Challenge The Scramble Challange

you've got to be kidding me. i have to do a lv. 1 elekid? can i at least trade it now while im just starting? and also, i was a little confused. can i evolve it if i teach it tbolt or lv. 37 is the only time i can?

@imapedarsag: Take a Starly. It cannot defeat any of Gardenia's Pokemon, and it cannot evolve until after you defeat Maylene. It cannot have more than 2 STAB moves, and it must be a Staraptor by the time you face Byron.

You know what? Just make it an Electabuzz. No evolving.

I originally meant for you to start with it along with your Chimchar, so Level 1 would be fine if you can trade it from another game. Otherwise just catch an Electabuzz later. I'll leave it up to you.

Elekid can't evolve until level 30, so you either have to TM Thunderbolt, or you have to wait until level 37 to teach it Thunderbolt by level-up.

@imapedarsag

get the porygon from veilstone. to evolve into pory2, it has to successfully use conversion to change itself into a electric type and then use magnet rise to make yourself have NO WEAKNESSES xD. to evolve into pory-Z you have to successfully magic coat something back (t-waves, leech seeds, etc.)

@vratrix
i nominate everyone who has not completed their challenges as the "worst chalengee", and i nomiate A1 for the hardest challenges :P (oh and the two people who suggested the wingull and the dragonair challenges on the front page)

@imapedarsag, catch the first Scyther you see and name it Isaac (male) or Zenna (female). It must always know Substitute via TM, and it can only evolve if it defeats 10 Pokemon on your first run through Iron Island with no healing items.

@imapedarsag

Take a Buizel. It may evolve into Floatzel upon reaching Level 39, knowing the moves Swift, Aqua Jet, Agility, and Whirlpool. It may forget ONE and ONLY ONE of those moves after evolving.

1. Best Challengee.
2. Best Challengee that isn't Frank Ripley.
3. Most Impossible Challenges.
4. Most Fair/Balanced Challenges.
5. Lamest Challenges.
Last and least
6. Worst Challengee.

I second the notion that Treadshot A1 should be given the 3rd award, for Most Impossible Challenges.

Hmm, i need to finish mine to avoid worst challengee, then.

Can i nominate whoever it was that made me catch a Girafarig for the Lamest Challenges award? zdrup15, i think it was. That challenge is freaking insane. I spent over an hour, twice, trying to find one, double checking i was in the right place, on the right game, at the right time, everything. And i still didn't get one! :(

Also, nomination for Paradox808, for awards #2 and 6. Reason? He's the best because he had a electric only Pachirisu, and he's the worst because, you guessed it, he had an electric only Pachirisu and wouldn't stop complaining about it. Actually on second thought, make that only a nomination for award #6. ;) I guess Dexington deserves and Honorable Mention in Category #6 as well.

ouch, go flame the person who gave you the chimchar xD

possible loophole you could have exploited: go into route 207 and evolve chimchar, since it lies between the gym (which has roark inside it) and eterna city!

i'm just gonna reclarify my nominations

1: frank since he ran through a buttload of these things. and mattman for starting the thread :D

2: treadshot, since i had interesting conversations with him on this thread

3: treadshot again. do i need to explain :P

4: i honestly don't know, everyone has given out an insane challenge at least once.

5: 95% of challenges are not lame. the other 5% idk.

6: everyone who started a challenge and failed to complete it (not people who are still actively doing their challenges). if they gave up then that's just WEAKSAUCE.

I would be the one to flame, sorry. I meant between getting the badge from Roark and meeting with Cheryl in Eterna Forest (which imapedarsag indeed did).

You guys literally made Roark impossible for me. I won by teaching my poor Chimchar Rock Smash and praying for the defense losses.

Don't worry, i think it's kinda normal for a DPPt challenge. I started with Turtwig, for god's sake, and i only scraped past Roark's Cranidos after if crit and flinch haxed me.

The rest of the game is much easier, and you have a Buizel. Trust me, that and the Starly will be lifesavers throughout the game. My advice: Once you get the bike and Fly, go back to Oreburgh Gate, and head down to the lower floors, to find TM31 Brick Break. Buizel must have that. :)

Oh, come on! You said you were happy when I gave it to you. Besides, you caught a chimecho which is more rare than girafarig.
When will the results come out? Because I'm still doing my challenge.

Well, i can say that i found and caught the first Chimecho i saw, but i haven't seen a single Girafarig yet. I would be quite hapy with an Agility BP Girafarig, over this crap windchime i have, but what are you gonna do, huh?

Anyways, Ta Buzz the Golbat is awesome. 4x resist to Fighting. Sweet!

Whitney's Miltank. I'm just sayin. Damn thing will Infatuate you, flinch you to death with Stomp, and then just when you finally score a hit, it heals with Milk Drink.

Or you can do the sane thing and bring a Double Hit Nidorino. Simple. :)

Also, you can actually just switch to a female pokemon, y'know. Duh. Much easier. Lest you're doing an all male challenge...

Hmm, well, I could use another, mmore light-hearted challenge when I'm frustrated by my FireRed Nuzlock.

Game: Pokemon Platinum
Tradeing: No

Special Rules:
At least 1 pokemon [Not counting Starters] must be obtainable by Roark... I don't want to be forced to do a run with a massivly overleveled starter, that's no fun.
At least 2 by Gardinia
All 6 must be obtainable before Volkner

No Unevolveable Kricketots, honestly, I'm shocked they're not on the useless list, at least for Diamond and Pearl... they're worse than Combee, and he's on there [At least Combee gets STAB Gust...]. Kricketots must evolve no later than lv 16.

Only sensible names. I'm not giving any of my pokemon dirty names.

Okay, since you want easy, i'm gonna not give you a pokemon, since everyone here seems to complain about my challenges.

On second thought, what the heck, take a Kricketot. Evolve at Level 16. Call it "Combee jr." and make sure it knows at least one stab move, and one non stab move. Catch the first one you see (if you fail, hmm...tough luck, guess it's your choice if you catch the next one or just don't get a pokemon), so you can't look for natures and the like.

Oh, and by the way, where do i get those pokemon sprites (I see pokemonelite2000 has them, is that it)? Coz i just beat my Scramble challenge! Yay! Hip Hip Hurray for absolutely cheap strategies! Yeah! :) :) :)

Where did I say I wanted easy? I'm doing a Nuzlock. It's almost impossible for a Scramble to be as irritateing as that, because it dosen't have a start over clause.

OK, so, team so far:

Agilineck, the Girafarig: Must know Agility and Baton Pass, must never leave team [Never used one of these before XD]

Combee.Jr: Kricketot: Must evolve at Lv 16. Must be the first one found in the wild. Must know at least one STAB move as soon as it can learn one, and one Non-STAB.

Sergeant, the Piplup: May not evolve until it KO's a Gym-leader's pokemon with Fury Attack. No further evolution until it acheives the same feat with Drill Peck

Still Required: 3 more pokemon obtainable before Volkner, one more obtainable before Gardinia

As for my avatar... I found it on Google, to be honest. I've had it for so long, I have no clue where I found it. All I know is it was copyright free, I checked that.

EDIT: Added Sargeant, started, as I have what's required to get to Roark at least.

@Raikaria: Bring a Piplup named Sergeant. It may not evolve into Prinplup until it KOs a gym leader's pokemon with Fury Attack. It may not evolve into Empoleon until Prinplup KOs a gym leader's pokemon with Drill Peck.

So, I'm continuing my challenge.
I'm training my gastly because it has to solo whitney with only payback and sucker punch (because no tms work on him) so I'll have to train him up to lv. 30 and I still think that won't be enough.

Raikaria, I used that girafarig on my first platinum playthrough and it just murdered team galactic.

Yeah, I doubt lv 30 will be enough, because Whitney's Miltank has Scrappy, so Stomp hits you... with Gastly's bad Defense...

Oh, he's a traded Gastly, sorry about that then. [Although, if you caught him, he will obey still, the level limit is only for traded]

Now for what no one really has been waiting for. The first annual Scramble Challenge awards. This is your host William Shatner. Now sit back, relax and see how 4 people (5 including that Vratix dude) voted. Also, not every Category has 5 votes. Thank you to the 4 people who actually responded, you have made all of this possible. Also, PBS made this possible through sharing its viewer donations.

1. Best Challengee.
Winner:
Frank Ripley. Duh.

2. Best Challengee that isn't Frank Ripley.

Nominations:
Superpoketroid for the Seel on pp 19
Mattman324 as the creator, the Ultimate Challenger

Winner:
Mattman324. With four votes.
Also, he is winner of best speller of the word "Challenge."

3. Most Impossible Challenges.

Nominations:
Dogfish 44 for the Magikarp on page 16
NMcCoy for the Seel on page 19
Treadshot A1 for general douche-iness

Winner:
Treadshot A1. With 3 votes. Apparently, this thread thinks you're a douche.

4. Most Fair/Balanced Challenges.

Nominations:

There were none. Apparently this category sucks. I didn't want to arbitrarily pick a winner. If I DID pick one it would probably be either:
Acritter or Res Ipsa Loqiutur who both made a point of looking at the rest of a team before assigning as to keep from redundancies and/or discrepancies from occurring.

5. Lamest Challenges.

Nominations:

Zdrup15 for his recent Girafarig
Fangren for the Dragonite on page 15 (this is supposed to be a challenge)

Winner:
Zdrup15. With two votes. Lol

6. Worst Challengee.

Again, no real nominations. This time I won't speculate as it's somewhat mean to point fingers (looking at you **********).

This concludes the highly anticipated First Scramble Challenge Awards Show. We look forward to new nominations in the next installment. This is Bill Shatner, signing off.

Wow, I won for giving people a good and original pokemon that they were happy with?

Well, I wanna say that this prize was only possible with the support of my family and friends. And treadshot for being the first to vote in me (who was the other?) looooooooooool

LOL Where's my gold trophy?!?!?! I want it to have engraved proudly: "Biggest Scramble Challenge Douche 2010".

I'd like to say a big thanks to Paradox808, and once i get my trophy, i'll send it to ya, bro. You deserve it more than i do. ;)

Also, congrats to zdrup15, you deserved to win, man. :)
---------------------------------------------------
Anyways, i can't find any decent sprite image things, so i'll just post my pokemon as they are in the Hall of Fame and a short comment for each one (it's a long list):
Lorak
Lv.55 Male Torterra
Bite
Giga Drain
Leech Seed
Grass Knot

My starter, and therefore awesome. Helped out a lot in the early game, and my only reliable Gyarados counter. SeedStall will always be awesome.

Bibarel
Lv. 21 Bibarel
Defense Curl
Strength
Rock Climb
Rock Smash

HM Slave. Sorry, thought you might come in handy against, well, somebody, but alas, no such luck. Thanks for ridding Lorak of Rock Climb, though.

CaptFalcon
Lv.50 Staraptor
Double Team
Brave Bird
Aerial Ace
Fly

What is there to say, really? All around good player, great revenge killer, bloody fast...Just plain awesome really. Beating 5 of Cynthia's pokemon by yourself is an amazing feat. Double Team hax will always be forever the one best in game tactic ever. MVP.

November
Lv. 52 Female Floatzel
Brick Break
Pursuit
Waterfall
Surf

Great early on, never let up from then on. Brick Break sealed the deal, there wasn't anything that stood up to you. Nice job, and runner up on the MVP award, for smashing Cynthia's Lucario.

Psybell10% (I need better nicknames, i know)
Lv. 44 Chimecho
Psywave
Heal Bell
Double-Edge
Safeguard

Great in Sunyshore gym for it's Heal Bell. Cures Paralysis very well. That's about it. Sorry, mate, but you really didn't do much. Well done for standing up to Lucian's Bronzong, taking Psychics like a champ. :)

Ta Buzz
Lv.50 Crobat
Air Slash
Confuse Ray
Fite
Shadow Ball

Confusion hax is awesome. Ta Buzz, though i regret catching you at Lv. 13, instead of Lv. 34, well done. Haxed so many Gabites during Victory Road, and switched in on Machokes without breaking a sweat. Epic. That amount of speed, with Confuse Ray is awesome. Nice job. :)

I can see why the Giraffe got votes... despite being rather bad as a pokemon, basically telling someone 'Hey, use Agilipass' makes things really easy with any decent attacker.

Of course, IDK how easy it'll be to get Agilipass off in-game, I've not got that far yet...

Oh, and still waiting for 1 more pre-Gardinia, and 2 more anything before Volkner in addittion to that.
