Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Can anyone suggest me different ways to calibrate? My Platinum keeps giving me inconsistent seconds. (Delays are fine) One day it gives me 14, then strangely 1 second, then today 16. I really need help because it's been weeks since I RNG abuse due to a bricked AR. (I got a new one but I think I wasted 28$ on it)
Just in case anyone didn't notice on the page before this one.

Ok, I hit my seed, but for some reason, when I caught the Rayquaza, it didn't end up being 31/31/31/31/31/31. Did I advance the frame incorrectly?

I called Elm and Joey, and I think calling Joey advances the frame by 2, correct? My target frame was 91 so I called them both until it equaled 90, then engaged Rayquaza, but the IVs were entirely off.

You should check the IVs to see what frame you hit. The best way to ensure you hit the correct frame and IV spread is to follow the elm responses down frame by frame once you get close to your target. Once you make the call and get the response for the frame before your target, then you press A to encounter Rayquaza.

That's exactly what I did. Though, I think I found my problem. If you call Joey (only when he isn't seeking a rematch), then the frame increases by 2. But he was seeking a rematch in my game so it threw me off.

Oh well, no worries, I'll hit it again. :)

Question about RNGing on HGSS Roamers
does Raikou respawn first or Entei? i.e. Raikou at frame 1 Entei at frame 6 or the other way around?
it is in the case of a US version of soulsilver

Okay, the guide says talking to your pokemon cost 14 - 18 frame points. But I need to know which specific number does talking to your pokemon cost so I can hit the right delay. Does talking to your pokemon cost 14,15,16,17, or 18 frame points?

it's on the first page second post, for US versions: Raikou is 1 Entei is 6

it could be any that's why it gives you a range, it is inconsistent.

okay, so am I suppose to know what number of frames I'm getting when I'm talking to my pokemon? =/

EDIT: Well in that case, if I'm gonna stress out about finding a steelix with the highest frames, then I'll have to find it with lowest frames.

Diabolico, the best way to advance large amounts of frames is to use the top right radio station. Hit the button and then move the tuner back to the center of the screen. Each time you do that it will advance 13-14 times. An example of what I do with a high frame I need to hit:

My target frame is 534. After I made my elm calls to confirm my seed, I am currently at frame 10. This means I need to make roughly 525 frame advances to get to my target. I divide 525 by 14 (the most frames the station advances) and get 37.5. That is the number of times I will need to use the station to get to my target frame. I always subtract 1 or 2 from this (in this case I would do 36 tunes/detunes) to ensure I stop well before I reach my target. Then I resume doing elm calls, and locate what frame I am on based on the pattern of responses I get.

Hope that isn't too difficult to understand, but I've found it an efficient way to reach higher frames.

My apologies, I stayed on the same page without refreshing and thought it may have had some replies since I last checked.

Ad, unfortunately, I had to Master Ball the creature because I wasn't using my AR, and didn't want to take the chance for it to Outrage and die on its own, but I'm happy nonetheless.

Huge thanks to everyone for their suggestions and help! Now I'll work on the rest of them. :)

Well, I think I may be experimenting a bit more with the AR if I want to catch different Pokes in different Pokeballs, because it's too risky for me to weaken the Pokemon only to watch it struggle to death.

Although, I do find it odd that people want certain Pokes in certain Pokeballs, to me I don't mind so much, but I suppose it's not too much of a hassle.

Two questions:
Explain to me about the bold part.

How do you locate the frames what you're on?

And....

Is there a method in the Reporter that I can use to get a careful nature pokemon on my HG game without using a synchronizer?

I'm asking because I want to use a magnezone with magnet pull to find a wild careful steelix since Magnezone's ability works in the lead spot that way It would be easier to find steelix. Since I can't have a synchronizer and a magnet puller in the lead at the same time. =/

For the first question: I'm not sure if there is a feature to do this in the RNG Reporter, but what I do is record 4 or 5 responses, and then try to find the pattern of those responses somewhere before (hopefully close to) my target. This will tell me what frame I am on. Then I can continue doing elm calls from there and follow the responses until I get to the frame before my target.

For the second question: What you do is select method J (DPPt) or K (HGSS) and when choosing the synch nature simply choose none. However, you should not be using magnet pull or anything like that. Each frame has an encounter slot that tells you what pokemon you will find on that frame. Right click each frame that has your target IV spread and select "calculate encounter slots." Based on what route/cave/area you are in, those numbers you see correspond to a particular pokemon. Click the links at the bottom to view the encounter slots for whatever game you are using (scroll to the appropriate area), and see which slots have steelix. Then just go through those frames and find one that has the correct slot in the sweet scent grass/caves spot.

@Diabolico: Put the seed you are trying to hit into its box in the main form. Set the method that you need for your game (iirc, you said you were sweet scenting for a Steelix in HG, so set the method to Method K). Put the target IVs for your spread into it's box in the page and then click generate. If the spread appears up, then you won't need a synchronizer.

Only if it doesn't show up: If it doesn't, go to the drop down box for synchronizers and select the target nature and regenerate the list. A few different frames should come up with your target. Again, if it comes up before selecting the synchronizer nature, then you don't need to do this.

Okey dokey.

I have a question... when using an AR, do you reset when the first timer hits zero? It's because Pikatimer keeps giving me a second timer that isn't enough for me to hit continue.

Adding on to MeGaMan, you'll want to select start/yes/whatever your AR screen has when the first timer hits zero. The reason you don't want to soft reset with an AR is that all codes lose their effect if you soft reset. It does take a little time to get used to, and you'll need to recalibrate if you've been abusing without one before hand, but it does help speed up the process some.

yet a other bad answer
If you press a when it hit 0 I can almost gurAntee you will not get the right delay

To find when you press a you must do your own calibration. I recently got an ar dsi and calibrated that I have to press a at 1.6-1.9. it gonna be a long precedure.

If you not rng to capture pokemon with the 100 code than you should really not rng with an ar because it would be easier not to.

umm, i'm new to this site and i now really need help on rng abuse. More specifically shiny, perrfect iv egg abuse. Being shiny is optional but since i know my SID in HeartGold i figured i might as well aim for shiny eggs aswell. Idk who will see this but here goes:

I just barely grasp what the rng breeding guide on smogon is trying to explain. it's hard for me to understand the guide with the way that it is written and i basically want a simpler explanation with just plain less complex words. This may make me seem dumb but i would easily understand the guide better if the vocabulary used in it was simplifyed.

so basically i would like someone to tell me (preferably in steps) how to abuse for shiny eggs with good iv's but with a better explanation of the terms like seconds, frames, etc....

thank you .!
