Uber status is determined by power in OU, not Ubers.
I never said it was determined in Ubers. Plus, I give a flip about tiers, which is why I get annoyed everytime I try out a new baby pass and it gets ruined by a SD Bullet Punch Scizor.
Then make your own server. If you play on the Smogon server don't get pissed when people play to win. People are going to use the best tools available, and Scizor is one of them. He shouldn't be barred to Ubers just because your gimmick NU Pokemon team can't compete with him.

So the musicals are going to replace contests and pokéathlon ? Why do we need musicals ?
Why did we need Pokemon Contests/Super Contests/Pokethlon? It's just a little mindless minigame.
@Saital: Actually, no one has mentioned that, and that's a good find. I always thought the markings were arranged in a way that made them look like some sort of shirt (I thought it looked like a jersey when we first saw it), but your idea is probably exactly what it was based on. I like Pokemon with a little reasoning for its design, and that makes me like Miruhog even more.
EDIT: Oh my god. It looks like exactly like those, right down to the two stripes on the lower half. That's so coooool.

Totally agreed. If it was important, then there would have ShoddyContest and ShoddyAthlon.
I honestly wish they would continue working on contests. I didn't like how they were heading in DPt, but the new appeals were better than RSE's IMO. If they had combined RSE-style contests and combos with DPt's appeals and whatever other improvements to the core of the system, like having abilities have effects in contests, and I would have been satsified. I didn't like all the extra fluff like the dance routines and dress-up. I don't care for the concept behind Musicals and the Pokethlon because I don't like how they're based on specific events or ideas, whereas contests were just a different way to show off a Pokemon's skills.
I just realized something. Stonefish looks like the geodude of this generation so I expect we'd be seeing it often. That and Sturdy means it takes twice as long to kill it. :( Better start packing repels.
Pokethalon was pretty damn fun though. I wouldn't mind seeing it return.
Having a distraction from the main quest is fun at times.
It's kind of funny how sturdy was one of the worst abilities in the game, and now might become one of the best in the game.

Also, in regards to alternate abilities, I really hope the starters get something else. I mean sure, Aqua Jet Feraligatr likes having the torrent boost but it's not that big of a deal, I'd much rather him get Arena Trap like trapinch, JAWS OF DEATH, but that won't happen.
Magic Guard Charizard not only rhymes, but it'd also be a godsend to the poor fellow. Buuut that won't happen either :C
Maybe there'll be an ability this gen that negates SR damage, even if it's not widespread it'd be nice u___u

I quite like it and pray it is not entirely useless though the chance is slim.
I think (hope) the breeding mechanics have changed and it will be possible to pass on the Dream World abilities once you have a specimen.
What I'd like is a 100% guarantee of passing the ability ordinal of the Pokemon that determines the species.
For example, a Camerupt with Solid Rock would always give Simple Numel who would always evolve into Solid Rock Camerupt.
I hate special cases and exceptions in Pokemon so I'd prefer that Hydration Vaporeon is an 'ordinary' Pokemon the way ESpeed Dratini is.
Reusable TMs are solid evidence GF is making it easier to customise your Pokemon (which helps out competitive battlers).
Chances are good that they've made some improvements to the breeding and egg hatching mechanics as well.

I can't waaait for new abilities to get remakes. I want more pokes to get poison heal, simple, technician, suction cups... pretty much all I can think of. But yeah, need more awesome moves, can't wait what old faves end up getting huge buffs. Sandslash, Marowak, Arcanine, Muk, Kabutops(even though he already pwns everything), Kingler.
Combos made the difference in RSE, like my favorite one:

Yellow Scarf

Anyway, the DPPt destroyed the charm of the contest, and I hope that the combos will return in the pokéoperas because if not it will be the same shit that the pokéathlon was.
P.S. : Contests are just for people use Wormadam, Pachirisu and Farfy.

I quite like that reference. And those safety vests often appear to "Illuminate" as well.
EDIT: I was just thinking that if Illuminate raises accuracy it could get some use out of Hypnosis.
