For the record, determining whether or not a Pokemon is based on the same "species" is really really debatable, especially since most Pokemon aren't that specific about their origins. The two I can think of off the top of my head that ARE based on specific species are Caterpie, who is based specifically on swallowtail butterfly larvae, and Beautifly, who is based specifically on a swallowtail butterfly (I wonder why no one has made a theory out of that? Oh well). But the rest of their individual lines are very vague about their exact "species". And that's only ONE example, there are plenty others, where Pokemon totally change species between evolutions.

I assumed you were using "species" in the context of "fish" or "dog" or "cat" or "bird" and the like. But since you aren't Mamambou and Luvdisc really aren't the same species, they just have a similarity that Gamefreak caught on to. Luvdisc is a discus fish and Mamabou is a mambo/sunfish.

Hell, I might not even be using "species" right. "Genus" is probably more what we're looking for.

Geez people, Remoraid looks EXACTLY like a revolver. It would have been a perfect personification if it had a longer, thinner head, and that would have looked really dumb. All of its fins are in the right spot to match parts of the revolver, and there's the darker lines on its body that are supposed to look like a revolver's chamber. Ignoring all of this, it literally shot its attacks the Stadium games. As in it aimed and jerked back like a gun's recoil. I just don't see how someone can think Octillery looks more like a cannon/tank than Remoraid looks like a handgun... but I digress.

Mamambou and Luvdisc also have different primary colors, so your characteristics aren't 100% applied to that case either.

Are you saying that Mamanbou's mostly the lighter shade of pink, while luvdisc is mostly the darker shade? They consist of those two shades of pink. I give them the point.

If they didn't want Mamanbo to be a Luvdisc evolution, why would they make it heart shaped AND pink? they could have easily changed it up a bit to avoid similarities. It's just too much of a coincidence that it would evolve. The entire fandom is under the impression that Mamanbo is Luvdisc's evolution, it's never been that one sided. Unlike say, Ariados and Dentula where there are only a few believers (eventhoughtheyrewrong). Everyone seems to be pretty convinced on this one.

Speaking of Solar Power, I think there should be an ability called Lunar Power, that that's same just with rain, and for Pokemon like Umbreon[not saying it's good for it, just one of the Pokemon that should get it) (and Lunatone, if Lunatone gets Lunar Power, Solrock should get Solar Power too, it just 'makes sense')

They should make a inverse of Sunny Day that draws out the moon and makes it night time or something. boost dark-type attacks or something.

Better than giving it a preevo. Though Chingling is really cute. Chimecho would have liked a Roselia type deal, and receiving an evolution too.

How can Geodude -> Onix? Geodude is a boulder with arms. Onix is a snake made of boulders, with a horn and a more animal like face. Like... srsly, that doesn't make sense. <_< Plus, that would make YET ANOTHER evolution that is basically taking the preevo and grouping it together.

If you note some of mythology, there are links between the moon and the sea, and also for a scientific fact that if the moon were removed, it would cause apocalyptic tidal waves, thus giving the moon a relationship with the sea itself.

I really HOPE that GameFreak isn't mindless enough to make two unrelated pink heartshaped fishes that nobody likes flavor-wise anyways. I mean, why would anyone (who plays Pokemon) like a dumb looking fish that was shaped like a heart anyways (actually, I'm talking about Luvdisc and not the new Pokemon here, because Luvdisc has NO DETAILS whatsoever, while the new Pokemon has some details to make it less simple and less stupid)? I will be severely disappointed if they aren't related in some way. Although I also think it was kind of weird and dumb to make both Bronzong and Metagross blue Steel/Psychic type Pokemon (I like blue, and I like Steel, but I would have liked some more differences better; I mean, they both even have red eyes (although Bronzor doesn't, to be fair)).

EDIT: I don't mean that Bronzong and Metagross aren't different (when I got a closer comparison, I realized they were very different). But the fact that neither Steel nor Psychic is represented by blue, but two of the three final evos that are those types are makes me want them to be farther apart in color. Anyways, Metagross would look badass in a darker blue, and Bronzong's Pokedex says it's green, so enhancing the green would be good. Although, this shouldn't be done now (this should have been done before they were released). I think I will put some sprites up here of the dark-blue Metagross and the green-blue Bronzong, lol.

There should be more climates other than Sun/Rain/Sand/Hail. An auto-inducing Fog would be cool. Also, something like Acid Rain that damages all types except Poison and removes Steel's poison imunity.

And there's a relationship between moon and sea.

Win! I honestly dont understand the logic of Pachi cant evolve to Emonga because 5th gen has no old pokemons in it. Yet they say Mamanbou is Luvdics evo.

I'd admit it would be very annoying to fight in Defog but a team who revolves around Fog will be something different. Never-miss moves will see more use.

I think that having a weather condition that reduces accuracy (Both Fog and a sort of Night condition would fit this) By a certain amount would be interesting. It would reduce the effectiveness of users who carry any non-100% attacking moves (Most notably Tyranitar with Stone Edge). I think we have enough weather conditions, though, so I'm not really hoping too much for one.
