It would be okay with me too. But... now that I think about it, Gigaias isn't shown to be in the demo. This is so weird. Why would they show Pokemon in a pamphlet given out at the demo that aren't in the demo?

@R_N: Whoa, whoa, I actually never heard that. There's a legendary Pokemon in the forest in that demo?
Remember the Pokemon Sunday demo preview? Well the assitant said that Aragai was looking for a legendary that, uh, got away I think? Anyway, when you beat Cheren you go into the forest, talk with Aragai and then something presumably appears.
Something that Pokemon Sunday made a specific point of not showing.

Also the demo event thing is titled "Search for the legend"

And remember, we also haven't seen Hatoopoo or Minezumi and there's so many variations on this demo (at LEAST three different areas, that can be any season) that its possible Gigaiasu is somewhere in there, we just haven't seen it.

I'm surprised, I don't remember any bit of that. But oh well. Even if Emonga doesn't show up in the demo, it's a safe assumption neither does Gigaias and Gigaias, unlike Mamambou who is undeniably a Luvdisc evo, has no excuse to only show up post-E4 unless it's more important for some reason than Corocoro let on.

Hatohpoh and Minezumi are probably still in the demo, just no one feels any need to take pictures of them since we've already seen them. Or maybe not.

Someone translated on youtube, I think I got it in my favorites somewhere just a sec

Oh, I believe you, not trying to say you're lying, I'm just surprised I never heard that.

@cobaltbones: I honestly don't see why they would translate Tsutarja's classification as anything but the "Ivy Snake" or, less specifically, "Grass Snake", but I suppose you can never know with things like that.

Did anyone mentioned the fact that the green rock, plant monster, and Emoga sprites were fake? Ignoring the first two does my means Emoga is post-national dex?

That's actually a good point. We now don't have any reason to believe Emonga is pre-Elite Four now. He could, for all we know, be post, and thus the possibility of him being a Pachirisu evolution is marginally better.

Marginally being the key word.

That video was absolutely hilarious, with teh annotations... and an evil cliffhanger >:(

I'm really quite curious now

I just realized that the information on Tsutarja posted by Pokebeach was that it places of emphasis on special STATS, which I initially took to mean just Special Attack, but both Special Attack AND Special Defense were probably what it meant. I'm not sure if I like that. I was sort of hoping Tsutarja would be fast. I suppose logically as a snake with flimsy little limbs it wouldn't be fast but whatever.

I bring it back up to say, I wish people would stop talking about GF not 'caring' about 'competitive' Pokemon blah blah
Every time it comes up I get a nagging feeling so it's my first and last word on it.

Obviously GF does not consult Smogon and what would Smogon say if they did?
Smogon is a bunch of people with different opinions who unbanned then banned Latias and banned Salamence now, a month short of Gen V's release.
Smogon also creates CAP Pokemon that perform differently in battle from what they expected despite such Pokemon being designed for specific 'competitive' purposes.
What of it?

Everything known about the game of Pokemon indicates to me that care was taken to design the battle system.
Strategies such as Baton Passing or Rain Dance exist only because the supporting moves/abilities were introduced with the obvious intention of supporting those play styles.
Furthermore, there are numerous moves/items of little use during the game's story but which have value in the context of battles to win.
So how is this done by a developer that does not care about the possibilities inherent in its own battle system?

Some of their stat spreads are clearly limited ON PURPOSE.
Those whose minds boggle at Rampardos' crappiness would use it as a touchstone to GF's cluelessness if it had Garchomp's speed and TTar's bulk plus base 165 attack.
Indeed, Garchomp generates complaints despite being nowhere as bad as that.

Cleary, it would be impossible for Gamefreak to accurately predict how Smogon is going to tier its Pokemon and create them accordingly.
Heck, Smogon has no deterministic algorithm that takes a set of Pokemons' stats/movepool/ability/typing and generates tier lists.
So all the talk about GF "not caring" is largely irrelevant. They shouldn't care. We play Pokemon not make it. The tail can't wag the dog.
However, they do care about the game and the battle mechanics and that's all we need to care about because it's their business, literally.

Now hold on a second there, this might not be such a bad thing. Maybe Tsutaja will get a great defensive secondary typing to go with good defence. It could turn into a great bulky special attacker. Slap on the Steel type and you get a unique type combination and the following

-One x4 weakness (Fire)
-One x2 weakness (Fighting)
-Four neutral (Flying, Ground, Bug, Ice)
-Nine x2 resistances (Dark, Dragon, Electric, Ghost, Normal, Psychic, Rock, Steel, Water)
-One x4 resistance (Grass)
-One immunity (Poison)

Combine that with good Special stats, not horrible defence and HP, and you've got yourself a nice bulky attacker there. I'm probably just over speculating, but it means that there's always hope. I'd prefer it to just have a high speed, though.

I'm completely agreeing with you here. Only having 2 weaknesses and a great defensive typing plus possible high defense and Sp. Atk would make an awesome bulky sweeper (sorry Hariyama, you're being replaced). For an attacking type though, Grass/Electric takes the medal, not having many weaknesses and hitting most if not all things for at least neutral coverage. I just want at least 105+ Speed in its BST

I'd much rather have a grass/steel. Grass is my favourite type, we need some steel love. Either that or ghost or dragon. OR ALL THREE!! GREED IS GOOD

I'm thinking Gigaiasu is a legendary. I mean, he definitely looks like it, and Dr. Araragi WAS in a cave...
Yeah no.

1st of all Legendaries are always specially noted as so. ALWAYS. They get pages to themselves in CoroCoro, the official site makes note of it, merchandise fliers in depth information about it.

2nd of all Araragi was in a forest.

edit: Also legends tend to have a unique ability and/or a unique move and those are shown off.

Just realizing Bassrao really strikes me as a pirate. It looks like it's wearing an eyepatch or something. That's so goofy if that's the case, hahaha.

There's really nothing making me believe Gigaias might be a legendary Pokemon. It seems absurd to think so, IMO.

Only thing is, does he have the size for it? Victini is already in the cute legendary thing, and I don't think that any other legendary (not cute) is that size...

Yeah it's a little small besides the pixies and phantoms. edit: Actually outside deity-type legendaries, legendaries aren't very big at all. But still it doesn't give off a legendary vibe to me.

Besides, it was revealed like an ordinary Pokemon.

I'm hoping for some kind of new move mechanic or something. It seems like the best moves out there right now are priority... anyone got any ideas on waht could be better than priority?
