Not really. The don't overlap coverage.
Steel covers Ice and Rock. Ice covers Grass, ground, Dragon, and Flying.
But both are resisted by Water, which is why Thunderpunch is used...nevermind, I love having as many Ice attacks as possible, so :P...
That said, should CBGross be used, or CBScizor is just better?

Basically depends on your team's needs. Life Orb is recommended if you want raw power, however, if you want Lilligant to stick around for a while, I'd go for Leftovers. It's an argument between power & survivability. Ultimately, it's your choice.

Depends on what your Team need. Scizor got that fantastic U-Turn a more powerful Pullet Bunch and Pursuit (should the opponent stay in) while Metagross got superior bulk a more powerful Stab and access to EQ, Thunder and Ice Punch (as well as Explosion though it got nerfed and seems unappealing :/).

So this event happened to me earlier today and basically cost me the match, which makes me really curious to see if I was in the right here or if I was just unaware of certain mechanics. Hitmontop, with <12.5% health uses Rapid Spin on Nattorie, dying from his passive thorns in the process. Does SR get spun away or not? In my battle he died and they didn't get blown away, but that seemed odd to me..this happened on PO so it's certainly possible that this small detail isn't implemented correctly, but I was just hoping to know for a little peace of mind.

EDIT: Thanks supermarth. Guess you learn something new everyday right?

Anyone mind to rate my in-game team?
Emboar
Roopushin
Aaken
Doreida
Nattorei
Shubarugo
I dont really know the moves.....

And I can't seem to save my changes for PokeGen(i need it for Roopushin). How do you do that?

@ zee-brah.

Your team is fine. Doreida and Roopushin pretty much sweep the game by themselves with Bulk up and Brokenfly Dance. You'll have little trouble, except maybe with the Ghost Elite Four guy. Try sweeping with Archeops.

Simple Question: Will Smogon be publishing usage statistics soon?

Questions about Synchro Noise:
1. Does it also hurt the user?
2. Does it deal typeless damage or does it take into account resistances/weaknesses? For example, would Umbreon even be able to use it.

edit: Also is there a topic that lists the recently banned things? I heard Aldoran's Proposal passed, and I know Inconsistent was banned, but I guess its buried in the suspect thread? Maybe I missed a topic in Policy Review?

No, according to Bulbapedia, "Synchro Noise damages all Pokémon with the same type as the user." In other words, If the user is a Psychic Type, Synchro Noise will only damage the opponent if it is a Psychic Type.

To find the things which have just been banned, look in the blind voting section of PR, in each of the voting threads so far.

Medicham with 252/252 jolly hits 438 attack and 284 speed. He gets fake out, drain punch, hi jump kick, bulk up, recover (lol) He's definitely usable, you just have to use him right. A choice bander with max attack adamant and 241 speed would make an excellent wallbreaker with the right prediction, and priority fake out off 720 attack hurts.

You could try a jolly scarfer. IIRC he learns all three elemental punches, but no U-turn, which is a shame. I guess people don't use him because he's slow. He has the same base speed as gallade, and both are perfectly viable in OU, but they get shunned in favor of the fire/fighting types, breloom, and machamp/conkeldurr.

Its_A_Random, No what
No it's not typeless or no it's doesn't deal psychic type damage.
It isn't typless, It's a Psychic type move that deals damage only if the opponent is the same type as the user. Sorry for the lack of clarification.

Ah, thanks. I saw Eevee got it via egg move and thought maybe there was some ridiculous niche Umbreon could use it for.

What a silly move.

Last question... I'm trying to use both Milotic and Lilligant/Doredia on my 5th gen OU team. What would be some Pokemon that have good synergy with them? I was thinking maybe Scizor and Shandera... I'm trying to make a bulky offensive team, so I think I'd like both Spikes and Stealth Rock on the team. Milotic has Boiling Water/Toxic/Ice Beam/Recover as my defensive check... Doredia has Butterfly Dance/Sleep Powder/Giga Drain/Hidden Power Rock as my setup-sweeper. What would be some good physical attackers and entry-hazard layers for 5th gen OU?

I'd recommend a Foretress as an entry hazard layer, It can set up Spikes & Toxic Spikes (Which is a big aid if you are trying to attempt a Lilligant sweep) & can also spin the hazards away. Ferrothorn is superior, but it can't lay down Toxic Spikes. So your call there. Since Lilligant is your sweeper & Milotic is only a defensive Pokemon, Ninetales should help out as well with Drought Support which will help Lilligant as it raises her speed.
Just a little bit of food for thought.

Hmm, actually, I think I'm against Toxic Spikes because they conflict with boiling water and sleep powder and toxic. Hmm, maybe Ferrothorn could work here. I should also note that this is by no means a sunny day team--I wouldn't be using a water type if it were.

Lilligant/Doredia
Chandelure/Shandera
Ferrothorn/Nattorei
Milotic

This group of Pokemon actually have a hefty set of resistances between them. Now, does anybody have advice for a physical sweeper (not weak to fire, so no Lucario or Scizor) and a Stealth Rock setter (perhaps Garcomp)? Maybe a lead?
