Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Here a curious problem. I was rng breeding a snorlax. I got my shiny egg easily ( hit my standard 522 delay)...to save time I saved the game, plugged in my ar and used fast hatch to verify my shiny. It was shiny. Then I took out my AR and again tried to hit my egg iv delay(522). HOWEVER I failed completely with none of my delays hitting the adjacents of +-99 whats going on ?? Is it the AR or what .......I'm confused o_0

How about the seconds? You might have failed to hit it.

can someone please help me get the hang of this rng. i tried a few weeks ago and got a little help but it frustrated me so much i went back to soft reseting for the shiny dialga and have had no luck so i think i'll try this RNG again. I am playing DIAMOND and trying for a shiny Dialga. I have already caught a random shiny and got my SID and gone through calibration phase where i got 14 seconds with around 620-630(this part is really confusing me i don't get why these are needed yet)

So then i went to time finder in rng reporter and found spread i want and right clicked it and then did generate more times and found todays date with a time of 12:00:39 oh and the frames are 327 it actually popped up 6 different frames under the same seed and spread ranging from 327-351 what one should i use?? ahh so confusing

then i save in front of dialga with the coin flip ready and put my ds time to 12:00:00 and start a timer at the same time. i can get back and be ready to soft reset and i think the time that i am needing to soft reset is at 12:00:25 but everytime i do it the coin flip doesn't match up to what it should be. i don't even know if i'm looking at the right place to get what coin flips i need? i guess i am beggin for help at this point! anybody feel like helpin please pm me, and thanks in advance!

I don't know exactly how trying to find a shiny Pokemon works, but that's not the issue right now. If you hit your delay and frame and it's not shiny, come back and say something. :P

You should learn how to use PikaTimer. If you find Riski's guide to RNG abuse, there's a section on how to use PikaTimer.
The problem with all of this is that within one second, you can hit 60 different delays, all giving different results. Using a two-stage delay timer like PikaTimer, it becomes easier and easier to hit your target seed.

As for the frames - there should be many results with the same spread. Don't worry about it, since you're going for a stationary legendary. I'd personally go for the lower one, so if I accidentally overshoot one I might end up getting the same result anyway. But just worry about hitting your target frame.

thanks for the reply man, but so i am doing everything right so far? when i right click and generate the time and date and stuff is it at the top where it says coin flips for seed, that is the exact coin flips i need to get when i get in game correct? the target i'm trying for also says delay of 611 and when i was in calibration phase or whatever the lowest i got was 620 i think. could that be 1 of my problems maybe or does that not matter?

Yep. In RNG Reporter's Seed to Time, it tells you the delay you'll have to hit too. If you go into the bottom half of where it tells you the dates and times for your seed, and you set the seconds to +5/-5 and the delays to +99/-99 and click generate. When you enter the game, before moving or doing anything, go click "Search Flips" in that list. Then flip your coin ten times, and click "OK," and then it will show you what you hit, and you can compare it to what you are trying to hit.

i've still got to be doing something wrong. even when the timing feels perfect it will say i'm off like 5 seconds and waay offf in the delaypart..i do it the exact same the next time then its like 3 seconds to early. my timing is not that off, i'm so irritated, this is so much more frustrating then soft reseting... i'm almost willing to pay someone to do this for me, im just not getting it and it's making me want to punch a hole in the wall =/

almost 2-3 hours just today and havent even got close to my target seed. i've spent too much time on this to give up but i don't mentally think i can take it anymore!

You have to ditch that rng and do a resave. Now I am again hitting my normal delays but I had to ditch my shiny snorlax egg :(

In HG/SS, ARs are really unneeded for breeding. If you've hit your seed and done the proper number of advancements, you probably have your IVs. That NPC will almost never mess you up.

Well he's obviously messing me up somehow, and by ridiculous amounts.

So, you're saved in front of the daycare man, right? What I do when I think the NPC is getting in my way is just enter the game, and stand in front of the DC man for like 5 seconds, then I re-save, hoping that the NPC is in a different position that it won't mess up the frame. And make sure that you're synching your DS clock with Pikatimer (Or whatever you're using as an external clock) as perfect as possible. Sometimes that messes me up as well. Hope I helped :]

I am preparing some seeds for the Relaxed Suicune that will be coming out in a couple of weeks in the US. I was wondering if the spreads from this page will work. The ones you download as an excel file. I know there are wondercard spreads designed for set natures and whatnot but I am wondering if the regular seeds listed in that excel file won't work?

If they won't work, where do I go to find TR spreads for set natured Wondercard Pokemon?

ahh finally, i am successful! i have me a modest hp grass 70 heatran.

i have a question (kinda specifically for winters zombie if you see this) - you showed me two different spreads for heatran, a modest and a naive. where do you find these two spreads?

you have to vm him instant of posting his help here :D,read this -->http://www.smogon.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2553502&postcount=5

any spread would work in wondercard pokes, you can find TR spreads in this way: use pokerng select n spread and use the seed finder in the RNG reporter and fill the boxe's,then select "wondercard's" in the main screen and hit generate.

Whenever I go to search my elm responses for my shiny egg seed, it always says No responses found. I've used both Pikatimer and zomgtimer. =|

Since I was able make Dialga reappear on my Diamond version instead of my platinum version, how do I hit my target frame since my player moves and starts battling dialga by itself when I step closer?

We need info to help.
Gives us the info you're putting into the timer.
What are you using in RNG Reporter? (+/- delays, seconds)
What is your process?

Well, right now I am recalibrating on my HG. I was inputting 14 seconds as my calibrated seconds (It WAS before my "recalibration")
And my Calibrated delay was 493.

After I went through the rng timer process, I tried to verify my elm calls. I generate 20 ajacents on either side. I was confident in hitting 14 seconds. But when I clicked search elm calls, it would tell me that it couldn't find a matching seed. (I'm trying to get a Jolly shiny treecko)

I was re-reading the noob's guide and decided I should recalibrate.

Actually your calibration sounds really close to what it should be. Maybe try generating a few more adjacents and check your date and time to make sure they're what they're supposed to be. Make sure you do the minute before if the timer says to.

Just to make sure, you're SRing at the end of the first timer and hitting continue at the end of the second, right? Just ruling out possibilities.

I was actually. I even tried generating 90 adjacent results on either side, lol. But, to be honest, I only did the calibration process the first time 3 times, I was lazy. :p

Redoing it now though, I'm hitting 15 secs with a delay range of 490-506, 502 being the most common so far.

Calibrating isn't all that necessary provided you just use ZomgTimer by toast, it adjusts your calibration for you.
