Ask a simple question, get a simple answer - mark 24 (READ THE OP)

2 quick questions:

1) Why is Heracross UU? I can't wrap my mind around that yet.

2) How exactly does Zoroark's ability work, or is that known yet?

Thanks in advance.

1) Heracross was just not used enough in in the standart tier to be OU

2)dont know that and propaby noone will

NOOO!! HERACROSS IS UU?! :(
Dang it! I always miss tier changes like that. Can anyone direct me to a list of recent tier changes, if there are any more significant ones?

Shining Kestral:

I'm afraid that doesn't answer the question exactly. The question was whether Rotom will revert to its normal form if it's traded with a Link Cable or through DS Local Wireless Connection.

I am atm in South Korea for..well a family thing and I am trying to get into this Korean tourny with the VGC 2010 rules but with Arceus (as long as it's legal it's fine with however I want the EVs to be). Which moveset should I use?

I was thinking something(s) like

nature: Jolly (or adamant? which would be "better"?)
item: not sure -_-
move 1: Extremespeed
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Shadow Claw
move 4: Protect

nature: Timid
item: not sure -_-
move 1: Judgement
move 2: Thunder
move 3: Surf/Dark Pulse/Heat Wave/not sure here either
move 4: Protect

Another quick question, i'm new to this competitively training stuff, but should i max out the pp of all moves on all my pokemon for my competitive team?

Hi. I just registered here a second ago..I'm having a bit of trouble understanding the whole concept of the RNG for HG/SS..I have Diamond, but I haven't even caught a chained shiny..I've caught 3 or 4 random shiny's in my HG. I'm currently trying to find my SID. I have to use a shiny's IV's (but not the red gyarados, correct?) to find out my SID, correct? If anyone can help me out with all this I'd be eternally grateful. Thanks.

If I have a Pokemon with Scope Lens, Super Luck, Focus Energy and using a high critical-hit ratio move like Psycho Cut, will I have 100% chance to crit?

It's quite the difficult process. And the easiest way to find your SID if you don't use any external devices is to trade a Pokémon to somebody who can use a hacking or cheating device to find your SID

Also, reposting:

Which Pokémon is most zombie like?
  • Muk (looks rather zombified, Pokédex entries mention degeneration, infection, and decaying) [1.5 vote(s)]
  • Marowak (is holding a bone and wearing a skull, a dead one haunts Lavender Tower, Marowak graveyard)
  • Banette (is undead)
  • Froslass (legend has it that she also undead) [1 vote]
  • Kabutops (is reanimated by science)
  • Armaldo (is also reanimated by science)
  • Parasect (Pokédex entries mention being brainwashed, and being toxic) [2 vote(s)]

I'll keep track of people's opinions: Shining Kestral, Fatecrashers, BuddyBlueBomber, Athenodoros

reading the optional changes in Porygon-Z's dex entry:

"Conversion can be used with Dark Pulse and Nasty Plot (and a fourth move like Substitute, Recover, or another attack). Adaptability will make Dark Pulse as powerful as Tri Attack would once Porygon-Z is a Dark-type. The strategy takes two turns to set up, though: one to Conversion, making Porygon-Z a Dark-type (with STAB Adaptability Dark Pulse), and another to Nasty Plot, so you can do some damage. Using just Normal- and Dark-type moves will guarantee Conversion's turning you into a Dark-type. However, you can take a gamble and use a second attacking move as well."

this kind of made me lol in confusion? why would porygon-z ever want to do this?

1. If you're going to run Conversion at all, it's best to use Dark Pulse as the attacking move since Nasty Plot is Dark-type already.

2. Dark Pulse seems to be the only attacking move on this optional set, this is good since Dark-type gets nice neutral coverage on most things.

3. Dark Pulse hits Ghosts hard, who often see Porygon Z and its Tri-Attack as a free chance to switch in.

(1 would be the main reason I think.)

@ Lordkira: There are loads of sets for Arceus, although I think the most popular is Swords Dance/Extremespeed/Shadow Claw/Earthquake @ Silk Scarf or Life Orb. Otherwise, If you are looking for more sets, try Serebii's Pokemon of the Week. Don't laugh. They are there, and they work.

@ Letsgocraaaazy: You can also use the Red Gyarados, as though it were a chained shiny from DPP, and this is definitely the easiest way if you don't want to trade.

Also, for Zaccheaus, I vote Froslass.

What are the benefits of having Adamant nature over Jolly nature for the "Offensive Gyarados" with Life Orb?

When choosing Jolly nature it seems most of the necessary KOs will already be taken care with the use of "Stealth Rock." The speed boost from Jolly nature lets Gyarados outrun other slower Gyarados, Jolly/Naive Dragonite, Naive Heatran, Jolly Mamoswine, Jolly Smeargle, Timid Togekiss; then after a DD will also let it outrun Jolly Aerodactyl, Jolly Crobat, Scarf Adamant Gyarados, Scarf Naive Heatran, Timid Jolteon, and Scarf Adamant Lucario. That extra speed really does seem to come in handy especially in crucial moments and late-games.

No, you can't transfer pokemon using PBR. You could transfer PBR speicial pokes (i.e. Surf Pikachu) onto cartridges though.

How come, in the spreads listed in smogon for wondercard pkmn, the frame stated for them is always higher than what the RNG reporter says?
I.E. I'm trying to get the spread on seed 0A140262 and it states frame 26. When that seed is put into the RNG reporter, it states the frame is 24.

Help please!

Edit: This is the link (in smogon) with the spreads i'm refering to...
