Well after a long time without spriting i'm back again. With the baby form of the electric creature. I think Jon will find it too fierce looking, but yust wanna get your oppinion on this guy.

Thanks! This is my first, fro mscratch sprite, and its just a rough draft, I whipped it up in about 6mins so dont laugh too hard.

Any feedback or criticism is much appreciated, I named it Yaktrolyte btw lol
 
if your using piant, use the circle tool to help with round objects. if you add eyes, I suggest cute eyes for this guy, if not, then maybe make the hair a little more like how you had it in the big picture.

Yeah it pretty rough atm, but you have acknowledged that. I agree with aXl, you need to round those edges out a good bit and then I would say to continue with the design. The concept seems sound enough! Thanks!
 
saw this thread, thought it was pretty cool, and before you know it, a pencil was in my hand! This is just a sketch for a fire type lobster, but I need to know a few things before I go on with this thing XD

1. Is this design even good enough to be considered?
2. My scratch spriting fails (I literally cannot do it, I've tried) so would someone be willing to create sprites for this guy, and his adult version?
3. If so, I have no fancy drawing software, so the fanciest I could get with concept art would be bristol paper, some fineliner markers, and some pastel colored pencils

A little info on this guy: I was thinking his tail would end up being colored like a gas pipe, with the flames coming out the end like a burner, and the black spots on his claws would be flints so he could clack them together to create sparks... and yeah that's about it

You nailed it! lol. Too fierce! At least for a baby form, but you know that because we have already talked about that. You did a great job though, you really have a talent for turning concept art into amazing sprites! I was in your fake'dex thread and also saw your most recently adapted version of the adult:

and I think I like the right one the best! I think Doran's comment is a good one though and the head should be tilted down towards the opponent... If you can make the baby less fierce looking and tilt the head down on the adult then I think we would be good to go!

It is actually the base outline color. I can lighten it easily enough though. Expect an edit soon.

Woops! I couldn't really remember who had said it but I remembered seeing Doran's avvie on there somewhere, lol. Sorry!

Yeah I kind of missed it, lol. I had seen it but then forgot to go back to that page and comment on in when I was catching up!

So lets see....

This guy definitely has potential but there are a couple of things that need changing. For one he needs to be flipped around so that he is facing the right way and make sure that the shading still works. I also think he would look better if his front arm was moved out a bit so that not so much of his body was blocked and if his back arm was brought down a bit to kind of mirror the position of the other arm. Also, does his wings have any kind of transparency on them? I am just getting to look @ the one with the blue background so I can't be sure atm.

About the head of the adult: I agree that the head actually should be tilted down, but with his head in this position, it looks so much fiercer. With his eye in the left corner it's also facing it's opponent. But I will make both.

@Djhona- Nice sprites! I really like the baby, but the adult's head doesn't seem right, but I'm sure Studio will like them! :D

The light source/shading is a bit odd... thats not really at all how it would work... but its a good trace job @ least!
 
Going AFK for a week, guys. I'll be back on Tuesday next week. Until then, enjoy yourselves and makes some excellent sprites for me!
