>You can't get items through the Pokeshifter

I was thinking about this: Where does this leave Giratina's Origin Forme? Will it be left out of future games? Or will there be another way to shift Giratina without the Griseous Orb? Or will there simply be a way for the Orb to be found in Isshu?

New Rumor from a guy on SA Grass/Flying, Fire/Rock, Water/Fighting

Lol, that's what I suggested a while back, I think. Makes sense as another triangle type thing.

And Psychic-Dark-Fighting isn't the same as Dark is immune to Psychic, not resistant as Water is to Fire.

It seems like they should have some sort of key item that triggers all pokemon form changes.

This is BS.

There is no reason why items shouldn't be able to come from gen IV to V if they were allowed from III to IV (different systems).

Presumably they'll give out the orb somewhere in BW

Assuming the "no items" rings true

Super Sentai FTW.
Indeed.

I care about my grades, I'm just bored right now and want news about one of my favorite videogames.

And lol @ Power Rangers justification. Seriously...this is fail squared.
*sigh* It's not Power Rangers, it's Super Sentai. SS is PR's source material.

And PR never even used the DaiRanger costumes, with the exception of the White one. They decided to use DaiRanger's monsters and mecha with ZyuRanger costumes.

Coro-Coro just couldn't come sooner...

Adding on another 40-50 TMs on top of the 92 old ones is a bit much. Besides, they are now unlimited usage, and probably have quests or whatnot associated with them now.

The main reason they wouldn't add on to the current TM list would be the sheer volume of TMs. There are already 92 TMs (which is way too many already, in my opinion). They would most likely add another 50 or so. 142 TMs and ~8 HMs would be ridiculous.

Gah, why would they do this to me! I liked hording my TMs...

Ohwell.

Still no item moving is silly, just prevent certain items being moved over.

Besides having 150 Teachable moves is nice as it allows for you to teach you pokemon moves they wouldn't normally know. :P

Why wouldn't they simply add onto the old TM list? Where did you find out that they are remodeling TMs?

It's never been said, but since TMs can be used infinitely, it goes to reason that they won't let you have more than one of a particular TM, so you wouldn't be able to transfer those.

EDIT: Ninja'd.

Except they're remodeling the TM list. They did not do this between ADV and DPP.

That doesn't really prevent transferring of items. Remember that you don't transfer TM Thunderbolt, you transfer TM 24. The move taught would just depend on which game the TM is in.

However, this does raise the issue of forms. HGSS removed the need for the Secret Key altogether, so I'm sure they could incorporate other ways to get the forms (much like every game since DP has had meteorites for Deoxys).

I like the idea of a second triangle, but not in the way described above. Fire/Rock, Grass/Flying, Water/Fighting just reinforces the original triangle by making the pokemon even weaker to the starters they already lost to.

Water/Flying, Grass/Fighting, Fire/Rock (W/R, F/Fi, G/Fl or W/Fi, F/Fl, G/R) would be more interesting because it actually allows for each starter to hit the other two for STAB super-effective damage.

Granted not all of those work on all of the starter evolutions we have seen so far, but maybe next Gen . . .

It's not an issue at all. Have someone give you the Gracedia if you have a Shaymin, another person give you the dragon orbs for your Dragon, put some area somewhere that leads to the machines for your Rotom. Also put meteors somewhere.

Fire/Rock would be the worst thing ever unless it had levitate and stealth rock immunity. >_>

I like the Psy/dark/Fight triangle. Sure one is immune but its not like a Grass pokemon should be able to take on a fire pokemon. IV did the whole 'all effective' thing I hope V doesn't.

But what about all of our berries!?! And rare candies that I've been hording!!

Ohmura: There was also talk this time about dividing the three starters into Japanese, Western, and Chinese styles of design. Tsutaaja was based on Western design, and Pokabu was rooted in a Chinese style, so I was told, "Let's make Mijumaru into a more Japanese-style design." Someone even asked, "Can't you make Mijumaru into a samurai?" [laughs]
Everyone: [laughs]
Sugimori: I worried about it for a while, and I eventually went to go see the sea otters at the aquarium. I happened to catch the sea lion show while I was there, and I became aware of the sea lion's power. "Well, let's try blending a sea otter and a sea lion," I thought. I came up with the idea of making the shell on Mijumaru's stomach into a sword (katana) and using it to fight, and that's how I completed Mijumaru and its evolution."
Is this translation valid? Is the source reliable? If so I take the bit about design style to mean just that; the design of the Pokemon draw inspiration from a generalization of each region's art style, obviously fitted to mesh with the Pokemon world.

Smugleaf's large bulbous eyes could be viewed as a classic cartoon staple. The shape of its head, especially, is demonstrative of modern Western animation. Strong attention paid to silhouette, you get something of a flat, graphic shape that makes a powerful statement viewed from a specific angle, but does not lend itself well to be being turned around in three dimensions.

Otter is kind of a parody of Japanese chibi motifs...Hello Kitty and all....at least I find it funny.

Fire Pig isn't the easiest to argue as obviously Chinese. Chinese animation before it started getting homogenized to look more Western or Japanese looked a lot like their classical brush paintings come alive. In that sense, the designs could be said be intricate, with emphasis on curves and swirls. Very rounded lines, but not consisting of even shapes like circles.

Anyway, all that to say, if we were to take stock in that interview, I don't think it'd mean the Pokemon were designed taking into account Western or Chinese themes...they already create Pokemon drawn from cultures all over the world. It also wouldn't point to Grass/Dragon as dragons are staples of legends from many cultures anyway.
Also, I'm pulling for Grass/Psychic...EVEN if it means we get another Fire/Fighting!

If you believe Melkor, Tsutarja will remain pure grass, Miju pure Ware, and Pokabu goes to Fire/Fighting.

Did we ever get confirmation on the infinite TM thing? I remember it being mentioned in a group of rumours and it was just accepted at that.

Pokabu's broad striped patterns could work, I guess

Wait what design interview what oh god where did you get this I NEED MORE

I don't believe Melkor and his shitty attempts at justifying why his 'sprites' look shitty. "Oh yeah well... they are fan art!"

Also, there are some pictures of Japanese text from a Japanese magazine that assumedly comes from Pokemon Pia. One person translated them.

I don't believe the translation at least since the two pictures don't add up to make the same page.

It's not like the it's a booklet or anything, and that they are probably pictures from two different pages.

CoroCoro's leaks are similar, getting bits and pieces.
