Ask a simple question, get a simple answer - mark 24 (READ THE OP)

I use a Forry as my lead, and need something to:
1-trap/kill starmies/gengars so my SD Ape will have its path clean (my team already can take bulky waters and friends)
2-Switch in Azelf leads and take the Fire Blast they usually launch.

Ive been using a CBLax for this purpose, and the Wish support from my team worked, but i want to know if you guys have any better suggestion...do you?

thank you

I'm going to prep my flame shield, but a Wish/Protect Blissey would work well. Starmie can only dream of a day when it can hurt Blissey, and I'm fairly sure a Wish/Protect Blissey with T-Bolt or something can beat the popular SubSplit Gengar.

Weaville can also trap and kill both Starmie and Gengar, but it can't beat Gengars with substitute (and most carry them).

As for taking Fire Blasts, Blissey would be good again, but make sure to switch back to Froslass after the first one (or protect if using the Wish/Protect) as it will likely want to blow up on you.

There's likely better suggestions than what I've gone for, but generally I have great success with Blissey for dealing with Azelf, Gengar and Starmie.

Totally non-competitive question here:

What is the name of the symphony piece they always play at the beginning of Pokemon movies when Brock or a narrator basically introduces the entire premise of Pokemon? It starts out with trumpet fanfare.

Or maybe you could just find me a Youtube vid of just the piece without the speaking.

Thanks. :D

Does anyone have the list for the Old UU (pre BL merge) tier? I know it's like two years old, but is there still one?

with black and white being released soon does that mean the gen 5 pokemon will be used in shoddy battle or do we have to wait until the merican release of the game?

Realistically, you'll have to wait till the programmers have time to figure out the new mechanics and incorporate 156 new pokes, dozens of new items, and hundreds of new moves.

Thanks Veedrock for pointing that out.
Why is Slowbro not in OU? He checks a good amount of threats.
No simple answer for that, but IMO his 5 weaknesses and his somewhat low special defense make him just a little bit not good enough to be a wall on any team I've ever made. Then there's the fact that his psychic STAB hits very few things in OU, I'd rather use Suicune or Vaporeon as a bulky water.

AHA! I found it. List of old BL Pokemon can be found here. Still looking for the OU list at the time, I'll edit that in. Anything not in the BL+OU lists would be UU. Note that NFEs were initially banned too, but I think those were unbanned before the BL drop.

Yes, could you please edit in the OU list. I've already found that list before, but I didn't know what to make of it... Thanks for your help!

Can I start a rebellion against Smogon?

You're too late. Someone already has.
Thanks Veedrock for pointing that out.

It's mostly forgotten to the other bulky water-type Pokemon. It can't really do ANYTHING to opposing Water/Grass types, and at least Suicune has massive bulk, Vaporeon can pass Wish, Swampert has Ground-typing and can set up SR, etc etc.

No it does not, sash only works against damaging moves. The reason it fails to protect against Future Sight/Doom Desire is because those are end of turn effects, similar to why Shedinja doesn't survive Sandstorm with Focus Sash. I assume it doesn't protect against Aftermath either.

Is it worth using HP Grass on a jolly/adamant Entei? I once read that regardless of the nature, it still 2HKOs Quagsire. I'm not sure I want to use HP Grass on it and some sp atk EVs for just one poké (I don't play NU very often, so I'm not sure how much of a threat it is), but I'd like to know if it's viable before catching it.

I'm tired of Stone Edge and Power Whip always missing when I need them to hit most.
If I use Defog or Sweet Scent first, how many times do I need to do it to make them hit 100%?

Try using Gravity instead. It's much more effective and lets you hit flying pokés with EQ.
