I love when I get to save things directly to the "Final Versions" folder, lol! Looks AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALSO! I am editing the encyclopedia and have decided to switch boompedo & pals to the water category. In the end the edited versions to make it seem electric just could not stand up to the originals. Thought youw ould like to know!

Hey, aXl, did you ever get a chance to edit this guy? I'm finally getting around to updating the encyclopedia and want to tie up all the loose ends floating out there. Thanks dude!

Ah, ok. I was gonna say. I have seen some novice work in my time and yours does not qualify, lol. it really looks great dude. Think you could do a juvenile form?
 
Sure! Mr. Atomic Cockroach looks like he's using Body Slam. I've been rather sensitive about my sprite quality after the epic fail on my submission for CAP 11.

Oh, and could I add antenna onto the old one? I seemed to have forgotten....

Of course! Its is your concept if you want to change it a bit that is your call. Cant wait to see the baby form!
 
Hey guyz! I fiished editing the Penguin, i'm not to sure of my lighting/color scheme, so feel free to QC it, because I am the youngest spriter on Smogon, and do not know how to fix it... :l

I went a bit brain-dead when thinking of a design for the baby cockroach, so in the meantime, I pulled out a Solar Raptor (if it isn't taken already).

I didn't think it could happen but the roach looks even better with antenna! Great job!

The raptor is absolutely available! I really like your concept but on the right where the arm and leg are overlapping it is kind of hard to tell what is going on. I think if you can find some way to clear that up a bit then it would be awesome! Thanks dude!

I like that you tried to make some changes! The eyebrow things look cool! I think that plating the flippers with metal is a bit too close to empoleon.... could you try something else?

If I may suggest, i think it would look much better if you had at least it's head, if not whole body turned to facing the player. facing same direction as most pokemon do...

Thats a good point and one I had thought of but then forgotten. If its possible it would be great to have the head turned a bit toward us.

And Doran you know I have no problem with people attempting to edit or make better a sprite/concept (the goal is to get the best work possible is it not? lol) So if you want to take a crack @ the raptor then be my guest!
 
Doran your adult snake has a lot of proportions. It do is great design, so are the colors, but a lot just not seems right.

- The curve of the neck is strange. It looks like it has a crack.
- The line-art is at some point very sloppy. Like in the right bottom corner.
- The body goes from thin to thick to thin. It looks like he just swallowed a whole human.
- The tip of the tongue is strange, is it looping or are two seperate tips overlapping each other.
- The outline is wrong. There is no black in the outline or an darker yellow colour.
- And make some changes to the adult form, make a increasable neck like a cobra or a different pattern, because it now looks like it's just a bigger version of the baby. It should look not only stronger but also improved, like it's capable to do so much more (Just like pokemon. Take the evolution of Charmeleon into Charizard is example. When Charmeleon evolves into Charizard it gets wings,stronger legs, an other colour etc.).

I hope you do something with the crit and make this sprite more awesome.
 
I might help out later, once I get my new laptop. I have some great ideas, but I'm afraid to download paint.net since my computer is nine years old :(

EDIT: I have a concept idea for someone to sprite. How about a Metal Scorpion with a Drill for a stinger and Buzz Saws instead of claws?

Thanks alot Dhjona. and dindt john say that these animals are not Evolving persey, but growing into their adult forms? so similarities between baby and adult are almost needed.

Doran if you want to mess with it based on these that is fine but none of them are truthfully things that I noticed or particularly care about. Its up to you though.

EDIT: The outline along the bottom of the bottom right corner of the sprite is pretty jagged. It could maybe use some smoothing.

As for Dhjona's last point that you commented on, you are absolutely right. We want a much more logical maturation than poke'mon provides. The charmeleon to charizard evolution (as well as dratini to dragonite) is exactly an example we use for justifying this decision because it just makes no logical sense. We want a more... scientifically sound game.

Also in this case if we give the adult a frill like a cobra then we just have a copy of ekans and arbok which we also really don't want to do.
