Challenge The Scramble Challange

Newango, I see you need a sixth. Therefore I curse you with a Geodude. It must be caught in Oreburgh Mine, and it must be your highest level Pokemon at all times (even at the time you catch it). You may evolve it to Golem only if it knows and keeps both Selfdestruct and Explosion (evolution to Graveler is unrestricted).

@puffinrock, balance your team a bit with a Growlithe. It must successfully Roar away a gym leader's Pokemon and solo whatever gets dragged in 3 times, with 3 separate gym leaders. Until it fulfills that it may not use fire moves outside of gym battles. It can evolve when you have the Storm Badge.

there goes his "mono-water scramble" :P (which is what he wanted)

Puffinrock: If trading is allowed, you get a Bidoof (it evolves into a Water type). It must be called PieceOCrap, and has to have as many HM's as possible.

If you can't trade: Get yourself a Tentacruel (caught as either a Cool or Cruel, doesn't matter), and name it Grind-risu. You're not allowed to use any other pokemon in Victory Road, until it levels up 5 times in Victory Road.

@Puffinrock
Get a Remoraid. It may only evolve by learning Flamethrower. Once he evolves, he must have at least one physical attack and at least one special attack.

I can't trade, so evolving Graveler will be impossible.

Also, I'll be starting by University year next week, and I won't be able to post until... well, I don't know. So... Make me a HG Challenge please, so I can play after beating Pt. No trading will be possible.

So, I'll be taking:

1.Start with a Totodile named Croc. It may only know level up and tutor moves. No TM's, no HM's, and no egg moves.

2.If trading is allowed, take a Squirtle or Piplup, your choice. No evolution for you either way! Trade it to your cart once you beat Bugsy (it can only have level up moves at the time you trade it, no higher than level 10). It must also solo Clair's Kingdra, Lt. Surge, Erika, and Red's Pikachu.

3.Take a corsola, must have dual screens, and must be fished up in the union cave.

4.Get a Remoraid. It may only evolve by learning Flamethrower. Once he evolves, he must have at least one physical attack and at least one special attack.

5.Balance your team a bit with a Growlithe. It must successfully Roar away a gym leader's Pokemon and solo whatever gets dragged in 3 times, with 3 separate gym leaders. Until it fulfills that it may not use fire moves outside of gym battles. It can evolve when you have the Storm Badge.

Do you mean he can't evolve, or he can't reach the top?
I'll also need random pokemon to trade for some of them.

@newango, your first hg pokemon will be a geodude named Rocky. As soon as it learns self desutruct (or if it already knows it) you must immediately move him to the front and use self-destruct on the next wild pokemon you see that doesn't resist self destruct. If it survives, catch it and name it "ApolloCreed" (if that doesn't fit abbreviate) and release Rocky. If it doesn't, release Rocky and catch a new geodude and name it Rocky II and follow the same steps. If you manage to get to Rocky III onwards start naming the wild pokemon after the correct villain. If you manage to get all the way up to the recent Rocky movie, just name the geodude Balboa and stop as at this point Sylvester Stallone is too old to do any real dammage to anything, let alone self destruct. Either way, your final pokemon (either the rocky villain or Balboa) must know a move with "punch" in it's name, if possible (if not, no restrictions) Also if you end up with Balboa it may never use selfdestruct/explosion.

EDIT: I put waaaay too much thought into these things, don't I? Anyway, just thought to mention that no sploding on stationaries like lugia/ho-oh/snorlax or anything like that. Defeats the spirit of the challenge.

@newango, for Heartgold take a Bellsprout. It must solo Falkner, Bugsy, and your Rival's starter in Azalea Town (regardless of it's type) to evolve to Weepinbell. Until it evolves it must be your highest level Pokemon. Once you defeat the Red Gyarados it must have Exp.Share equipped at all times.

@Puffinrock, if you're referring to the Squirtle or Piplup, neither one can evolve beyond their first stage.

@newango, catch a Pinsir in the Bug-catching contest and name it Korios. It may only have two attacking moves, and one must be Vital Throw. Until it solo's Jasmine (two attempts max) it can't be used against anyone affiliated with Team Rocket.

Newango:

Take a Goldeen. Name it FUCK YEAH!

It must always know Waterfall, Water Pulse, and Aqua Ring. It may not know another move. It must evolve after soloing the Red Gyarados at the Lake of Rage, only then is it angry enough to say FUCK YEAH!!

I hope this is frustrating.

Have a bloody horrible time! XOXOXOXOXO hugs and kisses!

Challenges
1) Mudkip: no Evolutions, no Stab except HMs
2) Ralts: Named Hammond. Must be only Pokemon used in Kecleon battle, otherwise no Gardevoir, can only evolve at Lv. 35 or higher and after fortree and can not learn Psychic by level up.
3) Numel: To evolve it must solo 7 gym pokemon and can only know one of the following: Eruption, Rock Slide, or Earthquake
4) Kecleon: Named Arceus, It must be the one Steven points out. It's type must change to the following types by the following cities. Otherwise, it can not be used until the E4.
Mossdeep: electric, psychic, dark, water, fire, grass
Sootopolis: ice, ground, poison, rock, bug, fighting
Victory Road: dragon, ghost, steel
5) Swablu: Named Puff M.D, must always know two support moves upon and after evolution, no dragon moves
6) Sableye: Must solo Brawley, otherwise no STAB moves.

Progress:
Just finished with Mauville City and I'm about to travel to whatever that town is that begins with an 'F'.

Mudkip - Lv 24
pkrs007.gif

- Strength
- Growl
- Mud Slap
- Bide

Dead Weight. He just got Strength and I haven't really "tested" how he does with it, but before that he could hardly do anything. However, he does get props for using Bide and Mud Slap to take down Roxanne. The only thing I can foresee him doing for this team is using Surf against the Mossdeep Gym and surfing against Steven's Armaldo and Claydol (if it makes it that far). It could also be useful with Protect against Norman, but there is a problem with this strategy, which will be addressed later.

Sableye - Lv 27
pkrs068.gif

- Rock Smash
- Leer
- Astonish
- Night Shade

Sableye has done so well supporting this team. This early in the game, Pokemon are still relying on primarily Normal attacks, so he can easily switch in and take charge. Rock Smash is pretty weak, but it was replacing Scratch and anything Astonish or Night Shade can't hit effectively, is usually hit super effectively by Rock Smash. He easily soloed Brawely (lol Makuhita Knock Off) and he (unfortunately) has and most likely will continue to have the best base stats for my team for a while.

Ralts (Nickname: Hammond) - Lv 24
pkrs029.gif

- Growl
- Confusion
- Teleport
- Calm Mind

I never got why people like Ralts so much. It's a pain to find and starts off with no attacks. It's weak against 3 of the 5 types in the Elite Four and it's defense is crap. However, it has shown some promise since Roxanne (whose Pokemon easily OHKO or 2HKO Ralts while taking jack from Confusion). Without Ralts, I would have had no hope of getting passed Wattson. I CMed up to +6 against Magnemite and Synchronize helped buy me more turns since both Magnemite and Magneton used T-Wave on me. However, even with +6, the fight was still difficult (3HKO against Magnemite, 2HKO (really? that's all?) against Voltorb, and 4HKO against Magneton).

Numel - Lv 20
pkrs101.gif

- Growl
- Ember
- Tackle
- Magnitude

Just got it and I'm still iffy on how it will due. It has good offensive potential, but it's TOO SLOW. I gave it a quick claw and I'm just hoping it will do better later.

Concerns:
- Overall, Ralts is still underpowered and I feel that the problem will get worst as he can't evolve until Lv 35 or Foretree City (whichever comes last). And not getting Psychic until Victory Road (that's where the TM is) is disappointing as well.
- Numel is the largest concern so far (curse you lolcat!). I have to solo 7 gym pokemon to evolve. The last gym (Water) is out of the question as Numel will be wrecked because of its 4x Weakness. In the Mossdeep Gym, it's impossible to solo (and even if I could, what's Numel going to due to levitating Rock types?). The fourth gym isn't a problem, but that still leaves four pokemon to solo in the fifth and sixth gyms (Two Slaking, a Vigoroth, A Swellow, a Pelliper, an Alteria, and a Skarmory). With Numel's crap defenses, the Normal Gym is going to be pretty difficult and I can't get Protect until Lilycove. Oh well, I guess I'm thinking to far ahead. I'll need to solo the Fire Gym and then think from there.

Until next time
EddieD

-Nosepass that has the Magnet Pull ability. In order for it to evolve, it must learn Stealth Rock. Once it does, it can't forget it, and it has to use it as the first move against every Gym Leader and Elite 4 member you fight after you teach it Stealth Rock. Nickname it Pulley.
-Riolu given to you by Riley. It may evolve after soloing one of Byron's Pokemon. If its ability is Steadfast, it must know Reversal. If its ability is Inner Focus, it must know Counter.
If it has a +Atk nature, it must know Swords Dance.
+Def nature, it must know Rest.
+SpAtk nature, it must know Flash Cannon.
+SpDef nature, it must know Captivate.
+Speed nature, it must know Endure.
Neutral nature, it must know Return.
-If it does not have the corresponding nature or ability, it can not learn that move.

-zubat and name it ulquiorra. It must learn hyper beam when it is a crobat.

-Marill with Huge Power, and name it Mac&Cheez. It can't battle unless it's holding a resistance berry (Passho, Chople, Yache etc.). It can evolve when you have the Relic Badge.

-Ralts. Name it "EasyVer.", and it must have a nature that boosts something (no neutral natures).

-Houndour, it must learn Suckerpunch ASASAP. to evolve it must Suckerpunch Candice's Froslass and one other of her pokemon, no fire moves during the gym battle. After it evolves you must teach it Odor Sleuth in place of Sucker punch and it must also learn Return. No physical Dark moves as a Houndoom. Name it ScoobyDoom

Well, I've been away for over 3 weeks and I started to play this scramble on platinum. I'm going to celestic town right now and I must say that after ulquiorra learned wing attack it's been too easy...

Team:

ulquiorra Lv. 42 (Male Crobat)
Adamant, Shell Bell

Pulley Lv. 35 (Male Probopass)
Serious, Quick Claw

(BAN ME PLEASE)Ver Lv. 36 (Male Gardevoir)
Calm, Odd Incense

MacCheez Lv. 38 (Male Azumarill)
Jolly, Colbur Berry

ScoobyDoom Lv. 25 (Female Houndour)
Calm, Exp. Share

MVP: ulquiorra has been the MVP by far. After Pulley setting rocks (restriction) he came in and soloed Gardenia, Fantina and Maylene. He's also the poke I use to level up the others through the use of Exp. Share. He's helped with every poke of my team.

LVP: Pulley is so hard to level up! Seriously, all he has is rock slide (just learned it) and he misses a lot. He basically sets up rocks and cripples opponent's leads with T-Wave.

@Newango, take the first Aipom you catch. After evolving with double hit, it must know Nasty Plot and 3 special attacking moves, if its ability is Technician. If it has the other ability, it must know Toxic, Protect and Double Hit at all times.

The BIG Update!

Alright, so last time I updated I was outside Ilex Forest. I don't remember a whole lot other than it was easy, as was most of the game until the later bosses. I'll give a status report on each pokemon and how I met the conditions I needed to meet in order to complete the challenge (I'm not completely done, though).

yanma.png

Yanma. (buzzbuzz)

(Caught in a Premier Ball - Can't evolve until it knows U-Turn and Ancient Power)

I actually forgot about the conditions for Yanma when I first caught him. I stood in that little patch of grass by the National Park and fought 65 times until I found one. I caught it in an ultra ball (d'oh!) and carried on until I looked at the scramble challenge to remind me who else I needed. Needless to say, I was peeved. I then went back, but only had to fight 10 times to find another Yanma (talk about uber luck). I caught him in a premier ball (I bought 100 pokeballs so that I would have 10 premier balls, used all of my money that I had gathered at the time). I used the TM for U-Turn and put it at the head of my party to scout my opponents team.

He is currently a level 28 yanma, but in 5 levels he'll be able to evolve into Yanmega. Yay.

ONE DOWN!

cyndaquil_display.png

Cyndaquil. (Foxxy C.)

(F) (Named Foxxy C. - Must cancel the evolution until I solo the next gym)

Alright, I originally was going to grind the crap out of Cyndaquil so I could evolve her on the first two gyms, but I gave up after evolving on the first gym. I did manage to get to level 36 while facing Team Rocket at the Radio Station, and I intentionally saved Jasmine and her steel types for Quilava to solo, and so she evolved into Typhlosion.

She is level 45 right now, only 6 more until I can shelve him to focus on my others for the elite four.

OODLES AND OODLES OF WOOTLES

Girafarig.gif

Girafarig. (Greg)

(Baton Pass + Calm Mind or Agility - must solo Chuck with either Psybeam or Psychic - must use Baton Pass in 2 or more of the elite 4 battles)

Oh Greg. When I caught him and Slowbro was a Slowpoke still, this guy was my main man (after Foxxy C.). He out level'd every single pokemon on my team and was unstoppable. Fortunately, this was right around the time of Chuck, and without even thinking about the condition for Greg, I solo'd Chuck with him. Talk about lucky. Unfortunately, quickly after finishing Chuck my Slowpoke evolved, and Girafarig fell from grace as Slowbro did his job, but better. He still gets appearances as an Agility passer, and once he learns Calm Mind he's going to be a powerhouse, as my team is largely SpA based.

As it stands now he is level 32 and I still need to use BP in 2 or more of the elite four battles.

Almost there!

79%20-%20pokemon%20slow%20slowpoke.gif
this was literally the only uniquely posed Slowpoke I could find.
Slowpoke. (HotChix)

(Surf + Psychic move - it must attack first against 20 trainer pokemon in order to evolve)

I immediately picked up Confusion as soon as I could, and Slowpoke became quite useful. He has Yawn, so he became my main tool in catching other pokemon (he had a hand in catching Yanma, Scyther, Girafarig, and Lugia). After catching Girafarig, Slowpoke kind of fell behind in levels, but in Team Rocket's hideouts I managed to level him up, and by the time he hit 37 he had easily achieved 20 first-strikes. He evolved, and now we're best friends for life.

As it stands right now I try to keep him equal with Foxxy, so he is 45 as well. Yay!

Outstanding!

scyther_arkeis_thumb.png

Scyther. (Romah)

(Swarm - Can't evolve into Scizor)

Now, Scyther probably would have been really useful if I hadn't gotten him so late. It probably took me a week of trying to solo bug pokemon with a level 20+ Slowpoke in the bug contest to find a Scyther. And my first 2 both were Technician. But my third was a Swarmer, so I caught him and named him Romah (As in Bad Romance Ro - ma - ro - ma - ma). However, I only had Pryce and Clair left at this point, so I gave him my Exp. Share and took him for a ride. I haven't really got a whole lot of use out of him yet, he seems quite fragile, but I plan on putting some meat on his bones with EVs and levels.

As I stand right now he is 35 and enjoying the exp share, hah.

Magnificent!

108___Lickitung_by_Winter_Freak.jpg

Lickitung (MilkyWay)

(MilkyWay - 3 Normal movies + Knock Off - Solo Clair's Kingdra)

I must admit, I kind of cheated here. I caught Lickitung, power leveled him up to 40, and then tried to kill Clair's Kingdra. Needless to say, I got trounced, but I noticed I had an abundance of X items and I had an idea. I bought 6 X Defends, X Sp. Defs, and X Specials, as well as TM15, also known as Hyper Beam. On Clair's first pokemon, Gyarados, I alternated between disable/X items/hyper potions and managed to use all 18 of the X items. By that time I was quite sick of the fight, so I started Hyper Beaming. I OHKO'd every one of her pokemon with it, and I was a happy camper. That's where I kind of cheated. However, he did solo Clair's Kingdra, so...

Mission Accomplished!

Oh yeah, and he is currently 41.

--

As you can see, buzzbuzz and Greg have had rather limited usage, mostly because HotChix is a better version of Greg and buzzbuzz is pretty weak. However, I'm working on leveling everyone up to 50ish and then I'm going to take on the elite four. I'll talk about the journey in a bit. Should be cool.

I'm planning on ditching this team to a certain extent after i beat the elite four. I'll keep HotChix, Foxxy, Romah, and MilkyWay, but I think buzzbuzz has had a hard enough time as it is, and I'm going to find someone with more type coverage, as Greg is rather redundant.

All of my previous posts are in my signature.

Hey wow, Newango didn't get a starter for his challenge. Which is kind of unusual for Scrambles.

In that case, Newango you may use a Chikorita until you catch my Bellsprout, Cyndaquil until you catch doomvendingmachine's Geodude, or Totodile until you catch DetroitLolCat's Goldeen. Take your pick. You must catch Bellsprout and Geodude before the first gym, and Goldeen before the second gym. Once you catch those respective Pokemon, you can no longer use your starter.

You can catch Goldeen using the Old Rod in Dark Cave, Union Cave, or Slowpoke Well.

Does anyone want to suggest one for me on Platinum?

Doesn't matter types (Keep in mind i'm playing on an emulator)

Eraddd: You are just asking for trouble, aren't you? You know i'm gonna give you a female Ralts, you know it won't evolve to Kirlia until Lv. 30, you know it will be called "GreenSlut", you know it won't have Psychic until you get the TM, you know you're screwed.

Eraddd, since you're playing on an emulator, you get Dratini (give it to yourself by any means you want, since you are playing on an emulator). You cannot teach it any Dragon moves, nor any TM/HM moves. You may not evolve to Dragonair until you defeat or capture Giratina, and you cannot evolve to Dragonite until the Elite Four is defeated (not counting the Champion).

Eradd, your starter shall be a chimchar, no nickname. it may only use moves that Ash's Infernape knows, which can be found on this page http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Ash's_Infernape.

to evolve from chimchar to monferno, it has to go into blaze range while in a rival battle, and proceed to sweep your rival by itself. to evolve from monferno to infernape, you have to beat Volkner's Electivire with a blaze boosted Flareblitz, and survive (you cant die from recoil).

@ eradd, you must catch an unaware bidoof and it must have charge beam, defense curl, amnesia, and another move of your choice to evolve and you must always think, "Why couldn't it have been a simple bidoof?!?" Name it "Ironic". Additionally some time during the elite 4 it must manage to get to +6 in special attack, defense and special defense at the same time.

Edit: so yeah volkner is the last gym, and I'm not that much of a douche, so you don't need charge beam to evolve, just defense curl/amnesia. Just give it charge beam as soon as you get the tm.

eradd, I'll give you a meditite that as to know an elemental punch as its ONLY physical move and can't learn psychic. That's all. Name it zdrup15

I know this is really off topic, but part of the challenge I gave eradd included getting an unaware (NOT simple) charge beam/defense curl/amnesia/move of his choice Bibarrel up to +6 in special attack, defense, and special defense at the same time during the elite 4/cynthia in platinum. Doing the math, this would require AT LEAST 15 turns to set up, and that's assuming every charge beam hits/gets the special attack bonus. This got me thinking, "if I had to do this challenge, which E4 pokemon would I try to set up against?" After looking through at their platinum teams, I decided that I would try to set up on Lucian's Bronzong, for a couple reasons. Zong's movset in platinum is psychic/gyro ball/calm mind/eq. Calm mind does nothing, because of unaware, and bibarrel resists gyro ball. This means that all Bibarrel has to watch out for is eq and STAB psychic. Additionally, since Bibarrel outspeeds zong it should be able to get up an amnesia before getting hit by the more threatening STAB psychic. Finally, if you were to manage to somehow accidentally hax your way through zong before getting to +6 special attack with charge beam, Lucian's next pokemon is Espeon, where you will likely be able to finish your boosting. The only negative I see is psychic's chance of lowering your special defense, but you could always just amnesia back up. Anyway, the point of this long, off-topic post was to ask; if you were issued the same challenge as I gave eradd, would you approach in the same way as I? If not then how do you feel it is best done?

Eradd: Use a Houndour. It must be named "Death" and can only evolve into Houndoom upon soloing Giratina in the first battle without using a Dark-type attack.

Right............ (FML)

Ralts (GreenSlut)
Evolves to Kirlia at level 30, cannot know Psychic except through TM, must be female.

Chimchar
Only knows moves that Ash's infernape knows
Blaze boosted chimchar must defeat Rival to evolve to monferno, and blaze boosted monferno must defeat Volkner's Electivire with flare blitz to evolve to infernape. Moveset: Flare Blitz, Flamethrower, Mach Punch and Dig. Stupid Ash.

Bidoof (Ironic) - Unaware
Must know Charge Beam, Amnesia, and Defense Curl and a move of my own choice (surf). Must get +6 in all boosts during E4. Must know Amnesia and Defense Curl to evolve.

Meditite (zdrup15)
Only knows one elemental punch, and no psychic. No Physical Moves. Gimped.

Hondour (Death)
Evolves to Houndoom upon soloing Giratina, without dark type attack.

I refuse to take Dratini on the grounds that it's pretty much almost impossible to level that bitch without any TM/HMs because its level up moves suck worse than do the Toronto Maple Leafs. Furthermore, I require a person who can use the HM move fly. Thanks.

Am I allowed to carry HM slaves?
