Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Both sides aren't incorrect, it's just how you view things. Personally, I view it BAD's way: You start the game on frame 1 and picking up the Pokemon advances it by 0. However, you guys view it as starting the game on frame 0 and picking up the Pokemon advances it by 1.

It really doesn't matter. You advance the frame the same number of times anyway. It's just a matter of perspective. Some people view it one way because it's easier for them.

I'm not trying to be argumentative or anything, but if you just follow elm calls down the list, stopping at the frame before your target, then talk to the guy and you get the IVs of your target, that means the frame is advancing one. Now obviously if you don't do that and simply calculate the advancement needed without keeping track of your frame, then it really doesn't matter. I however, for larger frames, use the top right radio station to advance quicker. So since I'm always at a random spot in the frames I have to keep track of my frame with elm calls, and make sure to stop one before to get my target. If I tried stopping on my target frame, and then talking to the delivery guy, I'd always get the IVs of the frame right after the one I want.

guys im calibrating but rng reporter keeps saying that my seconds delay is 15 when it clearly isn't.

i keep hitting A at 14 seconds and then about half a second later 15 seconds show up when the screen is already black and im entering the game

earlier i was hitting delays of low 620s and 14 seconds but now im hitting 15 seconds and numbers in the 630s. . .

When calibrating I noticed that it doesn't tell you the number of seconds it took to get into the game, rather it tells you the second you landed on DS time.

So if you started the game at 6:30:00, and you got in at 6:30:15. Means you had a 15 second calibration.
But now say you start on 6:30:19, and than you get into the game at 15 seconds, it'll say 6:30:34.
So you might be starting the game a tad late, making it say 15 rather than 14.

With whatever timing method you're using, take half a second off of the first timer and see if that makes you're seconds consistently 14 (if using 60 seconds, make it 59.5). If you're just button mashing, then maybe you should try looking for a spread with 15 seconds if that is what you're hitting.

Like I mentioned earlier, there were two ways to look at it. Either you start at frame 0, and pick up the Poke to give you 1 frame, or you start at frame 1, then pick up the Poke with no frame added.

I do use radio for large frames and just use the Elm Responses -> Frame way of jumping to my current frame. I just view it as "this is whatever frame I'm on and if I call Elm now I'll get this Elm response." That's why I view picking up Pokemon as not advancing any frames: I'm already on the frame where the IVs are generated so I just pick it up.

We've both RNGed several Pokemon and both of our ways work because we both eventually acquire the same end result. Our viewpoints of looking at it are different. I guess I could pull a "the ends justify the means", but that would lead into an argument about Pokesaving and whatnot. However we do it works for us.

I'm not trying to impose my viewpoint on anyone, just stating how I view it. I know there are people that view it your way and people that view it my way, but either way we still get to what we want.

Now, I'm going to ask this before I forget: what method(s) are the Pokémon Ranger Manaphy Egg and Eruption Heatran from Guardian Signs generated with?
Method 1 for Manaphy egg.

Speaking of Manaphy... how does RNG abusing work for Manaphy? I use a shiny spread on it on, lets say Platinum, then trade it over with the shiny spread that's the same?

I'm trying to get a Shiny Illumise and everytime I hit a seed that has female as the gender, I keep getting Volbeats. What could be going wrong?

i'm trying to RNG in the fuego ironworks, but the frame isn't the same every team(with the same journal flips,etc..),so there are wandering NPCs,right?
if yes,where are they?

are in the trophy grden wandering NPCs?

Can someone help me ?? I am trying to RNG abuse a impish regirock in platinum(the one in rock peak ruins). I hit my frame twice and verified by coin flips. I then switched my impish ralts with Synchronize to top of my party, did the journal flips but I didn't get my nature or IV's for that matter. What is going wrong ?? I generated my seed in RNG time finder by Method J.

Edit : Found was wrongly advancing the frame, forgot to count the roamers.

Use the nature and IVs in seed finder to find out where you actually landed in the game. If you landed on the correct delay, check the nature and IVs on the frame list to see what frame you did land on.

are there any NPC's for RNG breed in SS? and how do i advance the frame on it?

Inside the Daycare Centre there are no NPCs.
Outside, when you collect the eggs and reset for the IVs there are 2 (I think).

To advance the frame, use your telephone to call Prof. Elm, since you can also use that to verify your seed.

If you haven't unlocked all 3 of Elm's sayings (Pokérus, Kanto and Evolution), then you can advance the frame using the radio. The bottom Right one is the most reliable, as long as it's not Buena's password it advances the frame by 1 each time you switch to it. So just pressing the bottom right hand button, then dragging the marker back to the centre (without hitting any other stations on the way to the middle - jumbled messages count as stations).

Hope that helps ;)

you have to catch a pokemon, input its IVs into the seed finder and select a spread from there. Time finder only works for shiny eggs

Just a quick question regarding wild capture RNGing :). I've hit my seed, but there doesn't seem to be anywhere that says how to encounter the wild pokemon (sweet scent or running about), and how many the frame is advanced by from sweet scenting.. cause I'm not hitting anything :/.

I'm using method K on SS.

Thanks in advance.
