Yeah it's too small outside of the pixies and phantoms, and to me it doesn't look like a legendary.

Besides, it was revealed like an ordinary Pokemon. Case closed.

In all fairness, I don't think size is the way to judge a legendary Pokemon. Even Reshiram and Zekrom are notably smaller in comparison to other version mascots, IIRC. Anyway, yeah, Corocoro did not put an emphasis on it to make us believe Gigaias might be special, so it probably isn't.

Yeah it's a little small outside of the pixies and phantoms. Actually it's not that small compared to legendary trios, but still it doesn't give off a legendary vibe to me.

Lol, it's no case, we're just talking. And I meant Gigaisu or whatever, not Victini, lol. But I agree with ya

lol wish you guys didn't quote me as I had edited my previous post.

So yeah, outside deity-type legendaries and other few expections, legendaries aren't very big. Gigaisu is the same height as Heatran, and slightly taller than Cresselia and Darkrai for example.

It wont. Stop trying to pigeonhole the new Pokemon, it just doesn't work that way. GF is barely consistent in the different "roles" of each Pokemon (aside from starters + early bird + early rodent + early bug [**which wasn't done in Gen4**]).

Basurao is just a fish you catch with a rod. Ta~da.
Wow, it's so cool how you know these things before the game comes out. Tell us more! Note that every game has had a Magikarp-like Pokemon (usually Magikarp himself) and Black and White won't, without a new design. GF knows that a weak fish evolving into something powerful is a good idea, so it's not ridiculous to think Basurau could fit that. But since you've seen the stats for this Pokemon and it's evo and all. . . and you've had a nice long chat with some of the game designers. . . I guess we should just listen to you.

What did 2 and 4 have? That's two right there without a new "Magikarp-like Pokemon".

What was the GS Magikarp, exactly?

He said "usually Magikarp himself". He is saying that there has been a Pokémon that filled that role in each game, not necessarily a new one. There are no old Pokémon in Black and White so he is assuming that there will be a new Pokémon to fill that role.

Ok guys, enough arguying. Basurao might be whichever of the things you guys say, nobody knows yet, no need to argue about something, give your opinion, and if someone doesn't agree, just say: Good idea.

so Smugleaf is a snake? O_o i always thought some sort of lizard. With me Legs /=/ snake just wont register with me.

Errr, yeah, LOL. It's the "Ivy Snake" Pokemon. I also can see Gamefreak personifying ivy vines as snakes, which further cements the idea. It's got limbs but they are rather tiny and don't grow with it as it evolves. I think the only reason they gave it limbs was because a limbless starter probably wouldn't have been as mascot-worthy as starters usually are.

It grew limbs out of sheer smug-power

How else is it supposed to tap its....well I wouldn't really call it a foot... and cross its arms while being smug as hell

He's like Sonic if Sonic was a snake

If hit by an attack, which presumably would not include entry hazards, sandstorm, Toxic, etc.

If I'm not mistaken, the info on illusion came from the demo, so there would be no entry hazards or sandstorm to test it on.

I'm hoping entry hazards and weather do not break the illusion, because that would make it rather lackluster outside of leads.

hmm smugleaf now makes sense to me lol *Im waiting!....*

... except he probably won't be that fast, ironically, LOL... but I suppose we don't know for sure yet.

Lol, even more epic than Sonic- It's like Captain Falcon with his: Show your moves! Or: Is that all you got?

They didn't get a new one. What I'm saying is they HAD MAGIKARP, but Black and White WONT. So maybe they'll make a Pokemon with a SIMILAR CONCEPT to Magikarp, because it's a part of what made RBY fun to play.

Good God I've posted this thought like three times and people still misunderstand. I'm not saying "ITZ A MAGIKLONE!" I'm saying that Magikarp had an important role, and I think GF will come up with something to fill that role since IT WONT BE IN BLACK AND WHITE (pre-NatDex. Not because they're running out of ideas or it's a "tradition".

On the topic of priority, I'd like to see a new ability that completely negates all priority moves. Put it on a fast, sweeperish pokemon. Could make for a good lead.

Talking about abilities an such, I wonder why Torment even exists, I mean what good does it do? I can just see it stopping a poke from repeteadly calm minding, but that's it, I hope it gets some kind of boost in Gen V

Torment Heatran gets used in OU occasionally, and it's usable on Skarmory as well. It works on things that have few weaknesses and are tough to KO.
