Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

If i start RNG'ng wondercard pokemon whats the monster frame / starting frame before i collect it?

I'm curious about this as well. I think I'll take Miku's advice and go to the Cerulean City Pokemart to avoid wandering NPCs, as well. I know that talking to the delivery man advances the frame by 1, but I have yet to know the starting frame if I go to collect Mew.

Also, I don't think you have to use Wondercard IV spreads. You can use hexflawless IV spreads for Mew, such as the capture Pokes, but you might not get the nature you want.

After calling Elm 9 times to confirm your delay, you're basically on frame 9. So advance from 9 to the number you need - 1, because talking to the delivery man lands you on that frame.

Nailo: You can't soft reset for the nature - that's why wondercard abuse is such a drag, ahaha. Once you hit your delay and advance to your target frame and collect the pokemon...if it's not the nature you want...you do it again from scratch! Bummer! But good luck ^_^

Okay guys, After I'm done rng abusing my gyarados tonight or tomorrow, I would like to learn how to rng abuse my own pikachu from the pokewalker. I probably know a little bit on how to do it but I'm gonna need some help since I haven't been playing with my pokewalker for 3 to 6 months because I probably forgotten to play the pokewalker. If you guys don't mind.

Ok, I just want to make sure, but if I do a BP with someone else's ID/SID, all the steps are the same except I put their ID/SID in the fields, correct? Or am I totally off the mark? I'm working in platinum, btw. And thank you in advance :)

Yes. You do everything as normal except you use their SID/ID combo instead of yours.

Ok, the delivery man does advance 1. This is because wondercard pokemon have a monster frame of 1. This means, if you go into the game, assuming you have no roamers, and pick up your pokemon without doing anything (and no NPCs around, like in Cerulean) then the pokemon will have a frame of 1. This is true for pretty much any pokemon that you press A to interact with that is not a roamer. Example:

I am on frame 57. My target is 61. The next elm calls will be - 58: E, 59: P, 60: P, 61: E. I call elm until I get the second P response (frame 60), then talk to the delivery man and my pokemon will have the IVs of frame 61.

I RNG'd a perfect Mew. I called Youngster Joey 57 times to get my frame number from 1 up to 115. Then I called Elm 1 time to advance the frame to 116. I then talked to the delivery man and I got my perfect Mew.

My target frame was 116. I KNOW FOR A FUCKING FACT that talking to the delivery man does not advance the frame up by 1.

I had a target frame of 86, I advanced to 85 and then I talked to the delivery man. Also with the Mew. Care to explain?

I am seeing two different answers. Either:

Wondercard Poke Monster Frame is 0, and talking to delivery man advances it by 1.

Or

Wondercard Poke Monster Frame is 1, and talking to delivery man advances it by 0.

So, ultimately, it doesn't matter. You advance the frames x amount of times until you are on the desired frame, or close to it, then talk to the delivery guy.

This didn't just happen once. I did this SEVERAL times to get a good nature for my Mew. I don't see how you guys are doing this differently than me, but I know that for my game talking to the delivery man doesn't advance the target frame at all.

Ok, sure you're right. Go do it again and see what happens. I don't know what I'm talking about, I've only done this a few hundred times. No need for swearing, really. So really, right now you're saying that if I went in my game and picked up a mew, it wouldn't have the IVs of frame 1, but would have the IVs of frame what...zero???

Edit: A monster frame means that if you immediately press A to interact, that is what frame your pokemon's IVs and nature will be on. If i want to RNG a Cresselia in platinum (monster frame of 5), and I go in game and do nothing except press A, assuming no roamers it's frame will be 5. That means you stop 5 frames in front of your target and then press A to interact. If something has a monster frame of 1, that means you stop 1 frame in front and press A to interact. This is not rocket science.

57 joey calls puts you on frame 114. Good job.

ok calm down, seems there's been some miscommunication, BAD the only reason you have a starting frame of 1 is because that starting frame comes from the fact that generating the Wondercard Pokemon's IVs advanes the RNG by 1, if you called elm right when you start the game, with no roamers out you'd get the response for frame 1 unless there was some prior RNG advancement, but without roamers and in a place like the Cerulean City PokeMart there should be no prior RNG advancements. So in essence, you're both right that starting frame of 1 you account for is due to the fact that generating the Wondercard Pokemon by speaking to the deliveryman advances the RNG by 1 so all you had to do was call joey 57 times to get to frame 114, the elm call then got you to frame 115 then speak to the deliveryman.

Bro, I just know from experience that talking to the delivery man doesn't advance the frame by 1. What you say to me means nothing compared to what I have personally witnessed. In fact, if you go to Youtube and search for Wonder Card RNG abuse you will see that the person doing the RNG abusing advanced his frame up to 116 then talked to the delivery man and got his perfect Arceus.

So I know I am not the only one experiencing this.

57 joey calls puts you on frame 114. Good job.
Right, frame 1 is what you start with then 57 Joey calls later you end up with 115.

Right, frame 1 is what you start with, then 57 Joey calls nets you frame 115.

No. That is where you're wrong. You start at 0. If you make one elm call, you get the response for frame 1 (advanced 1). If you make one joey call, it advances you to frame 2. So to get your target frame of 116, you would make 57 joey calls, taking you to 114, make one elm call to get to 115 (your response will match the 115 response...I promise!), then press A to pick up your pokemon on frame 116.

Edit: This is my last post on this. If you believe you're right, that's fine, keep doing what you're doing. I'm simply trying to help the other users from going by the misinformation that you're posting.

.. you start with frame 1 cuz gettin the poke advances by 1 so they start it with 1 to stop confusion
Do you start with frame 0, then talking to the delivery man advances the RNG by 1? I thought that there was no such thing as frame 0?

thats what we've all been trying to tell you. it starts on 0 +115 for your frame and while generating the poke it advances to 116 giving you your final result

You start at 0. You can't get anything with frame zero because anything you do will advance you at least 1 frame (talking to delivery man 1, sweet scenting 2, blah blah).
