@Ishni: Yes, it is possible. The only difference is that it's IVs/nature/shiny status is determined once you finish talking to Steven (you walk out of the pokemon fan club and he'll walk up to you). You will need to use Method 1 on the RNG Reporter instead of Method K for abusing roamers, so make sure you know your target frame.

Oh, and if you already released it by accident, you can kill it and re-release it by defeating the E4. Just note that you will have to abuse it before you face Lance. Iirc, there is a guide for it on the first page of this thread.
 
I know this is just going to be one of those noob mistakes but...

I've RNG'd like 7 different "Dragon Eggs" in various runthroughs of HG/SS. I just RNG'd a Giratina yesterday using my TRU Arceus. I somehow misplaced/released my HoO one that I captured myself with a hacked AzureFlute, so I got a new one from Ditto off #smogonwifi. It IS Hall of Origin. However, when I walk up to the front door of the building in the Ruins, the guy doesn't run out to bump into me like before, and the event doesn't start.

Anybody know what I might be doing wrong?

I think you just go back down the ruins with your Hall of Origin Arceus. I did this once and I think that's how it goes. It was a few weeks back now and I have a bad memory. Just try going into the ruins.
 
As a lot of you probably already know, the enigma stone event is only a few days away. For the lati@s that is outside the museum, will you be able to walk away, or do you challenge it the moment it appears, kind of like how walking close enough to the champion will make you automatically challenge him?

I don´t think so. YOu can check on the second post of the first page. Since it is a gift pokemon, I think it is method 1.

Nvr mind, beaten to punch. As for rnging wild pokemon, can someone explain how you make sure the pokemon you want is the one you´ll find? I didn´t understand well the above explanation
 
RNG abusing for HGSS egg IVs

Ok, got myself locked onto a shiny egg w/ correct nature.

When abusing for a flawless egg IV spread, I seem to consistently start at frame 1 regardless of what delay I hit. My target frame is 14, so when I hit my seed, I called Elm 13 times (right before frame 14). When leaving the pokegear, I IMMEDIATELY talked to the old guy, there was no considerable overworld pause (if anything, maybe a nanosecond, but I pressed L/A in tandem after pressing B from leaving the start menu). After hatching my egg, I noticed it was 2 frames off from my target frame, 14.

My question is, can 3 frame really advance THAT FAST? Like in nanoseconds? Or do 3 frames always advance for eggs, regardless where you're at based on Elm calls? I thought Elm calls told you exactly which frame you're at?

If the answer is no to the above questions, can NPCs move while you're talking to someone? I tested talking to people in the presence of wandering NPCs and noticed no one moved while the text box was out.

Those are the natures that aren't very useful competitively (neutral, or plus one defensive stat, minus the other).

When calling Youngster Joey to advance my IRNG frame, I accidentally called Youngster Ian once (he said something like "Didn't we make plans to battle?"). This won't advance my IRNG frame at all, will it?

EDIT: Apparently the answer to my question is that it does advance the IRNG. I was after a PID on frame 23, so I called Youngster Joey 11 times to advance the frame to 22, and then took the egg which I thought would be on frame 23. It turns out that my PID was on frame 25, so it looks like my extra phone call to Youngster Ian advanced the frame by 2 as well, even though he said he wanted to battle.
 
the encounter calculations work for emerald right cause the same thing happens to me and im trying to rng a specific pokemon whose seen rarity is 5% and i just cant get it could i use this info to help me have a better chance of encountering the pokemon ps it only comes out in a certain floor and its the only place where it available

I don't think there is encounter slots in emerald, at least it hasn't been cracked. You'll have to get lucky.
 
ohh yeah i just noticed that when i tried it out been trying for three days now counting today i also wanted to ask if its possible to rng for id sid in emerald
 
Okay I've got my spread for my gastly, it's in frame 9, I'm really lucky I got such a low number. Now, assuming I hit my delay and get to the right seed I start on frame one, correct? But the first thing that comes up in platinum is the journal, which will advance the frame by two if there is a battled pokemon on the first page right? Beaning I'm on frame three? From then I can flip between the previous and current page three more times and then sweet scent the second I get in the game? Or do I have to get to frame 7, flip a coin the second I get into the game and then sweet scent as fast as possible and hope for the best?
 
anyone have any tips ive seen every other pokemon in the area in shiny form and caught them all but this pokemon eludes me im using a synchronize'r and using sweet scent its rarity is 5% =(

im using emerald btw
