Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I'm going to bed, so I can't help you except to say read my catching guide for HGSS. It's for standing legendaries, but it should help you get started. If you're doing another kind of pokemon that isn't a legendary, you'll need to learn about more things than I have in the guide, like sweet scent, encounter slots, etc. The guide is meant for beginners.

yupp i sort of read it, but what i am wanting to catch is a wild ditto with good IVs..

Thanks anyway..

and Good night, sweet dream

Roamers usually advance the frame 1 each, but sometimes they can advance it by 2. So your starting frame is usually 0-4 depending on roamers. But with HG/SS, it doesn't matter so much what your starting frame is since calling elm can be used to verify your frame anyways.

Find a suitable spread using Wichu's PokeRNG or something. Then enter it into RNG Reporter and proceed from there.

Yupp, the problem is i don have a pokerus pokemon despite leveling from 50 to 79 from battling low level pokemons.

So basically now, i am just trying my luck here and there without verifying my seed, cuz i cant ;(

thanks anyway

Ok, how many frames would the following actions advance the RNG, assuming I am one square away, facing the entrance/ladder?

- Entering Ho-oh's rooftop via the ladder
- Entering Lugia's cavern via the cave door
- Surfing on the water in Lugia's cavern
- Walking up to Ho-oh on it's rooftop

Now then chaps...

I finally have my shiny egg (WOOH). But there's a new problem...

So I got an IV spread at frame 17. I called Elm 10 times to check the seed.

7 frames to go then, right?

I read that eggs start on frame 3. So I called Elm another 4 times.

Got the egg...

Wrong IVs.

Can somebody tell me why that happened?

If your frame is on 17, then you call Elm 16 times, and after that 16th call, then get your egg (hence getting it on frame 17). I've done that before too.

Ok, I know that I keep asking a ton of questions and never seem to get anywhere, but this is really bugging me.

I followed what Rocket Boss Giovanni said about calling Elm until I was one frame away, but still I am getting the wrong IVs. I've tried it twice, by the way, with different seeds; still wrong. I am 100% certain I am doing exactly as instructed by the guide, and from what others have said, but nothing is working.

Any ideas what's going wrong? Anyone?

You're over complicating this.
Open RNG Reporter. Put in your seed. Select "Breeding (HGSS)" under Method and click Generate. Your spread will show up on frame 17.
Hit your delay and verify the seed. Then you can just call Elm and line up the calls with the letter on each frame.

And I take the egg on the one corresponding to 17, right?

If it's like this, for example, you would call and get E, P, P, K. That is where you stop calling and take the egg.
13 E
14 P
15 P
16 K
17 E

Ok so I've never RNGd before. But I was messing around on my Pokewalker and I wanted to try out Wichu's Brave Nature1 29/30/30/0/1 thing. So I've done it a couple times and its not working perfectly.
The first time I used Bronzor and hit it on 59 and got one with a Brave Nature and Heatproof. But the IVs were partially messed up. I got the 29 for HP and the 1 for speed but the other IVs were different.
Then I tried to use 58 with a Magikarp. This time I got the IVs perfectly but I got an Adamant nature. I did it again with a Bronzor and the same thing happened. He even had levitate though I thought it was only supppose to be Heatproof.
What am I doing wrong?

Edit: Ok I finally got it. I think its because I was originally returning from stroll but this time I just recieved the gift. Would that do it?

Okay so my target delay is 619 and my last 2 resets had delays of 620 and 618, just my luck.

Cant i put a game into the gba slot to fix this? does it have to be a pokemon game? will sapphire work?

I landed on my Target Delay/Seconds again. I had a Target Frame of 7 so I called Youngster Joey 3 times in order to advance 6 frames to hit my Target Frame of 7, but the egg I got is NOT shiny. I checked RNG reporter (entered my Seed) to see what I actually hit and a frame of 7 would indeed give me a Modest Piplup, but it's supposed to be shiny. What went wrong?
Seed (Hex): 9708026A

Allright. I am starting a new game in platinum and I wanted to RNG my way to the best ID SID combination to get the highest number of good shiny spreads. So I read a bit and looked through seed finders and pandora's box and all those required programs for ID/SID RNG but I would like to do it another way:

-Find general PIDs of multiple nature/IV combos, regardless of ID, SID and time
-Then I would make / list of the compatible PIDs for each Nature/IV combo ( let's say I have 5 spreads, I do 5 lists of the needed PIDs)
-Then put those lists somewhere and find an ID/SID combo that could fit at least 1 PID of every list...

Detailed example :
(numbers might be wrong, but just for the sake of it)
1.a) for a certain combo I find those PIDs:
-1. [5AF36616] (which split in two binary numbers, LID and HID are 101101011100011 and 110011000010110)
and
-2. [B4E23C87] (which split in two binary numbers, LID and HID are 1011010011100010 and 11110010000111)
b) for another combo I find those PIDs:
-1. [EE93D276] (which split in two binary numbers, LID and HID are 1110111010010011 and 1101001001110110 )
and
-2. [DF227AA3] (which split in two binary numbers, LID and HID are 1101111100100010 and 111101010100011 )
2. Now I make 2 lists ( because I have 2 combos)
list 1 : [5AF36616] and [B4E23C87]
list 2 : [EE93D276] and [DF227AA3]
3. Now since I want those pokemon to be shiny, I need to get an ID and SID, that when added together with the LID and HID (in binary numbers) gets me all 0,2 and 4s...
Now, there are TONS of combos possible, but I want one which would work with at least 1 seed from the list 1 and at least 1 seed form the list 2. So, if I had an ID: 45067 (nice hex number too btw) and SID : 36078, if I were to encounter a pokemon with the PID [5AF36616] or [EE93D276], they would be shiny.
GOAL ATTAINED. Now what i really want is a bit more complicated I guess... =P

Calculations for the example :
first of all :
ID : 45067 = 1011000000001011
SID: 36078 = 1000110011101110

so if the PID was [5AE36616] :
1011000000001011 (ID)
1000110011101110 (SID)
0101101011110011 (LID)
0110011000010110 (HID)
2222222022222242 (results)
So, it's shiny indeed!

If the PID was [EE93D276] :
1011000000001011 (ID)
1000110011101110 (SID)
1110111010010011 (LID)
1101001001110110 (HID)
4222222022222242 (results)
Shiny too!
Hence, I would have 2 shiny PIDs which would fulfill the 2 nature/IVs combo I need...

So I wonder if there was a way of doing this otherwise then by hand (Because that could be really time consuming...)
I hope that was clear enough ^^

EDIT : on what should I run Wichu's RNG program? (or do I need to download something in order to be able to open it?) atm I was only able to save it as a file, when I guess it should be a program...

International parents? Maybe you didn't tick the box.
Or vice versa, you ticked it and you don't have international parents.

1. Syberia's hex flawless, Modest DITTO (nicknamed "Ditto") with the OT: Syb, but the name of the pokemon is obviously in English. I was told this was international.
2. tr4q's Piplup: he has an American version of the game, and so this Piplup is obviously American.
