Smogon photoshop brushes thread

this is a group project to compile a list of the brushes the great artists on smogon use in photoshop.

if you want to contribute please keep it organized, bu posting a

link to where the brush can be downloaded
your name
and a sample of some work you have completed with this brush

i really hope this can get off the ground, as it will be a huge asset to all the artists on here!

I used this brush pack to make this.

It works excellently, there's cloud brushes and building brushes and broken glass brushes, it's awesome but you gotta be smart about the way you use 'em.

Any brush intended for a specific version Photoshop should be compatible with all versions of Photoshop. I could be wrong, but there's no harm done in trying it out.

Thanks! I've been looking at getting this really sweet tablet, and it comes with Photoshop Elements already there. That's why I was asking specifically. :)

Cool Bucky, I got to download this and give it a shot. Mostly I have "made" brushes I need. For instance, when making this:

I made my own brushes to get the right leaf shapes for the various plants. BTW this is kind of a blue print design for a real aquarium with real plant species. I like drawing and painting, but aquarium design is my real calling in art. :D

how do i get these brushes to work on photoshop? ive downloaded the file but ve kinda been confused about getting them to work? Anyone give me a tutorial on this would be a great as im a photoshop noob.

FUUUUUUU-

I need Photoshop. Would Brushes like this work on Photoshop Elements, if anyone knows?

You should be able to download them, but some probably will not work correctly, due to there being no flow feature in elements. That means that you couldn't set that to pen pressure for example. It also means that with flow being gone, blending would be more difficult.

Ok, I have to admit-- I just downloaded that brush set, than looked through that guy's videos and work. I thought I had a fair concept of how to use photoshop-- wow, there is just so much to this program and its manipulation. Eye-opener. Thank you Bucky!

Hey, Bombiron, why don't you make this a Tutorials and Resources thread so that both brush hunters and artists who are looking for extra help can come here and ask for it? And maybe the more experienced artists can step in and provide specific tutorials for those who ask? Just an idea.

Bucky, if you dont make an art thread RIGHT NOW, I will take away your front row tickets to the Canalave City Bulk Berries playoff.

Yeah that seems a great idea!
I just started with GIMP, and I still think I'm way too unexperienced to play with diffrent brushes,
So I would love to see some good tutorials so I can start struggling with brushes :p

And I agree with the others Bucky, but take your time, no need to rush :p

1. Turning this into a Tutorial and Resources thread is a good idea, then we can make it a stickied thread in this forum should it really take off.

2. I'm surprised Bucky doesn't have an art thread here already, this must be fixed! The sooner the better!

Friendly Tip:

Don't rely on fancy, downloaded brushes. Never, ever, rely on such effect brushes. Your work will only turn out bad. They should only be used as added effects or for small details.

...but with this in mind, if you ever get into speedpainting, or you're laying in the groundwork for a painting/doing thumbnails, keep a good reserve of textures, effects, etc on hand to get shit down FAST.

But don't just leave it there undoctored if you're bringing it to finish.

sorry everyone, but to be honest, i dont really know how to move the thread, i have had lot less time than i thought i would, when i made this thread so i dont even think i can manage it all the time, if someone (bucky) could take this over that would be great
