I wish a lot of pokemon had species-exclusive moves. XD

Edit: I'd go with Ice/Fighting for a polar bear, just for the uniqueness. Um resisting Ice/Ground? The only thing I can think of is Skarmory, although it doesn't really resist Ice.

Edit 2: Bronzong.
I don't know, I don't think fighting when I look at a Polar Bear. I think a Japanese Macaque would fit Ice/Fighting. He'd be special based since they're so smart.

Having your two main STABs only resisted by Bronzong isn't that bad (referring to an Ice/Ground type).

its not a feebass/magikrap fish, it has moves

Maybe they realize it was too difficult in-game to raise Feebas, so they are giving this new Pokemon actual moves to fight with. Magikarp isn't too bad, but it is near worthless. Fortunately, Gyarados is amazing, but Milotic isn't even worth it in-game.

How can you not think of Kung-Fu Panda when thinking about a part Fighting bear...

@bombiron: remember how feebas can learn tms? and think about it, a magikarp apears to only come around in an odd generation so far, and each one gets better, even if it means the "speculative dark gyarados" lacks a little... though hopefully not

I would still prefer Ice/Fighting over Ice/Ground, I mean you'll be hitting every pokemon for neutral with your main STABs, and then your support moves can finish the job. And I hope that this gen's fish turns out way better than Gyara, no need for DD cuz it's strong enough already

with surskit defenses that thing is gonna get 2hkoed by everything, regardless if she resist or not. but yeah gamefreak messed up masquerain type.

I'm going for Ghost/Rock for Desukan.

As far as Basurao, I actually like it. I hope it does evolve into some badass serpent, but I could also take some type if dinofish. I saw Magikarp as a blessing, useless at first but all the work paid off later on with evolution. I hope Basurao is somewhat like that. It probably does learn TMs but for all we know, Aqua Jet and Uproar and whatever else it has could be the only moves it has until evolution.

The same can be said about Ice/Ground, though. The only reason Bronzong resists both STABs is because of Levitate. On the other hand, Frosslass, Tentacruel and Qwilfish stop Ice/Fighting cold (pardon the bad joke).
Lets look at it:

Ice/Fighting Offense:
2x- Grass, Ground, Flying, Dragon, Rock, Steel, Ice, Dark, Normal
1x- Bug, Poison, Fire, Psychic, Fighting, Ghost, Water, Electric,

Ice/Ground Offense:
2x- Grass, Ground, Flying, Dragon, Rock, Steel, Fire, Electric, Poison
1x- Bug, Psychic, Fighting, Ghost, Water, Ice, Normal, Dark

---------------------

Ice/Fighting Defense:
4x- none
2x- Fire, Psychic, Flying, Fighting, Steel
1x- Dragon, Grass, Water, Rock, Normal, Poison, Ghost, Ground, Electric
.5x- Bug, Ice, Dark,
0x- none

Ice/Ground Defense
4x- none
2x- Fire, Water, Grass, Fighting
1x- Normal, Ice, Ground, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, Steel
.5x- Poison,
0x- Electric

Long story short: Both are great offensively and, on paper, Ice/Fighting is better defensively. However, while Fire/Water/Grass/Fighting weaknesses are sucky, a Fire type isn't switching in because of EQ and a Grass type isn't because of Ice Beam. It's the same reason you don't switch Scizor into Shaymin, since even though Scizor resists grass attacks, Shaymin pack HP Fire.
