Yeah this has skyrocketed the chances of Mijiraisduiisiaesa evoling into part fighting. It's a given in this day and age that gamefreak are going to give the starter's final evos a dual typing so this just makes sense.

I agree, but you never know, GF loves to troll us, loves. But it would be better if they are, it would make them all better ^-^ Oh and btw, your signature.. xD
Kinda off topic, but I want little Tsu's final evo to go something like this on base stats:
70/110/80/70/70/120
THAT I WOULD LOVE HELL YEAH!

That's right, because GF have ever had the common sense to make a starter that was competitively viable. Although, I suppose the 3rd (and best) gen starters were all good, but not that good.

I don't care about competitive, I just want it to have good stats, like those. After all, it is 520 BST, so why not? Plus, just look at an Infernape, SD + Aqua Jet Fera, and Speced Sceptile rape any team.

I can't believe nape and the penguin didn't occur to me.
I guess a hangover from ADV, and the fact that I don't really like the 4th gen starters. I don't know why, I think they were just a let down after all the hype about the new gen. However, I see your point.

I actually liked them, but I wasn't really looking forward to Gen 4 for some reason...

And charmander used dragon rage.
We all know how Charizard ended up (although it would've been sick as fire/dragon).
I'm sure glad Unknown Tsutaja and I got to go over that one again, although a good water fighting would be BAMF.
Also, that's true about the second use of revenge... No assuming though.

Read that as dragon rape...sorry.

Just a small thing I noticed.
Gen 3 came out, together with a remake of Gen 1
Gen 4 came out, together with a remake of Gen 2
Gen 5 comes out... Fill in yourself (it's easy as 1,2,3...)
Your opinions?

I doubt they'll remake Hoenn in Gen 5 to be honest. Everything unique about Hoenn, pokemon wise, is available in Gen 4 already, so it would just be heavy duplication. The amount of new content would be extraordinarily limited.

I'd say they'll be making new games for the moment.

I'd say they'll be remaking them sometime during Gen V because the best reason for remakes is that they print money.

On Wotter's Typing: Water-Fighting would be intesting, but I'm not holding my breath. I mean, it's been said before, but I don't think anyone save a few random guesses thought Piplup's final stage would be Steel-Type.

Infernape, Empoleon and Swampert are perfectly viable in OU. Torterra, Venusaur, Feraligatr, Sceptile and Blastoise are solid, reliable UU wrecking machines. Blaziken, Typhlosion and Charizard all have niches that make them stand out, even though Charizard got gutted by stealth rock. That leaves Meganium, which is decent too.

Oh well, back to lurking.

If I may add a few words in...

I really think most of the starters are at their level of being either simply decent to use, or outright outclassed, simply as a Fridge Brilliance deal. The games/NPCs do say at certain points to catch more 'mons, right? I somewhat had the idea in my head that the games are pushing you to catch more and more 'mons and level those up as well as your starter, rather than try to bullrush the whole game with only your starter.

... That's just how I feel on the matter, anyway. It's sort of like Fire Emblem and its Jeigan characters. ;^^

Also, I really do want to talk about the new 'mons some more, like how cute Shikijika is, and how... "Odd" Minehoggu is, but I feel I'll just sound late to the party, so instead, I'll just end this post with how much I hope Iris is a Jungle Princess character, and not at the level of girliness as Dawn.

Just a fair bit of nitpicking. In Meganium and Blastoise's cases, they are probably the worst Bulky Grass/Water in the game, though the latter does have Rapid Spin to call its own. The former, however... Well, I cannot think of anything that sets it apart off the top of my head, sadly. ;^^ It just seems fairly worse than Leafeon, Tangrowth, and even Exeggutor.

You're right on Meganium. I've seen it a handful of times, but it's pretty much neverused. Think I've seen more Meganiums than Eggs, though. :/

I see a Blastoise on lots of teams due to Rapid Spin, actually. While he's far from the best water pokemon, he's one of the better spinners in UU due to his bulk. Hitmontop is still better, of course, but at least he's not as bad as Delibird (I actually saw a Delibird spinner once).

I want a hoenn remake so badly! RSE were my first pokemon games (my parents didn't want me to have video games -.-') so I have to love them. It makes sense that they would continue the remakes.

Typhlosion almost single handedly got me to the Pokemon World Championship last year.

What would make my year? A Hoenn remake as well. But please bring back the Desert, and the Seven Islands from F&L, and the secret hideouts, both yours and the teams, AND their frontier

To be wise, I don't think gamefreak will make a 3rd copy to follow up on b/w, if they ever will do, there won't be any chance remakes of r/s for the ds. Think about it the 3DS is coming out in the market anytime soon, It'll take them at least two years to make 6th gen, do they really want to waste time working on a 3rd version and remakes on r/s for a system over 6 years old?
So basically me thinks, 5th gen will only contain b/w and then they'll start working on 6th gen for the 3DS, even that will take a while

starters were never made to be top tier pokemons in gamefreak mind(idk if in japan infernape and swampert are used a lot compared to here), instead they were made to be good pokemons that would help you beat the game. nothing special. this is slowly changing with time because satoshi, gamefreak and even they mothers know infernape>charizard any day so i expect the gen 5 starters to be about 20% better then the gen 4 ones.

if only this had started sonner....i mean just look at typhosion...a bad copy of charizard who happens to get eruption, EXACTLY same stats, both are fire starters....come on gamefreak, what you guys were thinking back in the old days?

they try to make old starters better by giving them unique moves or some random shit but in the end typhosion/charizard got problems with bulky waters(unless of course they give some retarded shit like leafstorm to both), meganium is just a bulky grass wannabe(really? 100 defenses across the board? decide yourself for god sake) and even though blastoise is a awesome rapid spinner i would still pick hitmontop over him for rapid spinning.

edit:why not a 3th gen remake for the 3DS only? actually im neutral for a gen 3 remake, why? cause after beating your father the game got sick boring, unless they fix that somehow i would probably not bother a lot with the remake.

Then why would they make a HG/SS when the 5th gen comes out a year after? It was more than 6 years old, and yet they still remade it, with only a litle things knew
