Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

yet a other bad answer
If you press a when it hit 0 I can almost gurAntee you will not get the right delay

To find when you press a you must do your own calibration. I recently got an ar dsi and calibrated that I have to press a at 1.6-1.9. it gonna be a long precedure.

If you not rng to capture pokemon with the 100 code than you should really not rng with an ar because it would be easier not to.

This makes an excellent point, and I couldn't agree more. You will always have a different delay when using AR as opposed to not having an AR. For example, when I'm using AR, my average delay is 484-485, but without an AR, it's 501. So you need to calibrate the AR's delay on RNGReporter.

On top of that, you also need to figure out how long it takes the AR to load the codes until the screen actually turns white and loads the game. For me, it's around 1.4 seconds, so what I do is subract 1.4 seconds from the first timer, and add 1.4 seconds to the second timer.

Hopes this helps, post your results afterwards. :)

i asked somebody earlier and he said that if my target frame is an even number then my current frame also must be even? is this true?

i am breeding on diamond

Darn. So I might as well calibrate again without the AR, right? (Boy, Rayquaza going to be hell to catch now)

In my experience, that is true. In this case, you can either set your DS's clock one year forward, or find a seed with an even delay (it's easier to find one with a even/odd delay, I never reset my date unless I need to.

And Omega, I just started learning RNG abuse 3-4 days ago and caught my first flawless Rayquaza today (on the average, I spend an hour per day doing so), so it won't take too long, given you have the patience.

That's what I was going to help you with :P so you could use the AR to hit any delay you want. And yes, he's extremely annoying to catch without an AR. But yeah I never use AR for captures, it makes things too complicated.

This brings up a good point Riddlin (I don't recall the creatures in your thread), but if you have Pokes caught with different balls, how do you do it without an AR? Manually weakening them, and hoping you catch it? I ask because I also have trouble with an AR, but I'd like to catch different Pokes with different Pokeballs.

Oh, I thought it was for Platinum. I can use the help. (:

I was planning to use it only on Ray because I've heard people having it kill itself and do everything again. (I do not want to deal with that at all.)

all right so im going for frame 14 and 620 delay

i've hit frame 3 as my current frame. what should i do? set my ds one year forward???
wouldn't that change my target date by one year and thus change the frame im going for?

Depending what it is, I have a fainted syncher in front of my party, a spore/false swipe breloom, or if it is a ghost or something that I can't use false swipe on (like giratina) I use a trick/focus sash gengar to get it down to 1 hp. The ones I have caught in multiple balls I simply went back and hit my delay again and caught it in a different pokeball. The only ones that ever give trouble are legends (minus dialga and palkia which are very easy to catch). Once in a while I have something struggle. If you have a problem with that I recommend using trick with leppa berries, which will restore the PP of the wild pokemon. Specifically for Rayquaza, I used COKTAL's suggestion of an own tempo Smeargle with skill swap, so I could give Rayquaza own tempo and therefore wouldn't confuse and self-KO.

And Omega, the process I was going to have you go through would work for any game you want to RNG on. I never actually did it before but knew it would work, so I did it when I was talking with you earlier and it worked perfectly. Basically it will eliminate the need for button mashing with breeding, and allow you to have your AR while doing either captures or breeding with any delay.

Is this for breeding or capturing? Year does not make a difference for frames.

If your going to try to capture rayquaza in ball with a low capture rate (lux ball, lure ball, and etc) then you should calibrate your ar. Calibrating isn't hard just time-consuming. I can only tell you that you will need to experiment with pressing a on the first timer when the second reach 1-3 seconds.

If your gonna use a masterball, ultra ball or another ball with high capture rate then you may want to rng without the ar.

No, the year has NO EFFECT ON FRAME. By changing the year up/down one changes the delay up/down by one. Your target frame will still be even/odd. The only thing you can really do is either find a target frame that is the same as your start, or resave and recalibrate the starting frame.

Smeargle idea is pretty good. I also didn't think of using a dead syncher before. (I usually switch out) Thanks for the help!

Darkchaos: That's a good idea. I need about 2-3 seconds, so that should work out. Thanks!

my first journal entry says "capture pokemon" the one after that doesn't, but the one after that one does. should i just keep switching back and forth between the 1st and 2nd one and count the 1st page as 1 flip everytime i see it?

If the page says "Caught a [gender] [pokemon]", flip to it til you complete the # of flips required.

Soulsilver US version Roamers RNG question:
I read on the first page of this thread that use the roamers method to verify my seed
since Raikou is going to be the first roamer i am trying to abuse, i defeated E4 to get all 3 roamers to come back to life once again, then i find Raikou specifically to kill him
now, before I go in to start kicking the E4's butts again, i need to know a few things
The roamers are suppose to be respawn in this order in these specific frame (US version):
Raikou - 1
Entei - 6
Latios - 11
1) If I killed Raikou, with Entei and Latios are still alive, which frame exactly do i look at as the correct frame where Raikou would be respawned with the desired IV?
2) Below is the spread i am going to use for my Raikou:
Seed: 6050266 Frame: 5747 PID: 4f0acf77 Timid 31/2/31/30/31/31 HP Grass 70
The question is: When I SR the game one step before doing the auto-walk to fight Lance, after verifying the seed using the roamers method, how many frames do I have to advance on the radio to get the correct spread? 5746? or something else?

ok thanks guys

im sorry but........ SSSSSUUUUUUUCCCCCCEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations! It certainly felt wonderful when I caught my first RNG Poke today as well (hexflawless Modest Rayquaza), and I'll be going back again tomorrow to get the Timid hexflawless version, or perhaps Adamant. :)

Right now I am trying to RNG the roamers with near-flawless stats and some HP 70, starting with only Latios first. Well I've already found my seeds from using JavaRNG with Method 1. The problem right now are that my frames range from 500-1000. Are there any easier ways to advance the frames to such a high value without using the radio technique that follows a mere increment of one?

Maybe off the point but adamant hex flawless doesn't exist for a caught pokemon or does it ?? Also what are the possible hexflawless natures for caught pokemon ??

I was sitting here thinking Adamant was one of the others, but you're correct, Adamant is not a hexflawless catching spread. Actually, the other two are Calm and Docile, which you wouldn't want anyway.
