43.5% - 51.6%
That's how much Defensive Empoleon takes from Heatran's Earth Power, and its primarily physically defensive. After leftovers that's an incredibly low chance to 2HKO. Meanwhile the same empoleon (with these outdated EV spreads) deals 73.1% - 86.1% to Heatran off of a surf. In the off chance that a Heatran does manage to trick Empoleon, and not be a choice scarf variant, Empoleon can still take the heat.

Meanwhile, Empoleon with Thick Fat could completely wall out or counter many sets from the following pokemon:
Azelf
Celebi
Jirachi
Kingdra
Roserade
Suicune
Skarmory
Shaymin
Tentacruel
Vaporeon
Weavile

Pokemon who Surf could potentially 2HKO and outspeeds with right EV spread and assuming MAX HP EVs on the defender's part (basically I'm saying thesae guys have to go for the revenge kill)
Machamp
Hippodown
Magnezone

Please note that a good deal of these pokemon straight up counter Swampert. If I fear bulky waters and strong grass types, then I would be better to put Empoleon on my team than Swampert.

This is a Physical metagame. If this were like the other gens and were special, Swampert wouldn't have as much against Empoleon. If the metagame can switch from Physically based to specially based, than it can do the same next Gen, where Empoleon resisting Fire will be more than welcome, as will its Special Attack.

-Azelf: Isn't really seen as a sweeper anymore thanks to Scizor...and the NP set does often carry HP fighting/ground for Tyranitar and Heatran, meaning that Empoleon is not an entirely safe switch.

-Celebi: Empoleon is hit neutrally by Grass Knot/Leaf Storm/Energy Ball, while a defensive set isn't doing much back with Ice Beam.

-Jirachi: SumCM will Thunderbolt you as usual. Physical sets do sometimes have Thunderpunch...all other sets Empoleon deals with as is.

-Kingdra: Empoleon already walls Kingdra? Thick fat wouldn't help here anyway.

-Roserade: Eh, draw. Empoleon can be slept or will force Roserade out, at the cost of considerable health lost to Leaf Storm.

-Suicune: Thick fat, again, does not really help here. Offensive Suicune will CM up in your face unless you have Roar; Yawn doesn't phaze Crocune because of Sleep Talk.

-Skarmory: lol

-Shaymin: Is using Earth Power against you anyway, especially once SpD drops. Not sure what Thick Fat does for you here.

-Tentacruel: It sets up Tspikes and Spins your rocks. You do nothing. Thick fat is useless.

-Vaporeon: Happily Wishpasses...you do nothing. Thick Fat doesn't help.

-Weavile: You already 4x resist Ice...but that's irrelevant because Ice is often paired with fighting (see Low Kick/Brick Break).

Not sure where you were going with that.

As for the cat...I don't care if it's real or fake either way. The purple seems to imply poison/ghost/or dark typing if it is real, though.

I lol'd. Once at the nickname you have for Miju3 and once for the second part xD

Anyway they were proved fake... remember that gif that somebody posted a while back that pointed out that little line on the side?
No, I haven't seen it, but serebii's saying they're probably real now. Can I have a link to that gif?

I'm sick and tired of these whole starters "fake or not" deal, so I'm going to talk about something else.

I wonder what new moves the old Pokémon are going to get. Personally, I hope that Arceus and Mothim get Nasty Plot, Delibird gets Roost, A-Deoxys gets Tickle, Mareep gets Explosion, and all Wormadam get Swords Dance.

My 2¢.

Gengar for Nasty Plot please.

If GF wants to be really generous, give it Nasty Plot and Encore.

Gengar: a master of versatility.

btw, has anyobody talked about the combination of attacks? and talking about attacks, is there a slight possibility, a tiny tiny possibility that pokemons from the DW have exclusive attacks (like the PW)

That new cat pokemon (Glameow clone by the looks of it) has made me rethink my stance on the revealed pokemon. I previously thought they were generally good, but looking through them again, most of them are pretty unremarkable, if not plain iffy.

3 Starters: Meh. Need to wait to see their evos (REAL evos that is).

Minezumi/Miruhoggu: Pretty cool. Its look should give it a pretty unique movepool for a normal type rodent, I hope anyway.

Chillarmy: Just plain cool. Ideally I'd like it to have a good SpA stat to abuse Technician and the movepool to go with it, since there are no decent Special Technicians. NP Persian/ Ambipom doesn't count.

Munna/Musharna: Meh. Seems like a drowzee rehash, right down to the typing/ hypnosis/ getting high thing.

Gear: Just depends on stats. Can't see it being OU.

Mamepato: Pretty cool. Interesting to see what direction GF have took with it.

Hihidaruma: I initially disliked it. Now I'm indifferent. Hopefully it (and others cough*FLAREON*cough) gets a good physical Fire type move to abuse.

Shimama: Bad-to-the-ass. Hopefully it doesn't make it to OU, cause UU could use a (ANY) decent Electric type.

Meguroko: Cool. Need to see more.

Rankurusu: I loved it when I first seen it cause I thought it would be Grass/ Ghost. Pretty disappointed it's yet another Psychic type.

Gochiruzeru: Meh. Seemed like a shoe-in for Psychic/Dark type. See above. Funny now that GF have made 3 (Gardevoir, Jynx, and it) very womanly pokemon someone is that much closer to making a Pimps'n'Hoes themed team.

Koromiri: Ick. Hate it. Even that supposed evo that everyone spooged their load over sucked.

Kibago: Generally not really bothered. Dragon types are awesome to look at but I've had very few in game because they're just too much grinding.

Wooguru: Fucking Boss, Lord of the skies, will carry many a rattata to its doom, terror from above, etc, etc.

Shikijika: Intriguing. Need to see more

Kurumiru: Automatically love bug pokes, so this was a given. REALLY hoping it breaks the trend of Bug/Flying types having crap stats, or even giving it a different typing.

Emonga: Love it. Its like some kind of superhero. Hopefully with the stats/movepool to match.

Denchura: Me like.

Aaand, I'm too lazy/ don't like them enough to do the rest.

Rankurusu is probably my favourite Pokemon so far. It's why I'm getting Pokemon White (plus I prefer Zekrom). Whereas Black gets that horrible Jynx in a 1800's corset known as Gochiruzeru.

The new cat looks cool. Maybe it is a Dark-type with Serene Grace or an ability that inflicts ''bad luck'' (if based on a black cat).

@elchupo: Hail Wargle, lord of the pwnage!

Seriously I don't like Gochiruzeru. I prefer Rankurusu but I prefer Reshiram though so I'm torn between. I just need to see the rest of the exclusive pokemon in both version..

Good, cause you were boring everyone. Really we just need time to get used to them. And while Gothiselle was a missed opportunity for a new type combination, it may be quite useful when we know more.

GTS!

Oh sorry, I'll try not to post any more. What was everyone talking about before? Fake starters? Yeah, much more interesting, and not done to death AT ALL.

Wooguru would get owned by a FEAR rattata.

...Unless Wargle gets Quick attack, or any kind of priority at all.

Here are my choices for the new Dream World Abilities:
Effect Spore/Solar Power Bulbasaur
Shell Armor Squirtle
Intimidate Charmander
Natural Cure Chikorita
Intimidate Totodile
Flash Fire Cyndaquil
Limber/Leaf Guard Treeko
Dry Skin Mudkip
Guts Torchic
Solid Rock Turtwig
Limber/Vital Spirit Chimchar
Swift Swim/Battle Armor Piplup (lol why did 2 people say pressure?)
Hydration Vaporeon (confirmed)
Static Jolteon
Flame Body Flareon (This seems obvious...and can actually be useful)
Trace Espeon
Insomnia Umbreon (lol @ the guy who said technician)
Chlorophyll Leafeon
Ice Body Glaceon (confirmed)
Snow Cloak/Snow Warning Articuno
Volt Absorb Zapdos
Solar Power/Flash Fire Moltres
Water Absorb Suicune
Volt Absorb Raikou
Flash Fire/Intimidate Entei
Drizzle Lugia
Serene Grace Ho-Oh :naughty:
Solid Rock Regirock
Ice Body Regice
Battle Armor Registeel
Simple Dragonite??
Tinted Lens Flygon (Oh Yes)
Serene Grace/Cloud Nine Altaria

STAB Outrage + Tinted Lens + base 100 attack + Choice Band = a clusterf*ck of brokenness. Too bad Flygon didn't keep Arena Trap while it still was Trapinch, even if keeping it made no aesthetic sense whatsoever.

806 Attack and 518 Speed after a single Dragon Dance. That'd be so much fun though :)

It would be insane fun.

I'd quite like a Simple Jirachi. Calm Mind/Cosmic Power would make for an epic last Pokemon (so no roar/whirlwind). Again, pretty broken though.

Anything with Simple and good stats is simply (ha) broken.

Simple Feraligatr, Simple Scyther, Simple Cresselia, Simple Bibarel

oh wait

And i still believe in my Meganium getting Magic Guard...
