Chandelure

even with shadowball chances are you can toxic stall him out (10% chance of spd drop right?) and tyranitar's only useful as a revenge killer. you can't switch him in anyway so the 2hko is irrelevant

Actually, you might be able to stall out Shadow Ball: 44.41% - 52.30%
That's Timid Chandy's Shadow Ball to Calm 252 HP/252 Sp.Def Sableye.

Flamethrower though: 52.30% - 61.51%

Also, how is Sableye taking an overheat nicely? 76.97% - 90.79%
You can survive, but that's not nice at all.

Oh, and here's a nice scenario with T-tar.
One of your mons die and you send out T-tar to kill the sweeper.
The sweeper gets killed and they send out Chandy and then use HP Fighting against your Tyranitar: 55.45% - 65.35%
That's Max HP T-tar. So Chandy can actually kill a weakened T-tar without much trouble since the only Pursuiter(Assuming they don't have another one, which is unlikely they do) and is free to keep on raping things.

I think you're using the wrong pokemon to counter this thing. Assuming shadow tag gets banned, snorlax is without a doubt the best counter for this thing. Thanks to thick fat, he doesn't take that much from his fire attacks and he's immune to shadow ball. I'm not sure how much HP fighting does, but I'm guessing it doesn't do that much with snorlax's great special defense.

Priority Recover+SpA drop. He's going to have a hard time stalling out the other moves, though.

Obviously, but 70%+ isn't "taking it nicely".

Too bad Snorlax can never OHKO with Crunch though: 71.26% - 84.29% (Assuming no SR)
That was an Adamant 252 Attack Snorlax against a Chandy with NO investment at all.

Modest 252 SpA Chandy's HP Fighting against 252 HP/252 Sp.Def Calm Snorlax though: 23.66% - 27.86%

He's a nice counter, but he's not that great for OU anymore though with Close Combats being thrown all over the place now.

Conkledurr and speed boost blaziken are running amok throughout the metagame. Thus, snorlax will have a really hard time getting in.
And even if it does get in to defeat chandy, what else can it do?
There are more useful pokemon to counter chandy. Like blissey/chansey.

Wrong. Chansey and blissey's attacks can't break a sub as easily (if at all) as snorlax. Snorlax can break a sub in one hit (with crunch, EQ, or Level ground, and possibly pursuit) assuming shandy tries to set up on him. He'll eventually have to attack, and then snorlax can finish him off with one of those attacks.

Aside from the fact that Shadow Tag Chandy has no counters, Blissey and Chansey can't touch any set with a Sub.

Even though Chandy can switch out and Snorlax is kinda useless now?

it is when the next overheat will do ~35% and you have priority recover. toxic on the first overheat then recover fun. shadow ball isn't as nice because of the special defense drop but even still you can get a fair amount of damage done and more often than not they switch out their shandys anyway. the biggest problem comes in crits. as for ttar just dance around with him and keep him alive. firstly the shandy needs to be locked into hp fighting which they will rarely use (infact i have never seen a hp fighting chandelure and i've gone all the way up to 30 odd on the dw ladder) and the presence of tyranitar means the smart players will be cautious in sending out shandy in the first place and the dumb players will throw around chandelure willy nilly. tyranitar is without a doubt the most succesful thing i've used against them.

First off, it's not "taking it nicely" when it's taking up to 90% damage. He can stall it, but it's not going to like to lose so much HP.

Secondly, Chandy can revenge a weakened Tyranitar. I never said Chandy countered him.

Well guys I just got an email from my pokemon japanese dream world account with something about Chandelure's prevolution being with the japanese dream world. We might have shadow tag Chandelure soon. Idk I can't read japanese real well.

No 5th gen Pokemon can be found in DW (no overworld sprites), but if it is being released in an event with it's DW ability it could screw up the nice little metagame we have right now :(

I have received nothing in both my e-mail accounts.

I'm pretty sure he means your ACTUAL e-mail, not the global link messages.

I recall seeing e-mails like that in various screenshots from a while bak. It's just PotD. I remember seeing Timburr & I think Petalil, too.

How about blaziken as a counter? A plus 2 stone edge has gotta do something the chandelure and blaziken cant get ohko'd by a shadowball or fire blast right?

If it does actually run Stone Edge or Shadow Claw, then yes. Otherwise, it's the other way around; Mixed or Stone Edge/Shadow Claw-less Blaziken cannot do a thing to Chandelure unless it has something overly specific like a super-effective Hidden Power (Blaziken usually runs Electric or Ice). Blaziken is also 2HKO'd by Shadow Ball, so it's not exactly a counter.

Counter means you can switch it in safely. Maybe a counter for FF/FB Chandelure, but not ST Chandelure (I refuse to call it Chandy because I keep typing Chansy by accident). Zoroark is probably the best pokemon for killing it before it kills something of yours.

Even though Chandy can switch out and Snorlax is kinda useless now?

Thick Fat and a Ghost immunity weaken Chandy's two stabs.

Pursuit if it tries switching out.

Substitute also works when Chandy switches. If you do that and the opponent switches to Blaziken, it should be able to OHKO it with a powerful attack.

I think we need to give Snorey a second look!
