More like it was Technician + Bullet Punch that resulted in Scizor's rise. There has not been a metagame where Scizor lacks Technician but has STAB priority. Losing Technician would certainly hurt but the priority STAB is still pretty damn useful in its own right. The rumor is probably bogus but not knowing if Scizor has Technician or Flash Fire would lead to some pretty good mindgames.

Well I called it an owl because on Serebii its description was "Plant Owl", but it just looks so gosh darn bad that I thought there was a possibility of it being fake or something

Yeah a flash fire Scizor has potential, but its role is entirely different from Technician Scizor. Technician Scizor is OU. Another type of Scizor might not fare so well.

Which is why Scizor needs to be sent to Uber right now then, I hate getting my match ruined by a SD Bullet Punch Scizor. And I never said that set makes Scizor uber, but don't forget about the huge Bug weakness in Ubers.

Look at it as the "v" shape is its mouth and the yellow is its stomach. It'll look much better save for the crappy looking stalk.

@Little Green Yoda: There's no rumor going around, someone just jokingly mentioned Scizor getting Flash Fire and we're getting in a huff over it.
 
heh. we something get something like flash fire/water absorb/leaf guard starters....and maybe some random crap like SPEED BOOST LUCARIO. jk, but the dream world does look interesting.

Yeah. For some reason people like me and you immediately assume the "v" shape is its nose and the yellow is its mouth which would look really, really retarded. When in reality, I was told the "v" shape is probably its mouth and the yellow is its belly, which looks so much better, maybe even a little cute.
 
I hope they fix some flawed pokes with a lot of potential by giving them some new toys. For example, giving Exeggutor an ability that increases its SpD or giving some bad pokes exclusive items.

I took me a while to realize that poliwag didnt have a nose and the pink thing was actually its mouth. way cuter that way. I don't see what your saying about the plant owl though

Scizor is overpowered imo with Technician, but the flash fire thing isn't a rumor, someone just brought that up, lol. And the plant thing looks like one of those round cactus to me O.o
 
annoying? yes, overpowered? no, he got common and more then decent counters but anyway. this is no place to talk about the metagame.


flash fire scizor is stupid and wont happen and even if it does it still wont be overpowered, his defenses dont make him immune to being ohkoed different from shit like specially defensive skarm.


talk about skarm it might get some new interesting ability....
 
So Sturdy is auto-sash now? 0.0
Despite being a massive improvement over the old effect, I guess it's not a huge deal considering how bulky the Pokemon who get Sturdy are.
 
Now that TMs don't disappear, does that mean we no longer have to worry about HMs? They will essentially serve the same purpose at this point.

We've already seen what Flash get downgraded to a TM, and it worked well. It just makes more sense to just classify them all as TMs.
 
Sturdy's new effect isn't earth-shattering in Smogon's 6v6 single battle metagame (mostly due to Stealth Rock), but it should be phenomenal in other environments, like double battles. Golem, Forretress, and Steelix should all be much easier to use.

He's saying to think of the yellow "mouth" as the under-belly, instead of a mouth. And to think of the little "nose" as its mouth instead because it looks a whole lot better that way

TMs are now reusable. In my eyes I feel this means there will no longer be HMs, but you never know.

In this gen Tm's don't disappear after one use.

Which is really great. Maybe now they don't have HM's? And maybe they finally got rid of the move deleter which was a hassle just to delete some HMs.

I got that. But I don't see how the triangle is a mouth. I just cant see it.
