Zoroark

Ok, but lets say you copied a Toxicroak.
If you use Dark Pulse, you can still pass as Toxicroak.
If you use Night Burst, you lost your cover.
When does Toxicroak ever use Dark Pulse? Most of the time you're going to be giving away Zoroark with your first move, and why would you want two of the same Pokémon anyway?

Just theorymon here, but how many EVs in attack does Zoroark need to OHKO Latios/Gengar Starmie with Sucker Punch? Because I'm gonna run a set of Sucker Punch/Dark Pulse/Flamethrower/HP Ice. Also assume he's holding a Life Orb and SR's on the field. I'd do it but I can't find a fifth gen damage calculator...

With Stealth Rock in play all of them are OHKOed with 0 Atk EVs assuming they're running 4/0 spreads, and only Latios would live if SR wasn't on the field. From there you can just invest however much you need to deal with bulkier spreads if they're all you're worried about. 36 Atk EVs lets you get 4/0 Latias should you be worried about that. Anything else faster than Zoro isn't getting OHKOed by Sucker Punch without absurd investments so you'd be much better off putting the rest into your Sp.Atk and Speed.

Something like; 36 Atk / 220 Sp.Atk / 252 Spe would work. You could always drop the Speed to 232 so you still outspeed Chomp/Landlos and then add the extra 20 EVs to one of the offensive stats.

Could using Zoroark to beat Reuniclus's counters in a VGC TR team be viable? I'm trying to come up with an interesting strategy for this.

Zoroak is the perfect shandi bait, he comes and ilusion makes him looks like nattorei or breloom, perversity jaroda, and the candle is going to come and try to kill you, you sucker punch and all your oponent have is a dead shandy, it's very fun, and it makes your opponent fear your upcoming brelom/jar/whatever

Ha thats how I used mine. I disguised it as Amoongus...here comes Chandy, and TADA! Sucker Punched in the face!

Question:how does this work? do u switch into chandalure or...I'm confused, because it seems like u guys are saying it comes into the sucker punch, but sucker punch fails when they switch does it not?

Personally I'd just use special Zoroark and blast it on the switch with Dark Pulse / Night Burst. SD Sucker Punch Zoroark is best used on its own rather than trying to disguise itself as something else, as Sucker Punch fails on the switch and you'll be Swords Dancing regardless.

Or if your disguised as something like amoongus you can nasty plot on the switch into chandy and if they realize its a zoraork and try to switch again then nasty plot i guess it requires good prediction cyz then again chandelures fire blasts are pretty damn powerful

i see no reason to nasty plot twice with zoroark. nothing, i repeat, nothing in the entire metagame will enjoy taking a +2 dark pulse that might be followed by another dark pulse or focus blast(or flame-T) depending on the pokemon speed. when the enemy find out you got a zoroark chances are he will switch something capable of outspeeding that would probably be koed if you bothered to atack instead. team preview might fuck some of zoroark illusion up but also helps with knowing when to atack or nasty plot.

Or if you play on PO's Dream World, where there is no preview. It's also rather scarce there, so people don't normally go around checking to see if everything is a Zoroark.

Zoroarks existance is too good, since illusion in non team preview matches can abuse him even when he isn't on the team XD(think outside the box)

In other words, he's amazing if you play using local wireless, since local wireless lacks team preview.

exactly. what's the point of having this Pokemon and it's great ability.. if in the pre-game, your opponent will see you have it in your party.. kind of ruins the surprise factor of the ability. this team preview thing is a bad idea imo

While he is pretty amazing with hidden teams, if you've built your team well he still does well on Wifi.

At the end of the day he has good stats and a decent movepool and unless you totally give it away it keeps your opponent on their toes and can lead them to make serious mispredicts.

Also can't be revenged by Ditto which is nice.
