Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I'm SRing for IVs on DPPt: I'm aiming for Frame 9, but I seem to always land on Frame 2 if I just cancel the Journal immediately. I don't have any Pokemon roaming, so if I want to hit Frame 9 I need to release one roamer and flip the journal three times right? Is there a way to get to Frame 9 without releasing a roamer? Also I'm wondering whether I'm only hitting Frame 2 because of position the NPCs were in when I first saved: i.e. if I release a roamer and re-save in front of the egg man, who's to say I won't just end up hitting frame 4?

Jonathan: When you're SR-ing for IVs, your target frame should always be a multiple of 2 with your save frame. That said, it seems that your save frame is 2, so you're aiming for target frames of 4,6,8,10,12,etc. It won't work with a target frame of 9.

Christian (or anyone else): Care to clarify what you mean? If I have a particular seed that I like...how can I alter it so that the delays increase while the frames decrease?

Bakus, try using Wichu's program with a different minumum delay. So if you're usual delay is 600, try telling it that your minimum is 800 or 900 or higher. I have gotten different seeds for the same IV spread doing this. Whether this makes for a better frame count remains to be seen.

No, if you're sure you're at save frame 2, then change your frames on RNG Reporter Time Finder and you're good to go ^^

I'm definitely sure I'm saved at frame 2 (just tried it again). Can you elaborate on changing my frames on the RNG Reporter Time Finder please =)

Question regarding characteristics: Is the characteristic determined by the parent's (A's) Iv, or the Iv generated by the seed?

Jonathan: On time finder, there's a place where you can enter minimum and maximum frames. Just enter in 2 for minimum and 14/16/etc for your maximum. There's a box right below where you can click: odd/even should match. Generate and pick something you like. You just have to alter the date and time but the save frame remains the same so you don't have to start over ^^

Maybe my guides might help you with your breeding project.

Open time finder on RNG Reporter, input all the info necessary and also change your max frame to a lower amount so you don't have a lot of journal flipping to do, if you are doing RNG on DPPT.

Do I need to insert a GBA cartridge to hit even delays?

This will switch you from odd to even, but you can, if you have enough time, scroll the Pokemon game continue screen all the way down to the lowest page and then all the way back up to continue to make it switch from odd to even or vice versa. Do the second option only if your have sufficient time for your second timer countdown.

Okay I see what you're saying now, but the problem is I can't find a spread I like when I do that (the one I'm looking for doesn't show up and I can't find any other good ones). So can I just re-save and try to hit an odd frame? Should be a 50/50 chance right, and I can easily verify it?

You can do that as well if you want. I usually just look for a higher frame so that I don't have to spend time re-calibrating but either one will work.

What do you mean it gave you different ones? Are you sure it didn't just start a few calls back (it is possible if an NPC moved and advanced your frame before you did the calls). If not, I would assume that I hit the right delay and continue the abuse. If you did hit it you will get your pokemon, and if you didn't then at least you will know you didn't turn it off after you hit your delay.

It's wrong anyways I need a frame 7 and I called 10 times.

Then just go catch a wild pokemon real quick if you can and use the seed finder to see what it says. I doubt that both seed to time and seed finder would both be wrong, so if it says that you hit it, then you may want to make note of what the calls were.

Okay so on two consecutive resets, I managed to land on an odd and then an even frame (11 and 10 respectively). What gives? I thought once you've saved on an odd frame you can't get spreads on an even frame, and vice versa. This is for DPPt IV Breeding by the way.

It happens because your save frame is not constant. You have to be 100% sure that it's on one number...or pretty darn close to that or you're going to have a tough time with SR for IVs. Try saving when the two girls and pachirisu doesn't move at all for long enough so that you can pick up the egg (should only be a sec). That's what I generally do to ensure a decrease chance of frame jumps, lol.
