Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Well, if a seed has a delay of 600 in the year 2010, it will have a delay 599 in the year 2011 (relevant because of New Years :D) and therefore be odd. If you put a GBA Pokémon game in you'd start hitting even delays, but you're better off adjusting your year.

And just make sure you have your ID and SID input into whatever program you're using to find shinies. That's all I can say about that.

So i changed the year to 2012 and the delay changed to 549. Is this right?

Do you suggest that I should calibrate to actually hit my seeds?

Can someone please try to get this seed CF0F0231 (shiny, docile) if you have time. I have tried this for 5 hours 12 minutes now and I still cannot get a shiny pokemon.
 
Calibration is not really necessary unless you want to - it will help you with your seconds, but a reason why I suggest using toastplusone's timer is that it calibrates the delay for you :).

Toastplusone's timer may seem more difficult at first, but that's because it's much more accurate imo. You don't listen for the beep that hits 0. You time it on the 6th beep. Every 6th beep you hit "a" or continue or whatever.

When you change the year, make sure to update RNG Reporter. The delay should be reflected on there as well as the new time you enter into your DS :)

Also, why are you going for a neutral nature? Muk is a +def/spdef or Adamant nature, no?

Also, once you hit your delay, make sure you understand frame advancements as well! :)

Did the first egg came out at least Docile? If yes, then something is wrong with your id/sid combo.

No one else can really use that seed because its shiny and only your game have that combination.

Okay I've given up for the day, going to work soon. Thanks for your answers Bakus and Darkchaos, but I just can't hit 'a' precise enough to reach that delay! Closest I got was 4 delay difference. I'll try toastplusone's tommorrow.

Also, I had two people check my SID for me and they both said the same one so I assumed my SID was correct, it was my caught/bred pokemon that I gave them. Also I doubt my ID is wrong ^^

The first egg I hit a even number target delay which you said was impossible without a GBA game. It was 1 frame when i searched it up on the Time Finder 'Shiny Egg' so I assumed the first egg would be shiny. I hatched it and it was not shiny or docile... Maybe I just reached a glitch and hit a even target delay and it wasn't really correct? Would that explain it DarkChaos?

Also Bakus I just want to test if i can RNG and because I owe someone a shiny grimer (no specific nature/IV). Also, with ToastPlusOne's timer, do I just put it every delay I get and it calibrates my delay for me? So the result can be my permenant calibrated delay?

HCZ: There are still frame advancements in doing shiny eggs though :P

Skeptyks: A pokemon cartridge can have either an odd delay or an even delay. It is very rare to have it jump back and forth between odd/even delays. That said, if your delays have been consistently odd, then it will almost assuredly always stay odd :)

Your ID/SID would only affect shininess. So everything should be right except that. Did anyone call you while you were waiting for an egg? That will mess it up.

When you put it is, hit update and it'll adjust. It should go without saying, but if you know you were far off, don't bother updating. You should get where you need pretty quickly. And the idea was for that to be permanent, yes. I found that it's off by about 4 on really high delays though. Shouldn't really be a problem though.
 
You're probably a second late or your date's wrong, I've "hit" even delays
When my game only gives me odd. I soon found out my date was wrong.
Maybe that's what you're doing wrong :/
 
I have a question for RNG Abusing Pokéradar Pokémon -- how do you pick a spread? I know how the PID for chained Pokémon is generated, and it doesn't look like you can just "pick a spread" like you normally would. :\ And do you actually have to chain a shiny all the way before you can start abusing its IVs, or is there a way to abuse for a shiny patch?

Does the Pandora's Box from RNG Reporter also work for Emerald ID/SID abusing?
Due to nostalgic reasons, I'm planning to play Emerald again like before, but this time I'm using RNG to get perfect-IV legends.

I need some specific details about Emerald RNG, if any of you guys have some experience, because some of the tutorials doesn't much thorough details on Emerald RNG, such as ID/SID abuse, wandering NPCs, etc...
 
if I try to to fish abuse on platinum while i'm surfing,will be the frame advancement of the rods 4?

and,turn while surfing advances the frame by 1?

No, you can't ID / SID abuse in Emerald (at least not yet).
Also, wandering NPCs have no effect on the RNG. Back then the RNG was done frame by frame, which refreshed around 60 times per second. And so no matter where you are, that will be the advancement.

OK i have one question about RNG Breeding on diamond. im up to the part where i have to hatch the egg and make sure i have my right nature and ability. so the problem is i did all the steps before correct and when i hatch the egg its not the nature i want. I did this almost over 10 time doing the steps before correctly even the happiness and coin flip correctly. can anyone tell me what am i doing wrong??? PLEASE HELP
 
I want to hatch a shiny flawless charmender in SS.

Are these the steps I need to follow?
1. Determine SID from multiple red gyarados catchings
2. Determine a shiny egg spread and a DPPtegg perfect IV pokemon (complete with inheritance)
3. Hit the delay as it indicates on the shiny spread
4. Since IRNG is unaffected by NPC's or elm calls, verify my seed the usual way by calling elm. I move up the IRNG by rejecting eggs.
5. Get the egg, save, verify shiny/correct nature.
6. Since nature/gender/shininess is set from before I take the egg, this egg will be always of the same gender/nature/shininess. Therefore reset
7. Try to hit the IV DPPtegg spread I want (neccessary number of calls is target frame - 3 because of the NPC right?)
 
Do we have any information at all about abusing for Nature on Wonder Card Pokémon (HG/SS)? I'm trying to clear out my WCs before the new Shiny Beasts events; I must have thrown out at least two dozen Jirachis with perfect stats but the wrong nature by now, and it's getting really frustrating.

Close. You want HG/SS perfect egg IVs, and you do not want to pick up the egg from the daycare until after you hit the seed for IVs and have done the Elm Calls to advance the frame. I haven't RNG Abused eggs in HG/SS, but I have no idea why you would subtract 3 because of the NPC.

OK, I call shenanigans. I've done this 3 times. I'm trying to get a timid Raikou with HP Grass. I have a seed picked out. The spread I want is on frame 110, and I have 2 roamers. So I did 107 radio tunes. Now, I understand messing up once or twice. . . but I've gotten the same spread 3 times now. The one on frame 112 of my seed. Is it because my time was at 23:59:01, and I waited a minute for it to be the next day so Buena's Password wouldn't be playing?

Never pick a seed's time that is on the last minute of the last hour, because when your clock hits 00:00, it throws your frame way off.

Not sure if this was mentioned before, but just thought I might clarify.
 
Ok people, I'm in for what is the most difficult rnging
Chained shiny theoretical.

1. How do I choose my seed, one that has my if/sid combination
and in the 700s, right? But how?
2.I save on patch of grass with repel on, then try to hit that seed.
Once I do, I use the pkradar, which basically advances the rng by
The number of patches shaking, i.e. 4patches=10 frames.
after I do that, I go to patch, always turning and walking to have a
Consistent frame advancement right? Once I go into tge patch, that would
Be 6 frames advancement and if its the right pkmn I catch. Right?
3. after the battle, I see the next patches, and I keep chaining and
Calculating what frame I'm at until I reach the shiny patch???
4. Once I'm in front of the shiny patch, I calculate how many frames I need
to advance to get to my target frame 6 before the frame right??

And.....that's how you do it???
 
In Platinum RNG, I'm trying to do a wondercard Arceus. Where do I soft reset? the game world? or the title sequence?


Also, for the journal frame advances, does it have to be done after pressing continue? Can I do it in the game world if I wanted to?

Maybe someone did call me, I highly doubt my ID/SID is wrong though... two people checked it for me.

I'll start using your timer again ^^ I didn't notice that it was every 6 beeps it hit 0. I was like wtf it just beeps randomly.

Anyway, does frame advancement really matter in breeding shiny eggs? In time finder I always just look for a frame 1 because some video said its the amount of eggs that it takes to reach a shiny one.

You can customize how much you want it to beep. By default it is half-seconds and 5.. 4.. 3.. 2.. 1.. Hit. You can look at my thread (sig) to see the options. The default is just what worked best for me.
