in in one level. I've gotten all 512 in on Pokes that come at level 50 before (like Heatran in Platinum and whatnot). Here's a good EV guide.

Goodluck!

@ Aurabreloom: It ends on the 16th, according to Serebii.

@Ultima: I would go with leftovers on tentacruel because it has such good specially defensive capabilities. However, the last page notwithstanding, Blacke Sludge does well if there is item clause, or I suppose something like life orb on a weird tank set, but I would avoid that.

1. Ignoring level up moves, does it matter when a PKMN evolves (as far as stats are concerned at level 100)?
E.g. Evolving Chansey at level 2 vs. Evolving Chansey at level 99.

2. Does anyone know what FOUR types hits all (or 13+ types) types in the game?
I know a combination of ground, fighting, ice, and electric hit 13 out of 17 types (if I'm correct).

Is the chance of catching a pokemon on a certian try (like the 24th pokeball thrown at the pokemon) determined by the seed (or the frame you were at at the start of the battle), or is there some other factor to that probability?

I'm asking this here because the RNG questions thread almost never gets an answer.

I need a fire type in my HG team in game. I chose Chikorita as my starter earlier.. Choices are; Cyndaquil, Growlithe, Vulpix, Magmar.

Something weird happened. I was told Rotom Formes remain if using wifi against someone with platinum, ss, or hg. Yet mine converted back anyways. Why?

@ Klutch: 1) No.
2) The most is 13, which is hit by Ice along with any of:
Ground Fire Ghost
Ground Fire Dark
Ground Fight Flying
Ground Fight Ghost
Ground Fight Dark
Ground Flying Ghost
Ground Flying Dark
Ground Rock Ghost
Ground Rock Dark
Fight Rock Ghost
Fight Rock Dark

@ FUCK: I think that it is determined by the seed that the RNG is up to when the ball is thrown, but I'm not entirely sure.

@ Phadunk: I would go with Growlithe, because I think Arcanine is cool, but it's up to you

how do you max EVs for little cup with a legit pokemon game? Is there a way to stop the pokemon from leveling while still getting EVs?

you gotta max out vitamins, then give 6 pokemon exp shares and battle the lowest leveled pokemon possible. Make sure your (ev trained) pokemon isnt the first in the party

Hi, I wanted to ask some question regarding critical ratio. I noticed theres a different decription between Smogon and Serebii/Bulbapedia regarding the Super Luck Ability. Smogon's description is add 1 stage to the critical rate while the others are double the crit rate stage.

For example, I'm using Absol with Super Luck, scope lens to perform Night Slash. What is the chances for performing a critical hit? Since with scope lens and Night Slash, I get a base of +2 or 25% crit rate.

If i use smogon formula it would be +3 or 33.3% while serebii formula would be +4 or 50% crit rate...

They do work locally, not over wifi though.

It's 33%; raising the critical hit stage one makes getting a critical hit twice as likely. Look at this page for reference: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Critical_hit#Critical_hit

Like bulbapedia says, it is 50%, not 33 when all the conditions are met (Critical hit moves used in combination with Super Luck and a Razor Claw or Scope Lens.) because Super Luck doubles the modifier ((+2)*2). But if Super Luck only raise one stage then it would be ((+2) +1).

You're completely right, I'm sorry. It appears that the Bulbapedia descriptions and Smogon descriptions differ, if I'm reading the Smogon one correctly. I don't know which one is right, and I'm sorry for answering your question incorrectly. I'll try to find out, but we might just be reading the Smogon description wrong and the person who wrote it meant that it doubled the critical hit chance, or Bulbapedia could be wrong.

EDIT: Marriland seems to agree with bulbapedia, http://pokemon.marriland.com/hgss/pokedex/absol/, but veekun agrees with Smogon: http://veekun.com/dex/abilities/super%20luck. Now I'm really unsure, but I think that Smogon's description is probably the right one, as Bulbapedia is user-generated and thus prone to error, while Smogon's facts are checked. Also, it seems pretty easy to misunderstand raising the crit rate one level as doubling it, because until level 4, it is doubling the last level. But I don't know, so I'll see if I can PM a mod or something.

Can I get an Event Pokemon (Jirachi) to my other games via Mystery Gift? I have The wondercard on my HG, and want to send it to Platinum and Pearl, to get a second RNGable and a soft reset Jirachi.
