Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Ok guys, I need help kinda fast.

I recently learned how to RNG abuse on Soul Silver, and I got all my Elm calls right. I have done nothing else at all. I am going to use sweet scent to get a ditto.

My target frame or whatever it's called is "251". I read somewhere that calling Elm increases the frame by 1.

So... what do I do now? Does sweet scent increase the frame? What did the frame start at? Is frame even the right word?

Very many thanks in advance. ^_^

From the 2nd post on page 1 of this thread:

As a side note, it is possible to figure out your SID in HGSS very easily. This can be done by catching multiple Gyarados and recording their IVs and nature, resetting after each time. Putting these spreads into RNG Reporter's Chain to SID feature will reveal your game's SID.

If you click the link there in your quote ...

Yes, I already picked up on it, because I said it didn't mention bred pokes either. I also thanked Signum for pointing the fact out. So, since you seem to be here at the moment, is it a difference in PID creation (caught vs bred) that makes using random bred shinies useless for SID calculation?

SS will advance your frame by 2
251-2 = 249

you will have to make 249 elm call or 9 elm call and advance the rng by 240

and then sweet scent.

EDIT:
@Freze:
Correct

SS will advance your frame by 2
251-2 = 249

Can you elaborate on the part where you said SS advances your frame by 2? I thought calling Elm in SS only advances the frame by 1?

Edit: Also, the Starting Frame should be 0 or why else would we have an option to choose a Target Frame of 1?

Well I just remembered that I have a random non-chained Shiny Machoke on my Pearl version so I guess I could do my Shiny hatchings on Pearl instead but that would mean I would need to learn to do RNG on DPPt as well D:

By the way, do any NPCs on Route 34 (Daycare Route) move affecting my IV portion of RNGing Eggs?

@Freze: You can call Elm, and there are 3 responses he can possibly give you. It takes a little longer than coin flip, but it also advances the frame. You can also use the position of the roamers as well.

Can you call Elm if you never hatched Togepi in HG and traded the Egg away hatched it in a different game and used it as trade fodder?

By the way advancing RNG = Finding the delay you got?

You do need an egg that was given by the assistant. From what I heard, it can even be one hatched in someone elses game. And about the advancing frames, Elm calls advance the RNGs frame (like page flips) and help determine your seed (like coin flips). Pretty much, elm calls are coin flips for the normal RNG.

But I don't know my seed even in Plat and I managed RNG. I have no idea what a seed is.

All I used coin flips for was determining my delay. I have no idea what my seed is yet I manage to RNG.

The seed is pretty much the date/time/delay you entered the game. Each one has the flip/call order different, so we can use it to determine what we hit (obviously some share the same sequence to a point).

Since I caught only one red gyarados, when I put its IVs ecc... into "chain to SID", the RNG reporter gives me 328 results.

Is there a way to see all these results? I want to try to catch a shiny pokemon using each one of them to find out witch my SID is

I don't think it will work for you... the point of capturing multiple shiny gyarados is to soft reset after you get your results and to rinse and repeat.

I have the same issue since I already caught my Shiny Gyarados.

Anyone have any ideas on why it skips 2 frames on me sometimes. Some days it will start on frame 1, but my most recent RNG it skipped the first two. It's not exactly that big of a deal, but it's just a little nuisance. Yes, all my roamers are gone and I consistently try to get the Pokegear as fast as possible

NPCs on routes can affect your frame. Is your frame being affected after you exit out of Pokegear or before? I don't think it matters too much if its before if your targeted frame is high. Just try to compensate I guess.
