Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I have the option of going for two spreads. I'm able to hit the delay on each spread no problem the only issue I'm having is the frames. To fully explain I'll list the spreads:

A8170268 | 2014 09 17 | 23:01:14 | 602 | 6
E3120266 | 2014 09 23 | 18:06:14 | 600 | 5

When I go for the first spread I always end up landing on frame 5 and I mean ALWAYS. When I go for the second spread I always end up landing on frame 6 and I mean ALWAYS. Am I just having bad luck and should just keep going until I land on the right frame or is there a solution to this?

Basically I'm hitting the opposite frame I need on each spread.

Uhm, depends what you're doing.
Are you breeding or capturing. And what game?
 
There's nothing you can do if you calculated your frame calibrations, hit your delay, advanced the journal and got a frame of 1above or below your target frame. This is why DPPt breeding is a pain because of potential NPC movements.

I suggest saving when the two cowgirls don't move for a good second (so you can get in and enter the game). Then calibrate your save frame and go from there.

And I'd do that by simply hatching the egg after I collect it to see what frame I hit and repeat until I get a consistent frame correct?
 
Well, you hope that its consistent, yeah. It's not always consistent though and that's when you just resave and do it again, haha.

And if memory serves, you hatch the egg, catch a wild pokemon, find its IVs and then match the delay you landed on to the egg frame.

I can do it that way but I can also do it whenever I hit my delay (since that'll tell me if I hit my seed or not) and after I hatch the egg I can see what frame I hit (which I have to do regardless to verify I hit the right frame) from that initial seed.
 
Help for a newjack

Okay, so I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to all this RNG stuff. I'm currently playing Heart Gold, and have caught 4 random shinies. I just brought that up because most people have told me it's easier to use the RNG for Diamond Pearl and Platinum..the only problem is, I don't have any shinies at all in my Diamond (not even a chained one :/ )..So right now I'm currently trying to find my Secret ID through the shinies that I've caught. To do this I would have to copy down their stats (at level 100) and put them into metalkids calculator, correct? I'd be able to find the stats much easier by just engaging in a battle (that has the pokemons levels set at 100), right? Another thing I'm having trouble understanding is the whole "seed" ordeal. Is the "seed" the moment you start up your Pokemon game? If anyone could give me any of the answers to these questions, I'd be very, very grateful. Thanks.

Edit:Okay, so after a few hours of finding numbers, I believe I've found my secret ID. Can anyone give me some guidance on what to do next? I'm mainly just going to use the RNG for hatching shinies and whatnot.
 
Hi. I had a problem while RNGing... I tried to fish and catch the Pokémon I wanted, hit my delay, calculated encounter slots, did my frame advancements (16875, and my target was on 16876) but ended up on a totally different frame (16923). I'm sure I hit my delay because you can keep track of your frame step by step in HGSS; I'm also sure that no NPC moved since I never left the menu; and I'm also sure that I did not advance my frame more that I thought I had because, again, I kept track of it.
Any idea on the 47 frames skip?


edit. nevermind: solved.

Try my noob guides. I prefer HGSS for RNG, btw, not Platinum or Pearl. There are mutliple options to advance frames in HGSS. DPPt is more limited. And HGSS let's you track exactly which frame you are on. DPPt does not.

Sometimes I think the guys at gamefreak actually made the elm calls and the radio and the pokegear work the way it works to make it easier for us. Probably it was just coincidence, but sometimes it feels like it.

How did you advance the RNG till 16876? That must have been really time consuming in HGSS
 
It only took 15 minutes, I use the Radio, Pokémon Talk advances 14-18 frames. I succeeded at the secont attempt less than a hour later (hitting my 16800+ frame).
I even catched a 128000+ frames Pokémon I don't remember.
 
Hi... Just want to ask how I can get a shiny egg for frames greater than 1 in HGSS...

For example I have a frame of 2, I tried rejecting the first egg and saving before getting the second egg but when I checked if it was shiny... It was not...

What do I do? Thanks in advance ^^
 
I've never been in Snowpoint temple, but if it's a cave, then sweet scent will advance it by +2.

mhybear: It should be shiny if that's what you did, lol. Maybe you got an adjacent delay or you accidentally entered in your ID/SID numbers wrong?

I've done this for non shiny eggs and it happened to me too. The first time my frame was 2. I picked up the first and bicyled back and forth for the second which didn't have the nature I wanted. The second time I did this for nature and ability, I picked up the first, went to the day care and picked up the parents and put them back. The result was the nature and ability I wanted.
Also will sea insense affect the rng proccess? I want a azumarill with encore, fake tears, superpower, and aqua jet.
