Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. In fact, I don't even know if I'm asking the correct questions or not. After looking through threads, videos and guides all day, I've hit yet another dead end. This time my Professor Elm calls aren't matching up with anything. I got a generated seed time of 6:21:13..I've been trying to work with that and have been changing the time on my DS to 18:21. I've even tried using that Pikatimer thing (which I still don't really understand how to use..I guess I'm just too used to looking at my computer clock), but even when the second timer drops (and I have indeed been hitting the a button on my file when it dings) my elm calls still won't match up (with anything)..I've also been accessing the pokegear right away (Elm is the first phone number).
Ps: I finally got a number that appeared more than once for my delay (it's 499), but for some odd reason the past 4 seeds have generated seconds ranging from 38, 39 and 40 (I was getting 13 seconds before most of the time). I'm not using an Action Replay. Anyone know what went wrong?

i have a problem. so i was rnging a brave ralts and its frame was on 3, by the way i was playing ss, and so i called joey to advance my frame by 2 and deposited the parents. then i rejected the first two eggs, which according to my frame my egg should be the third, and after i saved the egg was nothing more than a regular ralts. any mistakes??

Ok you called Joey wich advances by 2 so there was no need to reject any eggs. You start on frame 1 so 1+2=3.

I had the same problem and I figured out that when you advance the egg frames you need to have 6 pokés in your party.

I never have six pokes in my party for egg breeding. Edit: Whatever is happening, it probably has nothing to do with the number of pokes in the party.

To me it looks like he messed up his frames. The way he did it he would end up on frame 5, right?

Yeah, but you already discussed how to fix that problem. :-) I only wanted to mention six pokes are not necessary to breed in HGSS.

Some games get only odd delays. Some get only even. My diamond game only gets odd delays but my plat/hg always get even delays.
Oh. Thanks for the info!

For catching wild Pokemon in Platinum, it works the same as catching stationary legends? If not, is there a video tutorial on how to catch wild Pokemon?

Its basically the same except sweet scenting advances your frame by 1.
EDIT: When starting over a game, does the delays/seconds change at all?

Its basically the same except sweet scenting advances your frame by 1 or 2 depending on your game.
only applies to HGSS since pretty much everyone agrees that in DPP it advances by 2, haven't seen any evidence to suggest otherwise for those games. They are asking about platinum so sweet scenting in grass should always be +2 and on water +3

Hey! I'm RNGing a Calm Heatran on DPPt with a frame of 126. This is my first RNG on DPPt, so I went ahead and hit my delay and advanced my frame. When I caught the Heatran, the frame was two below my target one, meaning I needed to advance by two frames. However, I need to make sure I am doing the math for journal flips right.

Journal Flips = [ Target Frame (126) - Monster Frame (1) - Roamers (0) ]/2

If my math is right, I need to do 62 journal flips, but wouldn't that leave me at frame 124, but how would I advance that extra frame? Thanks!

Walk 128 steps with an odd number of pokemon in your party.

126-1 = 125. If you have no roamers out, then you end up with an odd number which means you have to advance your frame by walking.
Remember the ways to control your frame advancements:
1) Journal Flips
2) Walking in an area with wild pokemon
3) Walking in an area with no wild pokemon (Heatran's area has no cave)

In an area with no wild pokemon, 128steps advances the frame by the amount of pokemon in your party. So...

126-1(heatran) - 5(pokemon in party) = 120
120/2 = 60
So 60flips, walk 128steps, and catch Heatran.

EDIT: I'm so slow, XD....

Oh. So I just do everything, but on the grass I add 2 when sweet scenting? Thanks.

Another question I have is how to RNGing a Febass in Platinum? Don't I have to find the spot where Febass will be?

Hey guys, I decided to just catch a Shroomish instead of breeding one, so can anyone tell me how many frames Headbutt advances? I looked through a few pages of this thread and couldn't find anything.

But I started having the correct frames when I started using six pokés in my party.

No problem Bakus, I appreciate your dedication in time to answering my question! ^__^ I'm entering his cave with three pokemon, so would 61 Journal Flips and 128 Steps be equivalent? :DD

Yes, for DPPt, you need six pokes, but not HGSS. The person needing help was on HGSS.

I'm talking about HGSS as well. I couldn't get the right frame until I started having 6 pokés in the party.

most people agree headbutting advances the RNG by 3 frames, so take that into account when calculating your advancements.
