Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Are they considered "Wondercard Pokes" or "Captured Pokes"? I'm trying to follow Mingot's guide, because HG/SS at least follows the method D/P/Pt uses.
neither, they're gifts so Method 1 just do whatever you did for a caught Pokemon, except use method 1 to generate your frames.

I'm just not sure I understand how to RNG Method 1 Pokes.

Alright, so what I did was this: Went to time finder in RNGReporter, selected Method 1 with Modest nature and 31 IVs. Looked for something with a 639 delay, and found one result with a Modest Nature and hexflawless IVs. The seed is 52140289.

So far, have I done this correctly?

Edit: I think I might have oversimplified what I was trying to do. Essentially, I just had to find the seed with the spread I wanted, then check to see how many frames it takes to get the spread? That's about it?

(I'm very new to RNG, so bear with me...a personal teacher might help!)

Is the delay spread for HG/SS different from D/P/Pt? Because I 've gotten some erratic ones in HG while in Diamond, I've been landing in the consistent range that the guide states.

Edit: never mind, figured it out...

As it turned out, I did oversimplify things a bit. I just RNG'd the Modest hexflawless Giratina, so it's time to do the rest and also attempt Timid natures. Thank you! :)

Hey guys, after a successful Wondercard and several successful BPs I want to try my hand at standing legendaries, and especially Zapdos. I follow Riski's guide, which tells me to use Wichu's program, but whatever values of IVs I put in, no results come out. I even tried to search for non-shiny spreads, but nothing works :P

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

i don't get it, how can you verify the seed you hit when you're inside the room before you talk to lance? im using the rng abuse for roamers, roamer method to be precise.

Guys, I've been trying to rng abuse my own snorlax and these elm calls are all that I'm getting over and over again: P,E,P,E,E,P,K,K,E R: 36

I've been searching for it on the list of Elm Calls in the "Seed to find" on my Reporter and it doesn't match with any of the Elm calls on the list.

That's what I've been trying to tell the others.

You will have to catch a pokemon and use the IVs in seed finder to find out what delay you are on.

You should be getting results, but they won't show up in Wichu's program. Instead, all the possible spreads you want are in the folder that you downloaded Wichu's program into, I think it's in a Spreads.txt file, you'll find it. :)

I finally got my Timid Jirachi in SoulSilver after something like 60+ tries. Now I'm going after stationary legends. I couldn't find the page that tells each HG/SS legendary's monster frame and method, so could someone tell me those or show a page that has information about them?

Yeah, I know, but those files all show: Found 0 Result(s)! So I'm baffled.. :(

Alright, after reading the Wurmple evolving into Silcoon or Cascoon depending on on the last 4 digits of the PID, so would these be correct?

PID: CD353054
Evolve into Silcoon as last digit ends in 4

PID: 66FA9B9E
Evolve into Cascoon as last digit ends in 9

EDIT: I forgot about the conversion part :/

Kiebin: Increase your delay range maybe. You should be getting some on lower ones, but just in case, put your delay range up to like 5000, lol. OH, and when it asks, Search for exact IVs, put N.

Miku: Standing legendaries all are 1 from recollection. I can't think of one that's not right now.

All right thanks. Does anyone have a good spread for Timid HP Electric 31/x/31/30/31/31 (I'm going after Suicune first) And what methdo should be used for stationary legendaries? (In Platinum it was Method 1 so I guess it's the same in HG/SS?)

They're pretty common, download Wichu's program for it so you can do all other legendaries toow ithout asking. It also allows you to be more picky with what you want ^^

Congratulations!

What I learned about stationary legends, is that if you don't know their Monster Frame, always assume that it's 1. That has always worked for me and the 6 Pokes I've RNG so far, and no failures yet, so I'm doing something right. :)

Zapdos, Articuno, Moltres, Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-oh, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, and Suicune all use Method K.

Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina use Method 1, and also have Monster Frames of 1. However, they are a bit tricky to RNG correctly unless you save in the room where you are supposed to choose which one you want. I usually save the game 1 step away from the middle of the circle for the one I want, reset DS, set time, RNG, then call Elm if I hit the right seed, then step into the middle of the circle for said Pokemon. That is the simplest way, and does not advance the frame even if you move 1 step to the middle of the circle. :)

My last question

Is it possible to RNG pokemon located in the Safari zone in the Heart Gold/Soul Silver version?

I was trying to get a perfect Male Cacturne with Spikes. But it's impossible to RNG it in DP because it was located in the sandstorm. So I thought why not the safari zone?

If I tinkered with the dates, does it affect the safari zone wait times? like if I changed the days 40 days ahead when I'm supposed to wait, will that do anything?

@Cynth: It is possible to abuse in the Safarii zone, but I wouldn't recommend it. From the hours I spent over the summer trying to understand it it seems like the safari zone generates the encounter slots differently from other places. As for your question about the blocks, it's "level up" is saved. So if you've waited 40 days, then which ever level that means it's on will stay (see serebii for days/levels). It only saves it to the level, so if you're one day away from leveling the blocks up, then change the date, it starts back at the beginning of the wait for that level.

PID: c1677e3a (TIMID, ability 0) 31/31/31/30/31/31 (Seed: f30004c2 Method 1: 31, J (synch): 14, J (no synch): None, K (synch): 14, K (no synch): None) HP ELECTRIC 70

I got the following using Wichu's program and chose Method K. I just hit the right delay but I would like to know that is that number 14 the program listed there the target frame for this seed? I'm RNG'ing in SoulSilver so I already advaced the frame making 9 Elm Calls to check the delay. So if that number 14 is the target frame, should I advance the frame to 15 and then capture Suicune? (I have 3 Pokemon in my party and I'm not sure whether it affects this at all?)

yes, that's the target frame if you have a Timid Synchronizer at the front of your party. So advance to frame 13 then interact with suicune.

Thanks again! It had the correct IV's. :)

I'm still a bit confused though, because in Platinum it mattered sometimes how many Pokemon I had in my party when I went to capture some legendaries. When exactly do I have to have certain amount of Pokemon in my team when I go capture a specific Pokemon? And why did I have to advance the frame to 137 when I was RNG'ing Jirachi (it was in SoulSilver too) before picking it from the Delivery Man? (The target frame for that was 136, got the seed from DPP RNG manipulation guide)

Ex: Say you wanna catch a 31/31/31/17/31/31 Adamant Regigigas with a frame of 565. What you would do is walk EXACTLY 128 steps to advance the RNG by the # of pokemon in your party which in this case is 5 putting you on 560. Then you would do 280 journal flips and battle Regigigas.

Point of this: the # of pokemon in your party determines how much the RNG will advance when you walk 128 steps.

in platinum and DP since the only way to advance the RNG by 1 frame or odd frames for that matter was through the use of roamers that added 1 frame for each one out or by walking 128 steps to advance the RNG by a numebr equal to the number of Pokemon in your party. This problem does not exist in HGSS thanks to elm/Irwin calls and radio advancements that can advance the RNG by1, so in HGSS it doesn't mater.

Ok now it makes sense. Thanks for the answers again. I still have one question about the stationary non-legendary Pokemon. (Red Gyarados, Lapras, Sudowoodo and Snorlax to be accurate) Are they RNG'd using the same methods as normal stationary legendaries? (Method K, their Monster Frame is 1 etc)
